Yakima SUP Dawg Crossbars

The SUPDawg lets you carry 1 or 2 SUPs fin side up on your vehicle's roof rack. This padded aluminum carrier includes integrated, adjustable straps, rollers for easy board loading, and a tail tie-down to secure your boards. The SUPDawg mounts to most crossbars without tools, and it includes locks to secure your boards to the carrier and the carrier to your vehicle.

Built-In Straps and Tie-Down Anchor

The carrier has integrated straps that adjust along built-in tracks to snugly secure your boards. The straps can be tightened or loosened by pressing the red buttons on the end of each arm.

Elastomer pads on the straps help grip your boards, and they protect your board rails against strap abrasions. The polypropylene straps and UV-resistant pads will last through many years. And built-in slots in the carrier contain excess strap length to prevent flapping as you drive.

Yakima SUP Dawg Tie Down

The included tie-down strap acts as an anchor - securing your SUP to your vehicle. The strap connects to a tie-down point on the tail of your board and hooks onto your bumper. If you are carrying 2 boards, secure the strap to the bottom board. A cam buckle lets you adjust the tension, so you can secure your board without damaging it. A flexible elastomer sleeve along the tie-down strap also protects your bumper from abrasions.

Easy Loading with Integrated Rollers

Yakima SUP Dawg Roller

Rollers are built into the ends of the carrier to help load large, heavy boards. Just set your board on the edge of the carrier, and push the board onto your roof.

Simple, Clamp-On Installation

Yakima SUP Dawg Clamp

The SUPDawg's mounting clamps fit most crossbar configurations without the adapters. To install, simply place the carrier on your crossbars and turn the integrated handles until the mounting clamps are tightly secured. If you have round crossbars, the included adapters will provide a secure fit, preventing the cradles from twisting or sliding on the bars.

Added Security

Yakima SUP Dawg SKS Lock

Locks on the ends of the carrier secure your board to the carrier and the carrier to your roof rack. After your board is loaded and the straps are pulled through to the back of the carrier, use the locks to secure it in place. Yakima's SKS cores can be swapped out to make all your Yakima locks keyed alike.

I use these 2-3 time weekly for my SUP I fish off my SUP and this rack is a great investment for quickness and ease of strapping. Thing I like best about etrailer is how fast I get my stuff.

by:

After doing some research decided to go with the Yakima roof rack setup for our VW Atlas. Love the look and functionality of it all. Got the SUPDawg paddle board carrier to go with it. Love the locking capability for piece of mind when leaving boards unattended. We are VERY happy with our choice. Drove on highway with two paddle boards and it all went smoothly with zero wind noise whatsoever. Definitely worth every penny. Will recommend.

Received the the Thule accessories and Yakima Supdog from etrailer.com. It was all nicely packed into one box. As the box said, "the bottom of this box should not be the end of the relationship"
I can tell you it won't be! The items were shipped quickly, and they followed up with an email to make sure all was received well. Love the customer service! Also, the Yakima Supdog product is great. Took no time at all to get it on my truck and load up the 2 paddleboards.
It was exactly what I was looking to get!
Thanks!

The SUPDwag is easy to install and use. Made for Stand Up Paddle boards, but it can work with Surfboards. Wish it was a little bit narrower, hopefully Yakima will make smaller one for the surfing market.

I turned my unit around to the driver's side for loading, also protects rain from getting in the lock when driving.

by:

Great Product, mounts very well and sturdy to my stock VW carrier bars. Easy to install and easy to use. I would give this 5 stars if the length of the straps had been in the description. If the straps were 75" instead of 65" this would allow for more carry options. If you have 2 sups over 6" thick and 33" wide, I would search for another option. Many hybrid SUPs like ours are over 6" thick and very wide and unfortunately this carrier cannot accommodate 2 of our hybrids due to strap length.

by:

Put these on a Subaru Forrester. Very easy. Love the excess cord storage. Snugged down my paddleboard so well I didn't need the front tie down.

Competitive price. Works as expected for a year now, no problems and very easy to use. I was surprised etrailer had these in stock while everyone else was out or drastically up charging.

by:

When purchased I was concerned that the clamp down to my cross bars wouldn't work. Upon delivery I installed the SUBDawg immediately with no problems what so ever, the universal type clamp worked well. My wife and I put both paddle boards on after the install and went for a ride up to 70 mph, we felt no movement. The engineering of the tie down is awesome. I highly recommend buying the Yakima SUBDawg.

by:

Fantastic service! Speedy delivery and The sales team follows up with you to make sure you have all the information you need to use what you ordered. Fantastic company. Would highly recommend and I will use them again in the future

Great product! Customer service is A+ I will definitely buying from etrailer again. Thank you

  • Recommended SUP Carrier To Go On A TruXedo Elevate Rack System TX24NV
'Sup Kevin (see what I did there?). I do have a solution for you, but the Thule SUP Taxi # TH810001 and the Yakima SUPDawg # Y04075 are not going to work with the TruXedo Elevate Rack System # TX24NV. The TruXedo system has crossbars that are 3.79" wide 1.5" tall. The SUP Taxi and SUPDawg will only work with upto crossbars 3.5" wide. So, the TruXedo bars will be a hair too wide. We do have some good SUP carriers that will work on the TruXedo crossbars. One really good option is the Lockrack...

  • Roof Rack Recommendation for Carrying SUPs on a 2022 Toyota 4Runner
I recommend using the Yakima JetStream setup to carry your paddleboards on your 2022 Toyota 4Runner because the Yakima legs have adjustments in them that allow you to get the best fit possible. 60" JetStream Crossbars - Black # Y00426 TimberLine Towers - # Y33TR Lock Cores - # Y07204 (optional) Then if you don't already have a paddleboard carry I recommend going with the Yakima SUPDawg # Y04075 which can carry both of your boards. • Paddleboard Carrier Recommendation for Carrying Two 36 inch Wide Paddleboards
The Yakima SUPDawg carrier part # Y04075 that you referenced would do a great job carrying your two boards as it is designed to carry two boards that are up to 36 inches in width. I would need to know the year/make/model of your vehicle though to pick out a roof rack.

  • Carrying 2 Stand Up Paddleboards with Darby Load Extender on a 2013 Chevy Silverado
The Darby load extender and single roof rack bar # DTA944-968-924 can handle the 2 paddleboards but you will need a paddleboard carrier as well to safely secure and protect the boards. The Thule SUP Shuttle # TH811XT has a good price and holds 2 boards up to 34 inches wide. Only the SUPDawg, # Y04075, can handle wider boards and it maxes out at 36 inches. These carriers also include tie downs to secure the "bow" and "stern" of the boards. I have included video links to all of the parts above.

  • Will 70 Inch Yakima JetStream Crossbar Allow SUPDawn & Sky Box 16 to Fit Together
Hi CM, So in order to fit both the Yakima SkyBox 16 # Y95AV and Yakima SUPDawg # Y04075 next to each other on crossbars, you're going to need the 70 inch long Yakima JetStream Crossbars # Y00427. Even positioned at the outermost edges of the 60 inch long bars there won't be enough space, so you'll need the 70 inch bars and there is still going to be some overhang off the side due to the widths of the cargo box and carrier.

  • Stand-Up Paddleboard Recommendation for a 2011 Jeep Liberty to Clear Roof Antenna
If your 2011 Jeep Liberty has a trailer hitch with a 2 inch receiver, then you could use the Rhino-Rack T-Load Hitch Mounted Load Assist and Support Bar, # RTL002, but you will likely have to carry your stand up paddleboard at an angle to clear your antenna. A better option for you would be the Yakima SUPDawg, part # Y04075, and the Thule WingBar Evod Roof Rack, which consists of the 53 Inch Thule WingBars, # TH711420 in black or # TH711400 in silver, along with the Evo Raised Rail Feet,...

  • Is Express Surf Strap Designed to Carry Two Paddleboards
I spoke with my contact at Thule and she said that even though the Express Surf Strap would be long enough to secure two paddleboards stacked one on top of the other, it is not recommended because one board potentially could slide out from on top or beneath the other. We do have several carriers specifically designed to carry two paddleboards stacked. Check out the Yakima SUPDawg, # Y04075. • Will Yakima SupDawg fit on Yakima Overhaul Crossbars
The Yakima SupDawg part # Y04075 that you referenced can fit the crossbars of the Yakima OverHaul part # Y01151 but it would do so by clamping around the bar. If you wanted carriers that install via the top channel of the bars I instead recommend the Inno Locker Watersport Carrier - Locking - Channel Mount - 1 Boat or 2 Boards # INXA445 or the Lockrack Watersport Carrier # LR54FR.

The Yakima SUPDawg Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - 2 Boards # Y04075 is not able to be mounted to the top of rails with t-slots. However, we do have an option that will fit your desires. I recommend the Inno Locker Watersport Carrier - Locking - Channel Mount - 1 Boat or 2 Boards # INXA445. This carrier will fit the T-slots of your crossbars, headache rack, or ladder rack. It comes with the locks included. I've attached a video to assist.

  • Best SUP Carrier For Easy and Quick Loading
It really depends on the carrier you go for. For the Thule Taxi XT # TH810001 I recommend putting a tie down in the front. Just because there is only one narrow strap securing your paddle board to the carrier and when you're driving at high speeds the paddle board will catch quite a bit of air which will raise the front of the board. I suggest the same thing for a Yakima Rack like the SUPDawg # Y04075. Same idea here, highway speeds will raise up the front end so again I recommend using...

Hey Qim! It looks like the Park Lane edition of the 2016 Mini Countryman came with flush mount rails installed on the roof. If this is correct, I recommend the Inno Aero Flush Roof Rack for Flush Rails item # IN82RV. This flush mounted roof rack does not extend past the side rails so it is perfect for a non-inflatable SUP. The bars are 36" wide and have a 165 lbs capacity. • What Is Crossbar Distance Needed For Roof Rack Paddleboard Carriers
There is no preferred crossbar spread listed for the paddleboard carriers we offer. They do however list the minimum crossbar spread at 24-inches. This is the minimum distance needed for part # TH811XT and # Y04075. Both carriers have weight capacities and crossbar dimensions, so you want to make sure you select the right carrier that will work for you. If you want to let me know what roof rack system you are using I will be glad to make recommendations that will work.

The AirFlow2 comes with all the components you need to attach crossbars to your raised rails. As far as security, the AirFlow2 includes locking mechanisms that deter theft.
