Today we're going to be taking a look at the Oralite reflector for trucks or trailers. This is an amber reflector that makes your truck or trailer more visible to other drivers. This is designed for use on the side or rear of your truck, trailer or other equipment. It's made from a strong, durable, polyester construction. It's going to feature the adhesive backing so it's going to function just like a sticker. You just peel that off, stick it to the application, allows for a nice simple simple installation on the mounting surface. It is SAE and Department of Transportation compliant.
It meets FMVSS requirements for reflex reflector when properly mounted, and it is SAE J578, and J594 compliant. The product is made in the USA. Just taking a look at the dimensions real quick. Measuring edge to edge, it's going to give us a length measurement of about three and half inches. Going side to side, it's going to give us a measurement of two inches. I used this to cover a hole in a side mirror, stone damage, with something better looking than duct tape and somewhat functional. It serves as a reflector for those mirrors sticking out the side of my pickup. Especially helpful when they're extended for towing.
It's a pretty simple item so there isn't much to say. eTrailer shipped it out promptly and it works, so far. Have to see how well it holds up to weather and road grit.
It wasn't quite wide enough or long enough to look good but it's better than the hole. Plastic reflectors I could find were too narrow or round and too large.
I think the reflectors will work, except for the one that was folded when fitted into mailing envelope resulting in a severe crease that will probably cause it not to adhere to my boat trailer. etrailer staff should have more carefully folded the reflector at a blank space of the backing paper rather than fold the actual reflector. Shows me there was a lack of care and professionalism.
Stick on easy
My wife thinks I'm a safety nut. She is right. Added a few of these reflectors to the trailer tongue area to enhance visibility of the structure at night. I'm happy and she tolerates me.
Made out of a durable product, very reflective and the adhesive had no issues sticking to the trailer.
Makes for a nice and clean look on the trailer that I am redoing. Brighter and cleaner appearance than a screw mount version.
