Question:
Hello, I am brand new to towing. I am looking for advice on a weight distribution hitch with sway control. My trailer is a: - 2015 Forest River Rockwood HW 277 with a GVWR of 3870 lbs. and a unloaded hitch weight of 370 lbs. My tow vehicle is a: - 2022 Ford Explorer XLT AWD I4 with a Class IV Tow Package a GCWR of 10,100 lbs., max loaded trailer weight of 5300 lbs., a max dead weight hitch weight of 500 lbs. and a max weight distribution hitch weight of 530 lbs. - The 2022 Ford Tow guide states that a weight distribution is NOT needed for the Ford Explorer. I was looking at the Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - 6-Hole Shank - 10K GTW, 600 TW Item # BLU45FR I believe that I need a 2” ball mount for my setup. *All advice would be very much appreciated for this newbie tower, trying to keep his family safe. Thank you and have a wonderful day,

The Blue Ox weight distribution system part # BLU72XR that you referenced would be a great option for your 2015 Forest River Rockwood HW 277 based on the weights you listed and the hitch ball size you need of 2 inch.
