This experience was mediocre because they advertised free 3 day shipping through a google search for this product. After paying I was notified that it would take longer. I needed the gate mate for a weekend trip and could have gotten it through [online vendor] for the same price, quicker. Not a big deal, just be aware.
Always impressed with etrailer. They have an abundance of knowledge and are extremely responsive. Highly recommend!

Great material, inside smooth will not scratch the tailgate. Easy install. I ordered for full size, truck however if I had to do it again I would choose smaller width. I have rails mounted to the inside of bed for a bed cover. The gate mate really fits snug, having to slam the gate to lock. Depending style of bike the down tube may not snug tight. Yes I would buy again. Good price.
Totally impressed. This thing not only protects my bike but also my truck. Set up was easy, the padding is plentiful, the mesh storage pockets are a huge plus. Really impressed with the quality. Even was able to work around my roll up Lund tonneau with no mods needed.
Solved our problem of how to bring our 6 bikes along with us on long trips. Super easy to load and unload. Very happy with this purchase.

Still using and working great. My only issue is installation is a bit tricky, which does sometimes mean I dont bother to use if were not certain to need the bikes. Ultimately though its worth the effort and solved our problem.
Arrived quicker than expected and with good
updates. Packaging was excellent. Fitted
in 5 minutes, loaded the bikes
on back of truck and hit the road… very pleased.
This tailgate mat works great, i have no issue with bikes moving while driving. I use it for several different frame sizes from med frame road bikes to large frame fat tires and an XL 29er. It holds them all without a problem. The soft material has caused no scratching to my tailgate and those who say it will dont wash their truck. Service and delivery from etrailer was quick and competitively priced as usual. I have recommended and would buy again.
Overall this is a great option for a quickly installed and secure way to haul bicycles in a pick-up truck. One thing I did not consider was the fact I had a tonneau cover on my 2016 Ford F-150 from Gator. The rails for the cover overlap into the bed of the truck an inch and a half, but the Thule tailgate pad is flexible enough to work under the rails to get the tailgate closed. Installation takes 10 minutes alone and 5 with help. Great product and great support from eTrailer.com!

Bit of a pain to lift bikes onto the tailgate but for someone who regularly transports 4-6 bikes from hone to the campsite, this thing is perfect. It claims you can do 8 bikes but it would be very difficult to get bike 7 and 8 into the truck.
If you need to live 6 bikes about this is the best solution I have found.
Awesome bike transport. I did not want a truck hitch type so this was a great easy option. Took less than 5 minutes to install and the bikes were certainly secure during transport.
