Airflow makes or breaks how your ProMaster feels inside. Without it, the space can feel closed in and stuffy. Adding this sliding window turns that solid panel into a screened, tinted opening that lets air and light into that section.
This sliding window replaces the fixed glass panel on your Ram ProMaster, whether it is in the sliding door or forward side position. Instead of a sealed section of glass, one portion slides open to create a vent in that panel. When you're parked, sleeping inside, or working out of the van, that opening lets air move through the cabin instead of leaving the panel closed off.
When the glass is slid open, the integrated mesh screen stays in place to block insects from entering through the opening. The spring-loaded latch holds the panel where you set it so the glass stays positioned while you're driving or parked.
The ProMaster panels sit at eye level from outside and create a direct view into the cargo area. The 17% gray tint limits how much someone can see inside while still allowing visibility out. It also reduces UV exposure through that section of glass.
Cutting into a ProMaster panel is permanent. The frame has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the body. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it is set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.
After the opening is cut, a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW74ZR - sold separately) is applied around the perimeter. When the window is set into place, that urethane bonds the frame to the body panel and forms the seal that keeps water from entering the wall cavity. This bond holds the window in place and creates the weather barrier so you can vent that section without opening the panel.

Hi everyone. Steve here with the etrailer. Today we're taking a look at our Van Windows Direct SE Series Sliding Window for your 2014 through current year Ram ProMaster any wheelbase. So, folks, any wheelbase on those Dodge ProMaster vans, make sure you're checking the fit guide. Be sure you're checking it to make sure that sometimes these videos can be outdated, maybe if it's newer years, models and stuff. So always, always check the fit guide over at etrailer.com.
Be sure you're getting the right parts the first time. So, folks, what we're looking at here is a great upgrade for those vans. So if you're camping, sleeping, working out of your ProMaster vans, you know just how hot, how muggy, right It can get inside of here, so, this is gonna do multiple things. It's gonna let air inside, air vent out. It's gonna let me see things outside more easy.
It's gonna let light in. It's gonna make the inside of my van feel a lot larger. This is what we call a half slider. I have the option of just sliding the glass and leaving the screen there. I can also slide the screen if I want, but it is just sliding and it's gonna latch into place when it's closed with ease.
So zooming in here, right here's my latch. Spring load it, pull it out. I can open that window here all the way. I have a screen if I want to do the screen as well. I can close both of them at once.
(latch clicking) And you heard it automatically latch. From there, you can kinda see from the inside the van looking out, you can see through there a little bit better. So it's kinda like looking through a pair of shades, sunglasses, something of that nature. That's what I always tell people when they ask about these windows. They do have a 17% privacy tint on the outside. That's gonna block about 83% of UV rays. As you can see, it does a great job reflecting light. That's my overhead lights here in the studio. And it does a great job of reflecting that light back out almost like a mirror, so, from the outside looking in, you can kinda still see me waving my hand, but from the inside out, you can see a lot clearer. It's just a great option. Now as far as installation, you can do it yourself. You got to cut a hole in the van. It should be already kind of outlined, if you will, where this is gonna go. You will need some automotive-grade urethane. I recommend the one for large windows with two tubes. And, of course, the caulk gun if you need one, the tape and the primer if you need all those.
