Specs:
A trailer jack is designed to lift the tongue of your trailer so you can connect the trailer coupler to your hitch ball. To do this, you'll need a jack with a lift capacity high enough to handle your trailer's tongue weight.
Tongue weight is the amount of weight that your trailer applies to the back of your tow vehicle. Typically, your tongue weight should be 10-15% of your total trailer weight (trailer + cargo). In other words, a 10,000-lb trailer would have a tongue weight between 1,000 lbs and 1,500 lbs. For a trailer this size, you would need a jack with a lift capacity of at least 1,500 lbs.
It's okay to have a jack with a weight rating that is higher than your trailer's tongue weight. In fact, a jack with a higher lift capacity should operate more efficiently, allowing you to spend less time cranking and more time camping.
Every jack offers a certain amount of lift or travel. Screw travel is the distance the jack extends when you crank it (or toggle it to "extend" on an electric model). Some jacks include a drop leg for extra adjustability. On these jacks, you'll see the maximum extension of the drop leg listed in the specs as well. Adding the screw travel and drop leg travel together will give you the total lift. The total lift listed above can help you determine how high this jack will be able to raise your trailer.

Extends 6" in 29 seconds with 1,000 lbs of tongue weight. This jack was the perfect solution for my application. I have a new enclosed trailer that came with a manual crank and only a tiny battery to run the lights. I did not want the expense of having to buy and cable up a larger battery to just support the tongue jack. Took me 5 minutes to install this new jack using the three bolts that were already on my OEM jack. Now I just back up my truck, plug in the 7-way, and I'm able to move the tongue up and down as needed. Great!
Good jack but there are better on this site for the money. The light is useless. On the back side of the jack so does not help with connecting at night. The manual operation requires removing the mini bubble level with a small Phillips bit to use. Other jacks have a simple plug to remove by hand.
With all that said. It does perform the main purpose it was intended to do just fine. I’ve since purchased the etrailer brand same rating for another trailer and think it’s a much better jack.
Failed after 1 month. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Found that when cranked manually - even a fraction of a turn- it would work off the switch, but only once. That, with the fact that it has to have the a 3 screw cover removed to operate it manually, and therefore every time it failed, makes this unit entirely unreliable.
I love my new electric trailer jack ! It has a 7 pin RV plug which makes it so convenient to power. There are lights on both sides to shine onto the hitch after dark. There is a bubble level on top to know when the camper is at least level enough to start setting up. It all works great !
Replacement of the manual jack with the "A" Frame electric jack is among the best purchases I have ever made. Ease of installation and operation make hook up and removable of my trailer almost effortless.
I GAVE THESE PRODUCTS A 5 STAR RATING, I LIKED THE JACK SO MUCH AFTER BUYING THE FIRST ONE,I,VE BOUGHT TWO MORE NO MORE CRANKING FOR ME
The person I spoke to regarding an issue with the ordered jack no longer being available, was very helpful in finding another product that would work on my RV. The jack bolted to the RV easily and performs well.
One year later and still working great. It has made hooking up and unhooking much easier.
I recently went to a trailer dealer to ask about the electric jack. They don’t carry or install these items per the associate. I quickly remembered my past experience with etrailer.com and looked up the item. They had several options available and quickly shipped it to me ahead of schedule. It fit and works perfectly!
Works great, I really like that it plugs into the bumper so you don't need to worry about an extra battery.
The problem with this one is the level cap where the emergency crank is has three small screws you need to remove. My other two have a cap that you can remove by hand real fast.If you buy this one keep a small Philips screw driver with the hand crank. Also ALL STICKERS are peeling off do to the coating used on metal. The jack is well make metal parts seem well coated.
This item looked great but I did not get to use it. It did not work. Etrailer promptly issued a return on it and has shipped me a new one. review pending, but I do like etrailer.
Shipping was fast and jack works when I plugged it into my pickup. Haven’t mounted it yet but looks like it should fit
I have one on for over a year worth every penny, also bought one for my friend
Caroline B was a great help on the phone. Placed my order with no problems with billing. Immediately received an email with tracking info that told me to expect it a day later than it arrived. I installed it and tested it within less than 5 minutes literally. Short of any unexpected problems in the future it was a pleasant experience. I will definitely use etrailer again for future needs.
Very simple process ~ easy website to navigate ~ great products!
Easy to install, works great!
Works great. Wired directly to camper. Makes life so much easier.
On our first try the motor stopped and would not restart. After some reading of reviews, we found out about the reset button on the back of the motor. It’s tucked away so we didn’t notice it… nor was it mentioned in the ET video or directions. We do like that the jack plugged directly into the 7-pin. Initially it took some wiggling of the plug to get a good connection. We had to really snug/squeeze it into place to maintain contact, as it seemed to have a bit of play. We should be good to go, and will update this review after more experience with the jack.
Slow but effective. Great range and easy install.
Quality product and simple install. Works as advertised.
Item arrived quickly. Easy to install, less than 5 minutes.
