Highlights

  • OE-Style Sliding Door Fit: Formed to match the factory Sprinter sliding door stamping.
  • Half-Slider Window Design: Front-opening sliding glass panel allows adjustable airflow.
  • Built-In Mesh Screen: Helps keep insects out when the window is open.
  • Spring-Loaded Latch: Holds the sliding panel in the open or closed position.
  • 17% Gray Solar Tint: Reduces glare while maintaining visibility.
  • Urethane-Bonded Installation: Installs with automotive urethane to form the primary seal.

Features to know about

Front-Opening Half-Slider Operation

This sliding window replaces the fixed glass in the passenger side sliding door of your Sprinter. Instead of a sealed panel in the main entry door, the front-opening glass section slides forward to create a vent along the center of the van. When you're parked, cooking inside, or sleeping overnight, that opening lets air move through the sliding door instead of leaving it closed off.

Built-In Mesh Screen And Latch

When the glass is slid open, the integrated mesh screen stays in place to block insects from entering through the door opening. The spring-loaded latch holds the panel where you set it so the glass remains positioned while you're driving or parked.

17% Gray Solar Privacy Tint

The sliding door is one of the largest glass sections on the Sprinter and sits at eye level from outside. The 17% gray tint limits how much someone can see into the van while still allowing visibility out. It also reduces UV exposure through that door glass.

OE-Style Sprinter Sliding Door Panel Fit

Cutting into the sliding door panel is permanent. The frame has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the door skin. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it is set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.

Urethane-Bonded Door Installation

After the opening is cut, a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW84ZR - sold separately) is applied around the perimeter. When the window is set into place, that urethane bonds the frame to the door and forms the seal that keeps water from entering the interior cavity. This bond holds the window in place and creates the weather barrier so you can vent that section without opening the panel.

Video Transcript for Review of Van Windows Direct Van Windows - Half-Slider Window - VW36VR

Hi, everyone, Steve here with etrailer. Let's take a look at this Van Windows Direct SE-Series Sliding Window for the Passenger Side Sliding Door of your 2007-2009 Dodge Sprinter or an '07 to 2021 Freightliner Sprinter, or even the 2010 through current year Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. All those Sprinters, any wheel base, doesn't matter. That being said, make sure you're double-checking the fit guide over at etrailer.com. Enter things like your make and model, make sure you're getting the right parts the very first time. So, folks, if you're gonna be camping, cooking, spending a lot of time inside your Sprinter, maybe you're gonna turn this like, a work, mobile work vehicle or something, having some airflow is gonna be crucial, right So this is a half-slider, so half of the window slides, obviously.

We do have a nice screen over there so we can keep the bugs and those kind of things out. This is gonna allow us to get some fresh air inside the vans, get some light in there, natural ventilation, natural light. It's gonna be healthier for you. It's gonna actually make your van feel bigger inside, just like mirrors do in a house and windows do in a house. Windows can do a lot for making it look bigger.

Now, again, this is what we call a half-slider design. This has a spring-loaded latch on the backside here. I'll spin it around for you in a moment. And basically that just keeps it closed whenever it is over that latch and it springs closed. As I mentioned, you got a built-in mesh screen that's gonna stay in place when the window's open.

If you do need to take it out to clean it, you can do so. Just be very gentle when you do that, follow the instructions, those kind of things. Now, this window's been formed to match the factory stamping of the Sprinter sliding door, so it's gonna give you that OE-style appearance once it is installed. Now, once it's installed or when you are installing it, you're gonna need to cut through the metal of the van, obviously. And then you're gonna wanna use automotive-grade urethane, sold separately, to do the install.

That urethane's gonna do two things. It's gonna be a bonding agent and it's also gonna be the primary weather seal. Now, if you don't wanna tackle the install yourself, we got you covered. There should be a link if you scroll down on this page or on the product page that says something to the effect of Install Location, Install Locator. Click that link, type in your zip code, and we can help find trusted etrailer installation places in your area based on your zip code all across the nation. Now, getting back to the window, I do wanna go ahead and zoom in here a little bit and kind of show you this sliding mechanism. So this is that spring-loaded latch I was talking about. So when this fully closes, it automatically closes. Now, I'll be honest, I'm not gonna be able to open it up right now again because it took two people to do it the first time. It's not installed, obviously. So when it's installed, you can easily grab this and pull it open with ease. Right now, it's really loose, so it's not gonna do its thing until it's fully installed. But I did wanna give you a look in the back. And now, zoomed in, you can kind of see. You can see me through here, but it does a great job at reflecting light. You can see my overhead lights here in the studio when I tilt it at the right angle. That's gonna do a great job of bouncing those UV rays off. The glass has a 17% privacy tint. And of course, this is a safety glass, and it's made for all DOT, SAE standards and those kind of things. So you can rest assured it's gonna be safe and lasts for as long as you have the vehicle. Well, folks, that's gonna wrap up our time together. I'm Steven. Thanks so much for watching. As always, have a great day.
