Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Roadmaster Seven Wire to Six Wire Flexo-Coil Kit. Now, this cord here will allow you to connect your motor home lights to your towed vehicle lights. The adapter cord can be used for multiple towing applications, so it is perfect for running power from the RV with the seven-way round plug, to your towed vehicle or trailer with the six-way round plug. It will include everything shown here on the table.
Just gonna zoom in. It's gonna include this flexo-coil cord with the seven-way round, the six-way round, the six-way socket, and the six-way mounting bracket with the hardware. Now, this flexor-coil cord can extend to more than eight feet, yet it'll still contract to prevent dragging and tangling of your cord. They use silicone injected plugs to prevent corrosion, and the electrical cord itself is resistant to water, oil, and chemicals. The plugs have been wired to standard electrical codes, meaning the center pin on the six-way plug right here is wired to 12 volt auxiliary power.
There are two different industry standards. And again, this one will have the center wired to 12 volt auxiliary power. Now, it is always recommended before towing that you use a test light to verify the motor home and tow vehicle matches before you're connecting the plugs. And one last note I do wanna mention on this, the flexo-coil cords are not intended for use with the Roadmaster All-Terrain tow bars, or any other tow bar that includes cable channel guides. You do only wanna use straight cords with those types of models.

The 7 to 6 coil wire kit came in yesterday, and my lighting harness kit came in last week. I have not yet had the chance to install these yet, but the quality of the products is really good. etrailer ordering was really simple and quick and the online videos do make a lot of the multitude of projects easier. Still working well. I’ve had several and they all worked well until I dragged them behind the motorhome. A self inflicted wound.
Wired up the 6 wire receptacle in place of the flat 4 plug and mounted to the base plate. Looks great. Checked that wires from MH match this for proper operation.

2018 Chevy Equinox LT, 1.5L Turbo. Product works perfectly and has for the last year. Always use etrailer.com to get it right. Tried to get the right products as a kit, but that was a total mess as the kits didn't even come close to what I needed. Called etrailer to get their expert opinion and it was great! For example, just for electric it took 3 different packages for the wiring. I also ordered the Blue Ox towing hardware including the car install and the tow bar. Used their videos for all the installations. Would not have gone well at all without their knowledge. Thanks etrailer!

This is my second set of this kit. Setting up another TOAD. Very easy to install. Nice screw terminals with big enough holes for appropriate cable gauges. Everything you need is included. Even nuts/bolts.
Yes, I could have just ordered the receptacle for my second TOAD, but having a second cable as a spare is not such a bad idea ;)

It's a good convenient unit except the set screws loosened up inside the connector allowing some of the wire ends to disconnect. I figured it out and fixed it but that really shouldn't happen.
This is not exactly as described. Roadmaster sold a coiled cord that is not coiled for the first 24 inches so it can fit in there hitch system. You will need to take off one of the two ends to be able to thread this through the road master hitch. This is very difficult depending on which end you pull off as they are not designed for this as you will have to put electrical silicon in either connector afterwards. Very big disappointment

I believe that the Roadmaster adapter cord you were looking for is part # RM-1676-7. I wish that this one worked out better for you.
eTrailer was very helpful in choosing the correct hitch for our rv and car. They also provided a special brake application in the car that makes it super easy for toad braking.
I am 72, and I hook up this toad and pull it with confidence. The instructions to hook up the toad was presented with ease. They knew exactly what they were doing, and we didn't rush through the demonstration. I would recommend eTrailer to anyone.

Very good quality
Nice cable, plugged into my existing unit. One minor problem with cable wire connection. Had to swap 2 leads on large plug in order for it to work. Do not know if the wire problem was my mistake from the original install 8 years ago, but the fix was easy and every thing works fine.
The 7 to 6 coiled cable from etrailer.com came the next day and is exactly as described. After having ordered the same item from another professional online hitch-seller in Texas, paying for the item, and waiting 3 weeks without even a thank you for your order or status of the order, I finally had to call and leave a voicemail, then call back the next day to find out the order might ship on Friday. Needless to say I cancelled the order and called and spoke to Jan at etrailer.com who handled my order and verified each item was in stock and would ship the next day. Boy was I surprised when the driver delivered my package at noon the next day. A real Professional company. Buy with confidence.

Perfectly. I always know the the electrical connection between the Motorhome and the towed vehicle will function as designed whenever I hook the two together.

This is a must have to connect your "toad" to your motorhome. It works very nicely with the Blue Ox Tow Bar Wiring Kit with 4 Diodes.

Since I installed these parts we have towed the Equinox about 20000 miles and havent had any problems with any of the products. They work exceptionally well. Very Happy
