Features to know about

Fixed Sliding Door Glass

This window replaces the solid metal panel in the passenger side sliding door of your Ford Transit. Instead of a blank section in the main entry door, you gain a fixed glass panel that adds visibility and light without introducing a vent or moving parts. It keeps the door sealed while opening up the side of the van.

Tempered Safety Glass

The sliding door sees constant use, so the glass has to handle normal door movement. This panel uses tempered safety glass that meets DOT and SAE standards. If damaged, tempered glass fractures into small pieces rather than sharp shards.

17% Gray Solar Privacy Tint

The sliding door is one of the largest glass sections on the Transit and sits at eye level from outside. The 17% gray tint limits how much someone can see into the van while still allowing visibility out. It also blocks 83% of UV rays, reducing sun exposure through that door glass.

OE-Style Ford Transit Sliding Door Panel Fit

Cutting into the sliding door panel is permanent. The glass has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the door skin. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it is set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.

Urethane-Bonded Sliding Door Installation

After the opening is cut, a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW84ZR - sold separately) is applied around the perimeter. When the glass is set into place, that urethane bonds it to the door frame and forms the seal that keeps water from entering the interior cavity. This bond secures the glass and creates the weather barrier so you can bring in light without adding a vented opening.

Video Transcript for Review of Van Windows Direct Van Windows - Fixed Window - VW32VR

Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Van Windows Direct Fixed Window for the passenger side sliding door of a 2015 through current year Ford Transit, passenger sliding door, any wheel base, as long as it is not the Transit Connect. Again, this will not work with the Transit Connect vans. So if you're starting up with your cargo van, that solid metal door can make the inside feel pretty dark, dingy, closed off. If you replace that panel with a pane of glass like this, it's going to be a simple way to bring outside natural light inside of the van area.

It's going to open it up, it's going to feel better. You're going to be able to see outside, and you're going to basically be looking through like a pair of shades, if you will. You can see the reflection of the studio lights. It's doing a great job of reflecting light. So you really can see through it, if you're honest, but you can't see through it too much from the outside.

But on the inside, you can see out. I won't be able to show you too much of that, but you'll get the gist of it hopefully. But you can still see through here. You can see my hand back there. And you have like a perimeter, if you will, of solid glazing.

So this is a 17% gray privacy tint, and that's going to limit someone from outside seeing inside, like I was just mentioning, but it's also going to keep out about 83% of those UV rays. Now, because this is glass, you will need to cut the metal on your glass door, that pop-out. You're going to trace that and cut it out, per the instructions. You will need, sold separately, if you're going to do the install yourself, some of these items, mainly the urethane, the primer, the caulk gun, and the sealant tape, probably. This is considered a large window, so you want to make sure you use that large window kit there on the left, the urethane, to make sure you have enough.

That being said, if you don't want to tackle the install yourself, no worries. You can always use our Installer Locator link, below on the page. And based on your zip code, we can help pair you up with trusted etrailer installation locations around the nation. Now again, folks, this is a fixed window. That urethane is not only going to hold it in place, it's going to be the weather seal once it cures fully. And that's going to make it, again, just like an OE window, looking like it came from the factory, feeling nice, clean, and giving your van a nice upgrade. Well, folks, that's going to wrap up our look together. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.

Just installed the final window ordered through etrailer. We purchased two bunk windows and two fixed glass windows for our Transit van. etrailer has been absolutely great to work with. All windows were shipped quickly and arrived very well packaged. We had a problem with one window (wrong window was shipped) but the folks at etrailer (shout out to Sara) got us taken care of quickly and with no fuss. We had the wrong window picked up and the new correct window delivered so quickly! I would not hesitate to purchase van windows from this company in the future!

Nice window, well packaged. Curve of the window from front to back did not quite match the sliding door, but I suspect the metal relaxed after I cut that giant hole, not necessarily a defect in the glass. Just make sure you use plenty of the adhesive. No instructions included at all, so watch some YouTube videos and you’ll figure it out. Not hard, just nerve wracking cutting a giant hole in the door.
