Features to know about

Reliable Lighting for Every Trip: 4-Function Incandescent Tail Light

This rectangular Optronics RV tail light handles all four jobs—stop, tail, turn, and license plate illumination—in one sturdy unit. At 8-5/8" long and 3-3/16" tall, it fits cleanly on most surfaces with a white ABS plastic base that’s both lightweight and durable. The red acrylic lens snaps on easily for bulb access or replacement. It’s powered by a standard 3-wire pigtail setup with clearly marked leads: white for ground, black for tail, and green for stop/turn.

Keeping Your Plate Visible: Built-In Bracket and Clear Lens

No need to add an extra fixture just to light the plate—this driver-side assembly already has it covered. The integrated license plate bracket holds your tag securely, while the clear lens underneath the housing makes sure it stays illuminated and compliant. Fewer parts mean less clutter and a cleaner look out back.

Easy Replacement When You Need It: Snap-On Lens and Standard Bulb

When an old lens cracks or a bulb burns out, this light makes swaps quick. The red acrylic lens snaps off without tools, and the incandescent bulb inside can be replaced in minutes using widely available parts. It’s a straightforward design that keeps your trailer or camper’s lighting up to code without special fittings or adapters.

Built to Meet Safety Standards: DOT Approved Performance

You can count on this light to meet every requirement. It’s fully compliant with FMVSS 108 and CMVSS 108 standards for automotive lighting, giving you confidence that your signals will be seen clearly day or night. For reference, the stop light draws 2.65 amps at 12.8 volts, while the tail light draws 2.1 amps—dependable brightness every time you hit the brakes or turn signals.

Tag holder dry rotted again and broke off. I just ordered and replaced it again. Light works great, license plate holder needs to be metal instead of plastic.

The item is the exact replacement for the the lamp that was installed from factory on
camper. Not much else to say. Thank you

Still works as it did when replaced

Good price great service

Identical replacement. Worked perfect for broken license plate holder. Previous camper owner traded in their rig (now mine) on a new one at Camping World dealer. Guess it was too much effort to take their tag off properly so they broke the tabs that held the plate. Won't be dealing with them any more.

A year later, still working great!

by:

Product was a direct replacement for a factory light on my KZ travel trailer. I was lucky to find a direct replacement due to the license plate mount breaking after 4 years in the Florida sun. The tabs for the bolts became brittle due to UV deterioration, and, unlike some lights, the back plate with the light holder and wiring is a single plastic cast base, so it was either replace the entire fixture, or drill holes in the trailer to mount the license plate. The light works great but Ineould prefer a design, much like boat trailer lights, where the license mount is a separate plate underneath the actual light. For design I’d give Optronics a “C”, for function, I.e. brightness, aesthetics, ease of install etc. it’s an “A”.

by:

Just what I needed to fix my tail light

by:

Outstanding Professional Services

by:

RV tail lights arrived quickly and do the job well. Thank you.

by:

1 light is missing the clip off to hold lense cover on

by:

Used same color wiring scheme as existing and couldn't see the blinker blinking. The tail light was too bright. Flipped non ground wires and then it worked. However, broke the left tab getting the lens off. Way too tight and not enough give. Will go to dealer next time for parts. Will use some adhesive to hold it on...but for how long.

by:

great, fast shipping

by:

Great price and fast shipping

by:

Very nice product! Fits better than factory and a very reasonable price.

by:

Item is as described, it has a manufacturing defect. The lens retaining tab is broken and will require I order another unit.

by:

Ordered two years ago, but didn’t open box until just this month. It was what I needed except the clear lens at the bottom over the license plate was missing. I ordered a new lens hope it is correct.

by:

Fast shipping and easy installation and it works

by:

just as described. Fits perfectly. Fast shipping

by:

Exactly the tail light with license plate holder that we needed for our KZ Spree RV. The item arrived quickly which was much appreciated.

by:

Always a good experience with etrailer.

by:

The tail light came with a part missing. The clear lens that is on the bottom of the main lens that shines the light down on the license plate was not installed so there was just a hole in the main lense.

by:

Customer Service is great!! Got shipped the wrong part and Adam S. of the customer service team was on it instantly: problem solved with zero drama, zero wasted time....I'm impressed.

by:

Perfect match!
Installed, works fine.
Glad
to have found your website.
Will use it again to replace other parts required for this travel trailer.

1 year on, the plastic tabs that the license plate bolts to have cracked. I've been very careful, and not over tightened. It still works, but concerned the hanger portion will fail over time, and I'd rather not lose my plate. Also, I wish the design of these lights with the plate holder would be in such a way to make it easier to take on and off the plate.

  • Replacement Tail Light Lens for 2018 Grand Design Imagine 2500RL
The Replacement Lens # AST61B referenced in your question is designed for the Optronics # RVSTL61 and # RVST61 Trailer Tail Lights. The lens itself measures 8-5/8 inches long and 3-3/16 inches tall Unfortunately trailer manufacturers do not keep a good record of smaller parts like these that they install at the factory so I am unable to verify if this is the exact replacement lens for the lights on your 2018 Grand Design Imagine. With that being said I took a look at some pictures of...

  • Replacement Tail Lights for a 1981 Palomino Pop Up Camper
The first thing to look at is the size of the Bargman tail light # 30-92-002 and how it compares to the existing lights on your 1981 Palomino pup. The Bargman light is 8-9/16" long x 4-9/16" wide x 2-1/8" thick. The wiring on this light may seem a little confusing but I can explain it. The two white wires are ground wires and will need to attach to a clean, bare metal surface. The black wire is for brake lights and turn signals. Green is for running lights. That leaves the red wire for...

  • Dim Trailer Taillight Possibly Caused by Poor Ground Connection
It certainly sounds as if you're getting an insufficient ground connection. I would definitely take a dime sized area around the hole for the ground screw down to bare metal, then install a star washer between the frame and the ring terminal on the ground wire. When the screw it tightened down, the star washer will bite into the trailer frame, ensuring a bullet proof ground connection. Once connected, give the area a quick shot of rust inhibiting spray paint to protect it. I've linked...
