Light changes how your Transit feels inside. Without it, the forward section stays dark and harder to use. This fixed forward side panel window swaps that solid section for glass, bringing in daylight and visibility without creating an open window.
This window replaces the solid metal panel in the driver-side forward position of your Ford Transit. Instead of a blank wall along the front section of the van, you gain a fixed glass panel that adds visibility and natural light without introducing vents or moving parts. That area stays sealed while opening up the side of the cabin.
The forward panel moves with the body as you drive, so the glass has to handle normal chassis flex. This window uses tempered safety glass that meets DOT and SAE standards for road use. If damaged, tempered glass fractures into small pieces rather than sharp shards.
The forward side panel sits at eye level from outside and creates a clear sightline into the cabin. The 17% gray tint limits how much someone can see inside while still allowing visibility out. It also blocks 83% of UV rays, reducing sun exposure through that section of glass.
Cutting into the forward side panel is permanent. The glass has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the body. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it is set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.
After the opening is cut, a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW84ZR - sold separately) is applied around the perimeter. When the glass is set into place, that urethane bonds it to the body panel and forms the seal that keeps water from entering the wall cavity. This bond secures the glass and creates the weather barrier so you can bring in light without adding a vented opening.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Van Windows direct, fixed, OE-style driver's side forward side panel window. Now, this has been designed to fit your 2015 to current Ford Transit, the T150, T250, and T350. On custom-fit parts such as this window, I do recommend going through our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer. Pop-in the year, make and model of your vehicle and our fit guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. So this window is designed to replace the driver's side forward panel with an OEM-style fit and appearance.
So it's going to blend in cleanly with the rest of your van. This features a fixed, non-opening design, making this a great choice for you to consider if you want to add natural light without creating another vent or opening in the vehicle. This is tempered glass and it does meet the DOT and the SAE safety standards. And this is going to be installed with automotive urethane, which is not included with this panel. Just like a factory window, it's going to be installed with that urethane.
So that's going to help give you a secure, weather-resistant seal. So on your screen, I am going to put up a part number for a kit that's going to include that urethane and everything that you're going to need to get this installed. So basically, after the opening is cut in your van, you're going to put a continuous bead of automotive urethane and it's going to be applied around the perimeter. And then, when this glass is set into place, that urethane is going to actually bond to the body panel and it's going to form that seal that's going to keep the water from entering the wall cavity. That bond is going to secure the glass and it's also going to create that weather barrier that you need.
So you're going to be able to bring in light without adding a vented opening. As you can see, we do have some tinting with this and this is a 17% gray tint. So I'm kind of hiding behind the glass here. I know you see quite a bit of reflection there for what's going on in front of me, but it blocks me out pretty well. So that's a 17% gray tint.
So that's going to give you added privacy while still allowing you to see out. And it's going to block about 83% of UV rays to help reduce sun exposure inside of your van. Now, this is designed to fit both medium and high roof models that use the same forward panel stamping. So again, this is going to be a direct replacement for those fitments that we talked about at the beginning of our time together. Giving you some measurements here. The overall length at the longest point here, we're sitting right at about 54 3/8 inches. And then the overall height, about 29 1/8 inches. Now, if you think you might want some help with installation, on this product page, underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Click that link, answer the questions that it has for you and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to help you with the install. So I think it's going to wrap up our look today. Again, my name's Andy. Thanks for joining me.
