Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 springs provide full-time, first-class support for your truck. With this kit, you get a safer ride and simultaneously protect your vehicle from the strain that comes with constantly hauling heavy loads.

Carrying heavy cargo in your truck bed or trailer puts tremendous stress on your vehicle. Your brakes erode faster, your tires wear unevenly, and handling suffers severely. When towing, you might also experience excessive sway, bottoming out, and even improper and unsafe headlight aim. Fortunately, there is a solution to these problems. By pairing your existing suspension with the LoadLifter 5000, you can seriously beef up your suspension, ensure equal load distribution, and give your vehicle the support it desperately needs. Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 provides up to 5,000 pounds of load-leveling capacity and distributes the weight of your payload to all four wheels. As a result, the stress on your OEM suspension is significantly reduced.

LoadLifter's air bags are adjustable from 5 to 100 psi for precise support, and they can be inflated independently of one another for front-to-rear and side-to-side leveling. They are made of high-quality, two-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber. Most air bags lose air at the ends, where the bag is enclosed with a steel cap, because the steel can rust and corrode over time, creating small holes. The endcaps on Air Lift air bags are fashioned from corrosion-proof Zytel nylon, a material that is both stronger and lighter than steel, ensuring that the air bags won't lose air. Also, LoadLifter 5000 comes with Air Lift's exclusive roll plates, which both protect your air springs and beef up the load capacity of the springs.

This system installs with the included brackets and hardware. Just mount the springs, inflate them, and ride. To inflate the LoadLifter springs, you just have to pump air in through the inflation valves. A line kit is included with the springs so that you can install the valves (one for each spring) in an easily accessible area - typically they are installed on the bumper. If you want to make the springs even easier to use, you can get a compressor and gauge system (sold separately).

Air Lift kits are designed to keep your vehicle at normal ride height. You can find the normal ride height of your vehicle by unloading it and measuring the distance between the bottom edge of your wheel well and the center of the hub. After you find and record this distance, you can regulate the amount of air that you put into your air springs to maintain normal ride height - even when you are hauling a heavy load. You will need to adjust the air pressure in your air bags according to the size of your load.

Along with a lifetime warranty that has no mileage restrictions, Air Lift offers a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. Just install and use LoadLifter 5000 springs for 60 days, and if you are not satisfied at the end of this time, you can remove them from your vehicle and return them for a full product refund. Now that's confidence.

Video Transcript for Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs Installation - 2014 Ford F-150

Today on our 2014 Ford F-150 two-wheel drive, were going to be installing the Air Lifter LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs for the rear axle, part number AL57228. Were going to go ahead and show a comparison of the vehicle with factory suspension versus with the airbags installed. Now, were going to give you some measurements with no load in the bed of the vehicle and with the factory suspension. From the ground to the bottom of the wheel well, were just under 39 inches. Now, well go ahead and put our load into the bed of the vehicle. Were going to put about 1,500 pounds into it, and then well take it out on our test course to show you how it reacts. Now with our weight back in the bed of the vehicle and our airbags installed with 60 PSI, now were at about 38-1/2 inches.

Were pretty close to what the factory ride height was with no weight in it and factory suspension. Now, well go ahead and take it out on our test course again, and youll be able to see how much better the vehicle drives through our test course. Well have less body roll as well as handling the alternating bumps and solid bumps much, much better, giving you more stability as well as a safer and more comfortable ride. Now, were going to begin our installation here underneath the vehicle on the driver side. Now, weve gone ahead and removed the spare tire down out of the way in order for you to see things a little bit better. Now, were going to need to remove the factory bump stop, thats this right here, from both sides.

Well take our 13-milimeter socket. Slide it up underneath. Well then remove the bolt. Go ahead and repeat the same process over on the passenger side. This right here is the emergency brake cable bracket over here on the passenger side.

Now where the bolt goes through and secures it, were going to need to cut that even. Were just going to use a reciprocating saw with a metal blade on it to trim that even. You could use a rotary tool or even just a hacksaw, and cut it off.Next, were going to need to start prepping up our airbags themselves. Were going to need to begin by installing the straight air fitting. It goes into the top of the bag.

Go ahead and thread that in hand-tight. Then, you want to turn it one-and-a-half more turns. Go ahead and repeat that process here on the other bag. Next, were going to need to assemble the roll pan. It goes on the top of the bag like this, and the next piece here youll notice has a beveled edge and then this cutout. It goes around the air fitting and lines up with the two holes in the top of the bag. Then, use the flathead screw like this for this whole here and here. When tightening these down, you dont want to go any more than 20-foot pounds. Well then go ahead and repeat the same process for the other airbag. Now that we have this part complete, we can go ahead and set these aside for now. Next, were going to need to attach the upper bracket. Were going to start over here on the driver side. Again, these are marked with either an L or an R depending the sides. This one will go up in here like this, and this hole here will line up with the hole that we removed the screw holding the bump stop in place. Now to secure it in place, well be using the butt and head bolt, and a flat washer. With the hardware hand-tight, we can go ahead and tighten it down, and then torque it to the manufacturers specification. Well then go ahead and repeat the same process over on the passenger side, making sure that we used the bracket with an R on it. Now that we have our upper bracket secured to the frame, next, were ready to attach the airbag assemblies that we set aside a little bit ago. Go ahead and slide this up here into place, again, making sure we put the right, the left on the proper side. Now, you notice how theres a hole here. It will line up with this bracket. As well as up here on the front, theres a hole that lines up with the front bracket up here. Now, to secure the bag to the upper bracket, we will be using a carriage bolt, a flat washer, and a nylon locknut. Well go ahead and repeat that for the forward mounting location. Now that we have the hardware installed, well go ahead and tighten it down, and then torque it to the manufacturers specification. One, were going to need to remove this little ABS line from the bracket. Just simply pulls up. Set it aside for now.Next, were going to need to install this bracket here, and its going to go around the left side brake line and the left ABS line. Go ahead and open up the bracket. Close it back down. Now that we have our clamp around the left-hand side, were going to need to line it back up with the slot that we removed it from. Next, were going to use a flat washer and this hex bolt to attach the clamp here. We can then go ahead and tighten it down. With that tightened down, using a zip tie, well then need to connect the right side ABS line to the other two lines. Were going to be using a pull-jack to help raise the rear of the vehicle up to give us more working room between the axle and the bottom of the airbag.Next, were ready to attach the lower bracket to the rear axle. Heres what the lower bracket looks like. It can go on either the right or the left-hand side. Well go ahead and push our bag up. Drop the bracket down into position, so that this half is locked between U-bolts on the axle. This piece here is catching the edge of this bracket. I want to make sure that no lines are touching. Next, well be installing four of these long carriage bolts. On the driver side, well be using this hole here as well as the inner hole here. Youll notice how theres two holes. Were using the one closest to the center. Go ahead and drop the carriage bolts down into position. Now that we our four U-bolts emplaced, were going to need to install our clamp bars here. Once you have them emplaced over two of the carriage bolts, youll be installing a flat washer and a nylon hex nut. This will the same hardware you used on each of the four carriage bolts. Now that we have all the hardware loosely installed, well need to tighten down all four nuts evenly. Next, were going to go ahead and install the lower bracket over here on the passenger side. Now that we have our bracket emplaced, on this side, youll notice that theres three longer carriage bolts and one shorter one. Weve got two of the long ones installed on both the inner holes. Now here at this back hole on the outer half, well be putting the shorter carriage bolt in here. On the forward one right here, well be installing the last longer carriage bolt. Next, well go ahead. Here on the two inner carriage bolts, well install the clamp bar. Well be using the flat washer and the nylon lock washers again like we did on the other side. Now, for the outer two carriage bolts, well be using this clamp here for the lower clamp. Now, to get this clamp in here, we found it easiest if you remove the two carriage bolts. Well need to turn the clamp sideways and work it in there like that, and then reinstall your carriage bolt. Well then slide the spacer in place, followed by installing a flat washer and a nylon hex nut on each side. Now that we have all the hardware installed, we can go ahead and tighten it down, and then torque it to the manufacturers specification. Now that we have our lower brackets installed, next were going to move back over here to the driver side. Were going to need to install a roll plate here. It sits up in here like this. Were going to lower down the pull-jack a little bit, so that we have less gap between the bottom of the bag in here to make it a little easier to thread the bolts in the bottom of the bag. Well then be installing the hex bolts. Notice how it has a tapered head here, so you want to make sure you have the right bolt. Put a lock washer on, flat washer, and this will be the same hardware you use at all four mounting locations, two on each side, to secure the lower portion of the bag to the lower bracket. As per the instructions, just tighten down the hardware securely. Now, were ready to go ahead and choose our location to mount our air line fittings as well as route our air lines. Were going to need to find the center of our air hose somewhere right in here. We then go ahead and take a tubing cutter or a razor knife, just something thats not going to squeeze the line and damage it. You want to also make sure that you get a good clean straight cut. Go ahead and drill two five-sixteenths holes to allow our fittings to go through. Now that we have our holes drilled, next, were going to need to install some hardware on to the valve.Go ahead and thread our jam nut on first. Well then add a star washer, then reach in behind. Push the fitting out. Well install a rubber washer, another flat washer. Finally, the second jam nut. Once you have that done, and there is a plastic cap that goes over the top of the fitting. Go ahead and repeat the same process for the other line. Then, go ahead and take our wrench, and tighten down the nuts, securing the valve in place. Next, well need to take our air lines. Well need to route them up to each of the airbags. Now when routing the air line, make sure you stay away from any areas that have moving parts, can become hot, or have sharp edges as all of these could easily damage the air line tubing. Well also be using a few zip ties along the way to help secure the air line tubing. Now that we have our air line tubing routed, go ahead and get the correct length and holding it up. Well need to trim it to length using our tubing cutter. With our tubing cut, we can go ahead and put it in the fitting here, the top side of the airbag. You line it up. Push straight down in, so that it goes into place, and you gently pull back out. You want to make sure it doesnt come back out. Go ahead and repeat the same process for the other line. Now over here on the passenger side, there is a heat sleeve thats designed to go over the air line tubing and help protect it from the heat from the exhaust. Now, were going to go ahead and remove this spare tire heat-shield, so that you can see things a little bit easier. Now, were going to need to install this heat-shield here that comes with the kit. You want to put it in the closest point between the bag and the exhaust. Now, you can bend this to help form to the exhaust. To attach it, well be using a couple hose clamps. Next, were ready to go ahead and put 30 PSI in each of the airbags, and then well spray down our connections and check for any leaks using a soapy water solution. Were going to need to install spare tire heat-shield. Once you have your PSI set in the airbags, you once again want to check the air pressure after 24-hour period. A 2 to 4 PSI loss after the initial installation is normal. If you lose more than 5 PSI, you will want to recheck for leaks. You also want to make sure that you dont go any lower than 5 PSI in the airbags nor higher than 100 PSI in the airbags as these are designed to have a working range of 5 to 100 PSI. That will do it for the installation of the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Spring for the rear axle, part number AL57228 on our 2014 F-150 two-wheel drive. .

The addition of the Air Lift is by far something I should have done years ago. I was short in time so I had my local Midas shop install them. They work so well. I only needed 20 lbs. of pressure to level the truck and trailer. On the road, the trailer rode better, braking felt better, and the up and down motion I disliked going over bumps is gone. Awesome product for safety while towing. 568497

Greetings ...... Very detailed directions enclosed with product. Air lift kit is doing exactly what I needed to have done , raising rear bumper of my '06 F150 to tow RV to prevent sagging and sway. Was considering air shocks, until air lift kit appeared on my radar. 496910

It has changed the ride on my vehicle for everyday driving. It is a very rough ride. 667714

The nice feature of air springs is that you can custom tailor the ride to just about any situation. Carrying a full load?- Add more air for less sag and more stability. Less weight on the vehicle when youre not hauling? - Let some air out of the suspension for a softer, more pliable ride.

Awesome product fairly easy to install. Noticed a big difference when towing vehicle feels great and handling was improved. Vehicle would squat when towing a 25 foot trailer now sits leveled and has a firm ride. 679869

Review from a similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 in Vehicle Suspension

High quality and heavy duty. Good instructions as well. Just got them installed yesterday on my 2009 F-150 crew cab with 6.5' box. I also have the B&W turnover gooseneck ball hitch and my main concern was still being able to mount these. Fit like a charm, no interference at all. I wish I would have purchased them sooner. Sometimes we haul loads that might be just a bit heavy for an F-150, but we are careful. These will certainly help. I have similar air bag type suspensions install on our other two work trucks and I love them. What I did was got myself a 1/4" compression tee and plumbed both air bags into one valve. That way, they air up evenly. It comes with everything to air up each bag separately but I prefer them to be the same. They cost about $6 at any hardware store. I mounted the single air fill valve near the drivers tail light inside the box facing forward. There is an opening where the tail light harness runs up and I followed that with the air valve. I drilled a hole and snaked a tie wire down and through some finagling I managed to get the valve out the hole and mounted. Looks good and is out of the way. Install took me about 5 hours from tools out to tools away, but I was not in a big hurry. I aired them up to 70 psi and drove home looking like a hot rod with the back kicked up. Checked the air pressure this morning and all is well. No leaks as far as I can tell. Highly recommended and a great price as well. 643462

Have had the air bags installed for 3-4 weeks now. Love them! Huge difference in ride quality when hauling or towing heavy loads. My only criticism is in the design. The left side fit perfect and the bag is perfectly aligned vertically but the right side bag is canted slightly. Almost as if the bottom brackets holes are drilled slightly off. I called the company and was told that up to 15 degrees is acceptable. It just looks as though the bag may wear more but time will tell I guess. I would still recommend. Also looking at purchasing the compressor system to ensure the bags always have adequate pressure. 421216

I have a 2019 Nissan Titan XD with the 5.6 GAS motor. Wanted to do an Airlift suspension to provide a little support and get my headlights perfectly back to level when towing my travel trailer. No one makes an airbag kit for the gas XD, but after discussing it some with John H at etrailer, I decided to go with the kit for the diesel truck and see how things went. The kit for the diesel truck fit perfectly, except that there is an emissions component hung from a bracket on the driver's sign frame that prevents a direct install of the driver's side bag. My shop was able to install the kit with no trouble - they just had to bend the bracket with the small emissions component attached upwards for clearance. Everything else went in as designed. Great fit - can't wait to see it work under load. 669525

One year later I still like these airbags. My truck rides level and handles smoothly. Without a load, however, its stiff in back and bounces, even with the airbags deflated.

Came well packaged, all itsy bitsy parts accounted for. Says no drilling required but you will need a cutting wheel or hacksaw to cut a bolt off. Instructions are pretty good but pictures sometimes don't show exactly what you need to know. My favorite part 2 hrs install. We all know that means at least 4. One more hour and I'll be finished. 426268

  • What Size Air Bag Spacer Do I Need for a 2012 Ford F-150
It can be rather difficult to give an exact answer on the correct lift spacer for air bags to use with a lifted truck as not all lift kits are the same. Therefore, measuring is needed to determine the correct size or you could always buy both and return the one you don't need. The reason for this is that although the manufacturer of the lift kit may state it is a 6" lift, most of the time it does not indeed lift the truck that much. Also, there is a factory rake so the kit could also lift/level...
