Airflow makes or breaks how your Transit feels inside. Without it, the space can feel closed in and stuffy. Adding this sliding window turns that solid panel into a screened, tinted opening that lets air and light into that section.
This double-slider window replaces the fixed glass in the passenger side sliding door of your Ford Transit. Instead of a sealed panel in the main entry door, the front and rear glass sections slide independently so you can vent from either side or open both at the same time. Each panel uses a spring-loaded latch to hold it where you set it.
When the glass is open, the mesh screen keeps bugs out of the sliding door opening so the van can vent while you're parked. The pleated shade gives you a way to cover that large door window when you're sleeping inside or leaving tools and gear in the cargo area. You can run the screen and shade together, separately, or retract both for a clear opening.
The sliding door is one of the largest glass sections on the Transit and sits at eye level from outside. The 12% gray tint limits how much someone can see into the van while still allowing visibility out. It also blocks 88% of UV rays, reducing sun exposure through that door glass.
Cutting into the sliding door panel is permanent. The frame has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the door skin. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it is set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.
After the opening is cut, urethane primer is applied around the opening before a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW84ZR - sold separately) is applied. Once the window is pressed into place, the urethane bonds the frame to the body and forms the weather seal that keeps water out. Consistent bead thickness helps create a proper seal, and the window is taped in position while the urethane cures.

Hi, everyone, Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at this Van Windows Direct double sliding window for the passenger side sliding door of your Ford Transit. So folks, this is a custom fit, looks like it's going to fit the 2015 through current year of the Ford Transit. Any wheel base, but it does not work with any of the Transit Connect. So make sure you're checking that fit guide, be sure you're entering the year, make, and model. Be sure you're getting the right parts the very first time.
Now the big feature of this window today is its double sliding design. So not only can I open this window right here, I can also choose to open the other window. Very simple. It also features two different kinds of shade. If I want a white kind of hidden shade, I can do that one.
And then these are magnetized. So the bottom one if I pull up is just like a screen mesh. So let's say I had the window open and I wanted to keep bugs out. I could do that. And then again, where these two meet, they are magnetic.
So that's why they are sticking together. There's a magnet strip here and here to keep these together. Now this is going to be great, because if you don't have any sliding windows on the van, this can allow air to get in. It can give you much cooler interior. It does have a nice 12% gray solar tint, and that's going to give you privacy, reduce glare, and also block about 88% of those harmful UV rays.
And again, this has been designed to follow the factory contour of your passenger side door. It's going to fit an OE style fit. You do want to install this using an automotive grade urethane, which will bond the window to the door and create that weathertight seal. And just keep in mind urethane is sold separately. I'll put those item numbers on the screen. This would probably be considered a large window. So you're going to use that item number VW74ZR on the left there as far as the black urethane. And then you're probably going to need a caulk gun if you don't have one, and you probably are going to need some primer in the securing tape as well. So you can check the instructions and decide what you need. Or if you don't want to install it yourself, you can always go over to our install locator link. I do want to carefully try to spin this one so you can get a side view about how thick this is, but I also want to show you the rear part here. So bear with me. Keep in mind now you're looking at it from the inside out. But again, this is the passenger side. So again, you can open and close both sides. You can pull down the shades or pull up the shades. And it just gives you a nice finish look on the window and on the interior of that van. So again, folks, this is the passenger side, double sliding door window.
