Specs:
Firestone Ride-Rite springs are designed to increase safety and reduce the strain on your vehicle when you are hauling heavy loads or towing a heavy trailer. The springs partner with your existing rear suspension system to help keep your vehicle level, maintain even load distribution and increase stability. Hauling heavy loads or towing a heavy trailer can make the rear of your vehicle sag and the front end rise. This puts more strain on your rear axle and reduces contact between your front tires and the road, causing problems with braking, steering control and traction. By adding air springs to your rear suspension, you can help to level your vehicle and improve braking and handling. The air springs also help to level your headlight beams and reduce wear on your tires.
Adjustable Air Pressure
The air pressure in your Ride-Rite springs can be adjusted manually, side to side, to compensate for off-center loads. A centered load improves the stability of your vehicle by reducing body roll. The air springs will also help to absorb road shock and to soften contact between your axle and frame. This prevents bottoming out, thus improving ride comfort. Route the air line tubing for the springs to your vehicle's bumper to provide easy access to the manual inflation valves.
Air Spring Construction
Firestone's double-convoluted Ride-Rite air springs are designed to give you maximum load support and enhance the performance and ride comfort of your vehicle. The rubber springs provide cushioning between your suspension components and operate at up to 100 psi. The springs have four layers of reinforced rubber to ensure durability and enhance load support. A braided wire girdle creates the double-convoluted shape of each air spring, increasing the burst pressure of the spring. The rubber springs are attached to corrosion-resistant metal end plates with a time-proven, rolled crimp seal that keeps the bags securely anchored.
Air Spring Installation
Each Ride-Rite kit includes custom-fit brackets that connect to your axle and frame. The brackets provide the mounting points for the air springs. Drilling may be required for some applications.

The install was somewhat difficult on the first side, trying to get the blind nuts inside the frame lined up to start threading the bolts in, but second side took 1/4 as long. Aired up the bags to about 15% to take a test drive, very impressed with the solid smooth feel of the rear suspension along with a quiet ride. Ready to tow.
The parts that we bought (air bag kit for F150) was somewhat simple to install and works great!
Very happy with this product.
Would recommend this product!
It came in box with no packing, just a jumble of parts bouncing around the box that looked like it may have opened during shipping. Also no parts list and no instructions
Quick install. watch the video that is available on etrailer it is much better than the directions that come with the product. 9 Just Ordered Another One For My Neighbor.
My first time ever-mounting the F252 in any vehicle I own. I was dubious as to whether I could install the item myself. And truthfully, installing the first (left) side took about an hour and a half. I have to say without the instructions being as clear and precise as they are, I would have given up and sent them back.
The (right) side was, I will say a "Snap". Thirty minutes more and the set was in and ready to pressure test. In conclusion, following the instructions and the will to get the job done has given me a feeling of being safer when hauling heavier loads with my F-150. The stability the F252 adds to hauling cargo and distribution of load from back suspension to front suspension makes hauling a much safer and sounder way to drive as well as carryl loads on my trailer.
Product was as described. Installation video was most helpful as were the written instructions. Bending the bolt plates was absolutely necessary and was the most difficult part of the installation. I dropped one inside the frame, after retrieving, 30 minutes later, I drilled small holes in the handles and put a piece of wire thru them so they could be easily retrived if dropped again. Tested as recommended with 70 lbs of pressure and the truck's rear end popped up about 4-5 inches! Can't wait to try then with the trailer!
Levels my truck and gives a much smoother ride when pulling our 5th wheel.
Just about everything about buying, installing and using the air suspension is 5 Star. As a novice at these things, I did have sort of an issue. I could not seem to get uniform pressure in the bags. I would think I was at say 25 and the next thing I knew it would be 15. I emailed etrailer.com and they immediately provided me a phone number for the manufacturer. One call later, I pulled out the valve stems and let some minuscule debris come out (likely from the tube cutting) and they have worked perfect every since. For the cost and effort involved, I will never be without an air suspension again.
The airbags work flawlessly. installation was easy. The etrailor install video made it a snap. Ordering was painless as usual
My package arrived on time just as expected and installation was as easy as described. I used an etrailer installation video to further explain installation. Very satisfied with the product and love the ride of the truck with the helper springs. Thanks!
The airbags installed in about 2 hours and have worked great.
It was easier to install the ride rite air helper springs than to remove the wheels from my ford f 150. Note. The nuts are a type that need no lock washers. so they go on with a degree of effort. You will need an air ratchet with at least 80 fp lbs torque. Or a very large forearm. Follow the online instructions and with average mechanical skill and basic tools installation is not too difficult. Faster an easier with air tools. Shipping from E Trailer.com was better than expected. One day ahead of scheduled delivery. Ran a road test with my 29 foot trailer and felt noticeably more solid. Excellent product and supplier. PS. Get a 9/16 deeeep well socket.
Product was as described, It arrived on time and etrailer.com did there job well with helpful videos and advise.
I would advise having a good lift to install these air springs I didn't and it was a challenge and took much longer than expected. I installed the air springs on a 2013 F150 4x4 super cab and jacked the truck up and did it from a creeper on the floor. It just took longer than I had hoped but the installation and instructions were fine and the product seems of good quality.
After one year of owning the Firestone air bag kit I couldn't be happier!! I should have put them in before I picked up my 28 ft travel trailer. Much improved handling and very little bounce over big ruts. They never leak down. I definitely recmmend them.
Quality product right out of the box! Works as advertised!
Installation was well documented in the instructions. It probably took me longer than some because my wheels had bonded to the hubs and would not easily release. After installation was completed, they worked very well. When not carrying a load I lower the air pressure to about 10lbs and the smoother ride is restored. I use them primarily for towing and have been very happy with them.
Haven't had a chance to install but the bags were delivered very quickly. The install video that Etrailer has on them is great. Worth the look.
I purchased these to use when pulling our new travel trailer. Installation went exactly as the video portrayed. I was 2 miles down the road pulling our trailer when I could feel the difference. Huge difference! Highly recommend. Totally worth the purchase price.
I'm giving this 4 stars because I do not have installed on my 2012 F-150 yet. Based on the reviews and input from my installer, I believe this to be an excellent product.
I have bought numerous items from eTrailer over the past year and I have never dealt with a better company. Advice has always been helpful, service impeccable. Staff has been pleasant and extremely helpful in resolving minor problems. Delivery is quicker than most and products usually shipped same day. Your have a customer for life. Thank you.
Good quality product, instructions are clear and kit was complete.
The frame-mounting with the tabs is cheezy, and quite difficult on the driver side where access hole to the frame is obstructed by wiring/hydraulic lines. I recommend a solution that only uses access from outside of frame -- like a toggle bolt... after all the torque was only 20 ft-lb.
Works great, install was relatively easy, videos from etrailer.com were a huge help. Someone asked the question if the Ford rear wheel well liners (aftermarket accessory) were compatible with this product. I can confirm that yes they are compatible, but you will need to cut about a 2" x 7" strip out of the liner around the upper frame bracket. It will be very obvious what you need to cut, and it is very simple to do (a sturdy pair of scissors or a pair of tin shears will work to make the cut). Once the frame bracket is installed and the wheel liner pushed into place above it, you won't even be able to tell it has been cut.
Everytime I order from eTrailer the products arrive faster and the installation gets more enjoyable. I used the air bag system to correct trailer sway and vehicle sag on my '09 F150. Putting these brackets on the suspension was awsome with only three common hand tools and the results are wonderful. I needed the adjustability of air ride to compensate for light loads when empty and of course heavy trailer weight when pulling a 20ft enclosed v-nose. This system allows me to maintain level vehicle travel with just a portable air tank and a low pressure tire PSI gauge.
The air bags are great quality products, but some of the hardware is very poor quality. While I was installing the ublots over the leaf springs to the bottom of the bracket the stamped or pressed to deform lock nuts seized up and I snapped off half the threaded portion of the ubolt which itself should've been of grade 8. Love the kit just very disappointed with the hardware
Ordered some Firestone Ride Rite airbags for my 2010 F 150 from Etrailer. Three days later they arrived. No damage to the items, all parts were included with all instructions and hardware. They also answered my emails with questions concerning the product in a very speedy manner. Great Service!!!!! I will definitely do business with Etrailer in the future!!!!
The product is very high quality, well built and designed. Installed easily in about an hour and a half. Watching the online video helped. Inflated them to 40 psig to start with trailer attached, still had a little bounce so I went to 50 psig. That completely cured the problem. I used a bicycle pump with a built in gauge it worked great to accurately set the pressure. Not much pumping because it is a low volume of air. It did make the ride much more firm. Set the air back to 5 psig when not towing feels like they are not even on the truck. Made the towing experience much more enjoyable. No sea sick passengers.
