Features to know about

Fixed Rear Quarter Glass

This window replaces the solid metal panel in the passenger-side rear quarter of your 148-inch extended wheelbase Ford Transit. Instead of a blank section along the back side of the van, you gain a fixed glass panel that brings light into the cargo area without adding vents or moving parts. That section stays sealed while opening up visibility.

Tempered Safety Glass

The glass is tempered and meets DOT and SAE standards for road use. Tempered construction allows it to handle normal vehicle movement and, if broken, it fractures into small pieces rather than sharp shards.

17% Gray Solar Privacy Tint

The rear quarter panel sits at eye level from outside and creates a direct view into the cargo space. The 17% gray tint limits how much someone can see inside while still allowing visibility out. It also blocks 83% of UV rays, reducing sun exposure through that section of glass.

OE-Style Ford Transit Rear Quarter Panel Fit

Cutting into the rear quarter panel is permanent. The glass has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the body. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it is set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.

Urethane-Bonded Side Panel Installation

After the opening is cut, a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW74ZR - sold separately) is applied around the perimeter. When the glass is set into place, that urethane bonds it to the body panel and forms the seal that keeps water from entering the wall cavity. This bond secures the glass and creates the weather barrier so you can bring in light without adding a vented opening.

Video Transcript for Review of Van Windows Direct Van Windows - Fixed Window Passenger Side Rear Quarter - VW62VR

Hi, everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Van Windows Direct fixed rear quarter window for the passenger side of a 2015 through current Ford Transit rear quarter passenger side. Now you do need to have the 148 inch extended wheel base, and this will not fit a Ford Transit Connect. So again, make sure it's a 148 extended wheel base and it's a regular Ford Transit. So folks, make sure you're double checking that with the fit guide over at etrailer.com.

Enter things like year, make and model. Be sure you get the right parts the very first time. Now if you have a cargo van like those transit vans and you want to get some light in there and stuff, maybe you we inchesre making a kind of camper, mobile workspace whatnot, this window will replace the solid portion of the metal of that rear quarter panel with this glass. And then it's going to bring in this natural light and give you just a great view of outside. From behind it, the tint's going to look like you're looking through a pair of shades.

It's a 17% privacy tint. It is going to do a great job of blocking up to 83% of all UV rays. It's a tempered safety glass. So it does meet all DOT and SAE standards for safety. And it does follow the factory contour of that van as you can see.

So it's going to match up perfectly with their bump outs and stuff. So obviously installation is going to be something you may want to tackle yourself. If you do, you will need some black urethane sold separately for installation. This is a must required part you're going to need. You may need a caulk gun, primer, sealing safe, those kind of things as well.

I'll put them on the screen there for you. Just keep in mind you're obviously going to be cutting through the metal, so you're going to need some kind of cutting saw, whether it's a reciprocating saw, jigsaw, something of that nature, die grinder. Our technicians like the jigsaw. They said it gives them the most control as far as speed, durability and everything. And they recommend covering everything with tape. Obviously measure twice, cut once. Make sure you're doing it correctly. Now that being said, if you're like, "Hey, Steve, I don't want to cut a hole in my van. I don't know what I'm doing." No problem. You can scroll down below the product pictures and videos here on the product page. And there should be a link says something to the effect of install locator. Click on that install locator link based on your zip code we can pair you up with trusted technicians in your area that we are affiliated with. So from the side here, you can see it's got a little curve that matches the contour of the van. And then on the backside, if you're looking in from the inside out, that's what it looks like there. So again, it's really just like looking through a pair of shades, sunglasses, something of that nature. It's a very nice tint and it's a very nice sturdy piece of glass. Well, folks, that's going to wrap up our time together. I'm Steven, thanks so much for watching and have a great day.
