Light changes how your Transit feels inside. Without it, the middle section stays dark and harder to use. This fixed side panel window swaps that solid section for glass, bringing in daylight and visibility without creating an open window.
This window replaces the solid metal panel in the driver-side middle position of your Ford Transit. Instead of a blank wall along the center of the van, you gain a fixed glass panel that adds visibility and natural light without adding vents or moving parts. That section stays sealed while opening up the side of the van.
The middle panel moves with the body as you drive, so the glass has to handle normal chassis flex. This panel uses tempered safety glass that meets DOT and SAE standards. If damaged, tempered glass fractures into small pieces rather than sharp shards.
The middle side panel sits at eye level from outside and creates a clear sightline into the cabin or cargo space. The 17% gray tint limits how much someone can see inside while still allowing visibility out. It also blocks 83% of UV rays, reducing sun exposure through that section of glass.
Cutting into the middle side panel is permanent. The glass has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the body. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it is set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.
After the opening is cut, a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW84ZR - sold separately) is applied around the perimeter. When the glass is set into place, that urethane bonds it to the body panel and forms the seal that keeps water from entering the wall cavity. This bond secures the glass and creates the weather barrier so you can bring in light without adding a vented opening.

Let's take a look at our Van Windows Direct fixed middle side panel window for the driver's side of a 2015 through current year Ford Transit, middle side panel driver's side, any wheel base. So folks, this will not work with the Ford Transit Connect. Make sure you're checking the fit guide, enter things like your year, make and model. Be sure you're getting the right parts for your specific vehicle the first time.
Now this will replace that solid metal panel in the middle section of that van, giving you more natural light and visibility without adding vents or moving parts. It's a tempered safety glass, so it's super strong. It's gonna meet all SAE and DOT standards. And the glass, if it gets damaged, it's designed to break into small pieces rather than sharp shards. As you can see, it's got a nice 17% privacy tint that's gonna keep people from seeing inside as much.
And it's also gonna block about 83% of those UV rays, and that's gonna help reduce sun exposure and keep the heat outside of the van. Now this window will follow the factory stamping of the panel. So you're gonna have to cut that out, and then you will put this in place using a automotive style urethane. We do carry that separately here.
