Features to know about

Keeps the Trailer Steady in Wind and Passing Traffic: Built-In 2-Point Sway Control

Anyone who’s towed in gusty conditions knows how sudden sway can turn a calm drive into a tense one. The Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution with Sway Control keeps things steady using steel-on-steel friction at each L-bracket. This rigid setup holds the trailer in line and helps resist sway from crosswinds or quick lane changes. You’ll feel the difference when big rigs pass or the road gets rough—the trailer tracks smoothly behind you instead of fighting the steering wheel.

Balances the Load for a Level, Controlled Ride: 600 lb Tongue / 12,000 lb Gross Towing Weight

Uneven trailer weight can make the rear of your tow rig squat and the front feel light. This system uses round spring bars to spread that load evenly over all the axles. With a 600 lb tongue weight and 12,000 lb gross towing capacity, it’s built to create a balanced, level ride. The controlled flex of the bars smooths out bumps and dips, so you get predictable handling and less bounce mile after mile.

Simple, Solid Setup for Underslung Couplers: Works Where Others Don’t

If your trailer’s coupler is mounted under the frame, this hitch is designed specifically to match that style. The included 6-hole adjustable shank and pre-installed 2" hitch ball make setup straightforward. You also get up to 2" of drop and 6-3/4" of rise, giving you flexibility to dial in your height. Clamp-on, no-drill L-brackets adjust easily along the trailer frame, so there’s no need for extra tools or modifications.

Quiet, Low-Maintenance Operation with Durable Steel Construction

Instead of loose chains rattling around, the Blue Ox 2-Point uses rigid L-brackets that hold the spring bars firmly in place. That means less noise during turns and a more connected, confident feel. Every major component—from the head assembly to the bars—is built from powder-coated steel that stands up to corrosion and road grime. Once it’s set, the system stays tight, so you can tow season after season with little fuss.

All-in-One System with Long-Term Confidence: Includes Complete Hardware and Limited Lifetime Warranty

This package comes ready to go with the head assembly, adjustable shank, hitch ball, spring bars, sway control L-brackets, and all necessary hardware. Everything fits 2" × 2" weight-distribution-rated receivers and trailer frames from 3" to 6". Blue Ox backs it with a limited lifetime warranty, so you can count on it for the long haul.

Video Transcript for Review of Blue Ox Weight Distribution Hitch - WD With Sway Control - BLU72XR

Hello, neighbor. Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at our Blue Ox Two-Point weight distribution with sway control with a six-hole shank in an underslung fashion, rated at 12,000 pounds gross towing weight and 600 pounds max tongue weight. So, both weight distribution hitch, basically evenly distributes the weight over the axles of the tow vehicle and trailer giving you stability and control. Now, it will also create a level ride for both the tow vehicle and the trailer. Now, this kit has built-in two-point sway control.

So, I'll throw an image up on the screen, so when those brackets and everything are fully assembled, they hang around the frame of your trailer. And then the spring bars, where the yellow arrow's pointing, that's where they're gonna be resting and sliding and that friction's gonna give you that sway control that you need. Now, there are no lift chains and stuff like that, you have to use like some brands out there have. So, it's gonna help eliminate unwanted movement and the round spring bars can flex appropriately for a more controlled even ride. You don't have to drill anything.

It's a simple clamp installation with all the nuts, bolts, and hardware that's included here. (inhales) Now, it is all powder-coated black steel as well in the construction of the product and it's very durable and corrosion-resistant. (inhales) Now, you do get the head assembly, the adjustable shank, the hitch ball that comes pre-torque down on here and everything, the spring bars, the sway control brackets, and the lift bar tool. So, this guy's gonna go up underneath the bars and you're gonna use it to push 'em up in place safely. (object knocking) So, keep in mind those spring bars when you have this installed, is gonna be under an immense amount of pressure.

So, make sure you follow the instructions correctly to stay safe. Now, as I mentioned, the shank here has six holes. That's gonna give you different options as far as heights and drops. Now, this does fit a two-by-two inch trailer hitch receiver that is rated for use with weight distribution systems. Now, you can use this on trailers with bottom-mounted couplers as well.

Now, when this system is completely put together, it's gonna give you a max rise of six and three-quarter inches. And the distance from the center of the ball to the lift bracket position is gonna be 28 inches. And the distance from the lift bracket position to the end of the spring bar is gonna be four inches. So, once again, folks, I'll throw an image up of this completely installed just so you get a better idea. That's gonna do it for our quick look at the Blue Ox two-point weight distribution. I'm Steven, thanks for watching!.
