Features to know about

Stable Hauling for Heavy and Carbon Bikes: 60 lb Capacity Per Bike

Built to handle serious weight, the RockyMounts GuideRail carries two bikes up to 60 lbs each without wobble or stress. That means e-bikes, carbon frames, and custom finishes are safe in transport. The pivoting upright arms grab each bike firmly by the wheels, keeping the frame untouched and the paint scratch-free. With a maximum wheelbase of 55" and tire width up to 3", this rack is ready for everything from sleek road bikes to trail machines.

No Frame Contact, No Hassle Loading

Wheel-only contact means no clamps anywhere near your frame. The pivoting upright arms lock securely against your tires, and pre-marked bridges make setup fast for different wheel sizes from 20" to 29". The process is simple: drop your bike in, swing the arms in place, and go. The grooved trays let you fine-tune spacing so handlebars and pedals don’t bump each other, giving each bike its own space.

Quick Rear Access with Front Lever Tilt

When you need to grab gear or open the hatch, the GuideRail tilts down easily—even with bikes loaded. The front-mounted release handle means you can tilt or fold the rack without reaching through or around bikes, keeping both hands on the rack for control. Folded up, it stays compact for parking or storage, with just 6-1/2" from the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the rack.

Quiet and Secure Transport Every Time

An anti-rattle hitch pin keeps the rack stable in the receiver so it doesn’t move over bumps or rough roads. For security, locks are included for both the rack and your bikes. The nylon-covered 10 mm square-link chain threads through your frames and locks into a hidden core on the rack. Both locks are keyed alike, so one key handles everything.

Built for the Long Haul: Steel and Aluminum Construction

The GuideRail combines steel and aluminum with a black powder coat finish that resists corrosion and keeps it looking clean ride after ride. At 49 lbs, it’s sturdy but manageable for one person to handle. It’s a simple, solid design that focuses on strength, function, and a clean look—everything you need for confident bike transport.

So far so good, and I use it an avg of 15 times a month during riding season. All my rides I drive to ride site to avoid traffic

by:

This was so easy to assemble and install on my new Maverick! My partner and I did a short ride at Brown County state park to try it out before doing 14 miles on the People Trail in Columbus today. Makes taking our bikes on the road super easy.

by:

Snagged this rack up on sale. Was looking at a more expensive alternative that was double the price. Coming from Thule and 1up, this rack is much better and has some very helpful features. It’s built very well and looks great.

by:

It's perfect.

by:

Excellent rack doesn’t wobble at all. Holds the bikes firmly in place.

by:

I’ve used several different hitch-mounted bike racks over the years. The cost of the RockyMounts GuideRail spooked me initially, however while putting it together I could clearly see that the quality is undeniable. The rack is really easy to assemble and use. The locking hitch bolt jam feature keeps the rack from jiggling and my 55-pound 29-inch enduro ebike fits securely in the wheel mounts. The included security chain is very heavy-duty and the integrated lock, which uses the same key as the included hitch pin is a really nice feature. If you have a shell on your pickup or if you have a van or SUV, you might need a hitch extension to keep wide handle bars away from the vehicle on the inside rail. My pickup tailgate can be lowered with the rack in the all the way down position, but it makes contact when lowered with the rack in the mid position. Check your application for clearance before lowering your tailgate with the rack installed on your vehicle. I did a bit of searching and etrailer had the lowest price with the quickest free shipping on this rack at the time.

by:

This is by far the best bike accessories purchase I have made. This thing is rock solid when heading down the road.

  • Will RockyMounts Guiderail Work on My Fifth Wheel Camper?
Hey Doug! The RockyMounts GuideRail Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # RKY97ZR will not work on your Outdoors Adventure F26RKS 5th wheel trailer. The RV, fifth wheel, and travel trailer rating for bike racks is crucial because of the difference in ride on these different vehicles is much harsher than the ride on a standard-sized vehicle. The weight of a bike rack combined with the distance from the rear axle, you'll have a lot of movement, sort of like a seesaw, on the...

  • Will RockyMounts GuideRail Work With Aventon Pace With Carrier on Rear Tire
Hi Tim; that rear carrier on the Aventon will interfere with the arm on the RockyMounts GuideRail # RKY97ZR. You will have to remove it if you want to use this bike rack. The RockyMounts MonoRail # RKY10004 is the better choice since you won't have to worry about removing anything from the Aventon. Both are going to be pretty solid with the anti-rattle pin but if you really want to cut down on movement I would add something like the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar # e38FV as well. If...

  • Will the RockyMounts GuideRail Fit a 2021 Subaru Outback Wagon OEM Hitch with 2-3/4" Depth?
Hey Jeff, thanks for reaching out! The RockyMounts GuideRail # RKY97ZR measures 2-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back end of the shank (see attached photo). I was able to personally measure the bike rack and verify you'll have 1/4" to work with, so this will definitely fit! What kind of bikes are you carrying?

  • Is RockyMounts GuideRail Bike Rack Similar to 1Up Bike Rack
Hey Mike, I wouldn't think that RockyMounts would get sued for the design of the GuideRail Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # RKY97ZR although I do see how they are pretty similar. RockyMounts is pretty smart so I am sure they paid attention to any patents that 1Up has.

  • License Plate Holder For RockyMounts GuideRail Bike Rack
Hey David, We can definitely get you a license plate holder that fits the RockyMounts GuideRail Bike Rack # RKY97ZR, and for that you'll need the Yakima PlateMate License Plate Holder # Y02713. The PlateMate uses velcro straps so you can put it around the bottom of the GuideRail, or around your bikes when they're on the rack, so it's super easy to use.

  • Locking Hitch Pin For Hitch On 2024 Tesla Model Y With Limited Room Around Receiver
Hello Jason, thanks for reaching out. I do have a potential solution for you, but we are not aware of a locking pin that is made specifically to be compatible with the hitch on a 2024 Tesla Model Y. Your Best option for this will be to use a lock with a swivel head design like the Master Lock # 1479DAT. This allows the face of the lock to stick straight back instead of off to the side which makes operating the lock much easier with limited clearance. The overall length of the lock is 5-3/8"...

  • Looking For E-Bike Rack For 2" Front Hitch On A 2015 Ram 2500
Hello Chris, thanks for reaching out. We have a lot of great options for an e-bike rack that can be used with the front hitch on your 2015 Ram 2500. Take a look at the Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack # Y88DJ. This is a super solid e-bike rack, it can hold two bikes weighing up to 80 lbs apiece. It can accommodate larger tires up to 5" wide and it will also fit bikes with alternative frame styles like step-thru bikes or women's bikes. It also has an integrated ramp that make loading and unloading...

  • Can RockyMounts GuideRail Bike Rack Hold Bikes with Front Fenders
The RockyMounts GuideRail Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # RKY97ZR can be used for bikes with fenders as long as it doesn't cover too much of the front tire. Rear fenders tend to cover most of the tire so in that case we want to use something else. Since your bike has a front fender I actually recommend going with the RockyMounts HighNoon FC # RKY67RR instead, because it has a strap with the front hook so you can safely secure the front wheel of your bike without damaging the fender. • Will RockyMounts GuideRail Bike Rack Work with Aventon Bike with Fenders
I do have an option for you but the RockyMounts GuideRail Bike Rack part # RKY97ZR is a wheel mount rack so it won't work with your Aventon Level 2 Step Thru and Specialized Como Step Thru as they both have fenders and you can't use a wheel mount rack on a bike with fenders, generally speaking. Instead, I recommend the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack part # TH903202 which is common among Aventon owner's. It has ramps for easy loading, wheels for greater maneuverability, and locks for security.

  • Can The RockyMounts GuideRail Bike Rack Be Used For Bike Storage In A Garage?
I don't see any reason why you couldn't, Josh. As long as the hitch has adequate capacity. You would definitely want to be sure the hitch properly anchored to the floor or wall or wherever you intend to install it to keep it from tipping over. If you can get that part down, you can absolutely use the RockyMounts GuideRail Bike Rack # RKY97ZR for bike storage. I have a solution for you but I wouldn't use the RockyMounts GuideRail Bike Rack item # RKY97ZR on a bike with fenders unless they stop well before the 12 o'clock position of your wheels. Instead I recommend the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack item # HLY84FR and then you'll want to use the Bike Frame Adapter Bar item # HRBA-PRO with your carbon frame bike. • Best Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2023 Toyota Venza For Bike Rack
Absolutely, and the best trailer hitch receiver for your 2023 Toyota Venza is going to be either the Curt or etrailer hitch. I mention both because they are the same hitch, just with different finishes - the Curt has a glossy finish while the etrailer has a matte black finish. The reason to go with one of these is because they have the best ground and bumper clearance, keeping your rack higher up off the ground and away from your Venza. The correct part numbers for the hitches that fit...
