The Kuat Class 2 J-style carrier is always ready to go when you are. Its fixed arms hold your kayak on its side, providing a sturdy mode of transport. The arms and bases have a thick rubber padding to protect your kayak from scratches and scuffs while loading and during transport.
If you have a taller vehicle, you may need to remove the carrier to park in your garage.
Because of its small footprint, the carrier also takes up less space on your roof than most J-style carriers. This means you'll have plenty of room to carry another kayak, cargo basket, or whatever other gear you might need.
With most kayak carriers, tying down your kayak can be a hassle because of shifting straps. The Class 2 simplifies that process with convenient strap ports in the arms of the carrier, to make securing your kayak easier. Once fed through the slots, the straps stay in place while securing your kayak to your vehicle.
The Class 2 comes with a total of 4 straps: 2 tie-down straps that secure your kayak to the carrier and a set of bow/stern straps to secure it to the front and back of your vehicle. The rubber-coated cam buckles on the carrier straps and the rubber sleeves on the bow/stern tie-downs help with grip and protect your vehicle from scratches. All the straps are made of a durable nylon webbing and have hook-and-loop fasteners to secure excess slack. 
If your vehicle doesn't have any tie-down points, you can get an anchor kit (sold separately), which will let you create anchor points in the creases of your vehicle's hood and hatch.
The carrier clamps to most crossbars without the need for tools. Simply set the rack on your crossbars, slide the mounting brackets over the bolts, and secure them with the T-knobs.

The roof rack fit great and looks great, has an aerodynamic design. The roof rack was purchased for a tandem kayak to be mounted on a Honda Accord. Took about an hour and a half to install with directions included. Very high quality roof rack and strength to hold my 12 ft 8 inch 74 lb yak.
I love my Kuat Class 2 kayak carriers. They are easily taken on and off - no tools needed. Once they are on they are easy to use and quite secure. Also, the rubber padding is done well so as not to damage your kayak. I highly recommend these carriers.
I have to add: Greg and everyone at etrailer has been great: They identified the correct equipment for my vehicle. They helped expedite my partial order when one item was on back order. I have a 2009 Toyota Corolla. The Rola R5022 fits perfectly and the pair of Kuat Class 2 Kayak Carrier C2R1B securely cradle two 10' kayaks. I placed the order on July 22, 2020, order arrived intact on July 25, 2020 and installed easily. Now the reason I purchased my system from etrailer is because of the exceptional customer service. I called on July 23, 2020 and worked with Tammie P. She answered my questions and when she could not, she placed me on a short hold while the called the vendor to get an answer. Tammie followed up with me today to make sure the system arrived and to see if I might have any questions. Awesome! I recommend etrailer for towing and carrier needs. The carriers have worked out very well, but the tie- down material is not the easiest to work with, and l’m not sure how long it will hold up, it’s already fraying in spots. But overall I’m pleased with the product.
I was wondering if this would on my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2017. It was very easy to install on the factory roof racks. I bought a new 14’ Yak 2 person and it road great to the lake. This is very well made and the straps and bindings were heavy duty
