Light changes how your Sprinter feels inside. Without it, the rear quarter side panel section stays dark and harder to use. This fixed side panel window replaces that solid section with glass, so you get more daylight and a clear view outside.
This window replaces the solid metal panel in the rear quarter position on the driver side of your 2007-2009 Dodge Sprinter, 2007-2021 Freightliner Sprinter, or 2010-2026 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with a 170-inch wheelbase. Instead of a blank section along the rear portion of the cargo area, you gain a fixed glass panel that adds visibility and natural light without introducing vents or moving parts. That section stays sealed while opening up the side of the van.
When you drive over bumps or uneven pavement, the body of the van moves slightly. The glass in this panel moves with the surrounding metal, which helps reduce stress at the edges and lowers the chance of cracking. To handle that movement, this window uses tempered safety glass that meets DOT and SAE standards for road use.
The rear quarter side panel window sits at eye level from outside and creates a direct sightline into the cargo space. The 17% gray tint limits how much someone can see inside while still allowing visibility out. It also blocks 83% of UV rays, reducing sun exposure through that section of glass.
Cutting into the rear quarter side panel is permanent. The glass has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the body. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it is set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.
After the opening is cut, a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW84ZR - sold separately) is applied around the perimeter. When the glass is set into place, that urethane bonds it to the body panel and forms the seal that keeps water from entering the wall cavity. This bond secures the glass and creates the weather barrier so you can bring in light without adding a vented opening.

Hi, everyone, Steven here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at a Van Windows Direct fixed rear quarter window for the driver side of an '07-'09 Sprinter, an '07-2021 Freightliner Sprinter, or a 2010 through current year Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. All of those need to have the 170-inch wheel base for this to be a direct fit for them. So make sure you're checking the Fit Guide over at etrailer.com. Enter things like year, make, and model. Be sure you're getting the right parts the very fist time.
So folks, if you're building out a Sprinter for camping, traveling, maybe you just wanna make it into a work remote kind of road warrior van, if you will, things can get pretty dark inside with those solid metal panels, right So with this, you have an option of cutting out one of the pop-outs, replace that with a window like this, and this is gonna bring in that natural light. It's gonna help make the van feel larger inside, just like mirrors and windows do in our home, right And the big difference can also be if you're making it a camper, if you have a bed, seating area, workspace towards the back part of that van, you're now gonna have light that you can let in naturally. You can see outside. It has a nice 17% privacy tint. That's gonna limit how much people can see inside.
You can see it reflects light really good. You're seeing the photo reflection here inside on my studio lights. And this is also gonna block about 83% of those UV rays. Turning it, you can see it follows the contour of the vehicle design. So it's gonna have an OE look and everything.
Zooming in, you can see that privacy tint. So I can see inside, but not too, too well. And then I have that border line all the way inside going around it. Now, obviously, if you wanna install it yourself, you're gonna need some things that are not included. You're gonna need an automotive-grade black urethane.
That's not only gonna hold it in place, but it's also gonna create that weathertight seal you need to keep water, moisture, and those kinda things out. Now, this is all carried separately. You can also scroll down, if you don't wanna do the install yourself, find our installer locator link below. And based on your ZIP code, we can pair you up with trusted etrailer installation locations around the nation that can do the installation for you. This is a tempered safety glass, so it is meeting all DOT and SAE standards. And again, it follows that factory stamp-outs of the factory van lines. You can be rest assured that it works with anything that matches those fits that I mentioned before. And that's gonna wrap up our quick look together, folks. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
