Light Duty Trailer Tie Down Lashing Ring

  • Capacity: 1,000 lbs.
  • Safe Working Load Limit: 330 lbs
  • 1-1/2" D-Ring
lashing ring

Note: Tie-down anchors must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the anchors being used. For example, if you are using anchors with a WLL of 100 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 400 lbs, then you need at least 4 anchors to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use anchors in pairs.

Video Transcript for The Low-Down on the Brophy Light Duty D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor

Today we'll be reviewing part number SR10-C. This is the light-duty tie-down from Brophy rated at 1,000 pounds. It's going to provide us with a safe working load limit of 330 pounds. Now, if you need some additional support depending on the surface that you're mounting it to, we recommend backing plate, part number BP12. That's just going to add the extra support that you need for your tie-down. So the way this works is you'd just place this portion here over your D-ring, install your bolts and you'll be set to go as long as you get those fully secure. The mounting hardware is sold separately, so you will need to purchase that in addition to the D-ring.

To help assist you in that the biggest thing that you need to know is the diameter of each bolt hole. These two holes are identical and they're going to give us a diameter of 1/4". If you measure the distance from the center of one hole to the center of the other, it's going to give us a measurement of 1 1/4". The overall length of this platform is going to measure 2 1/4". The overall width is going to measure right at 1 1/4". Now, when measuring our D-ring, we're measuring the space on the inside. That's going to give us a measurement of 1 1/2".

So that's going to give us plenty of room to make our connection point. This system is covered with a zinc-plated finish so it is going to stand up well against rust and corrosion. You can see here when the D-ring is not in use you can pivot it to either side and it will lay flush so that way it doesn't take up any additional space. That's going to complete today's review of part number SR10-C. This is the Brophy light-duty trailer tie-down. .

  • Choosing D-Ring Cargo Tie Downs for Toy Hauler Trailer
We offer D-ring tie down products with working load limit (WLL) ratings from 330-lbs, as with the Brophy # SR10-C, up to more than 15,500-lbs, as with the weld-on Curt D-ring # C83780. The Brophy D-ring # RR01-C you referenced has a WLL of 400-lbs, half of what you need to match your other D-ring, if it is indeed rated for 2500-lbs breaking strength. Note that such parts carry two types of ratings, a breaking strength and a working load limit (WLL). Straps and anchors must be selected...

  • Adding Tie-Down Points to Secure a Boat on a Ford Ranger with a Tonneau Cover
You may be able to use the Extang CargoCleats Tie Downs # EX1932 but I'm not sure they'll work with your tonneau cover. If your tonneau are attached at the side rails, they probably will not. Another option, that isn't really ideal, is to drill into the truck and install some D-rings like # SR10-C.

  • Measurements of Brophy Light Duty D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor
I measured the Brophy Light Duty D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor # SR10-C and the diameter of the ring is 3/16 of an inch. It's a 1-1/2 inch D-ring. The bracket measures 1-1/4 inches by 2-1/4 inches and the screw holes are 1-1/4 inches apart. I've attached a picture with the measurements for you.

  • Availability of Weld-On D-Ring Tie Downs for Installation on Aluminum Trailer
We do offer many weld-on D-ring tie-downs for cargo control on trailers. These are shown on the linked page. All of these items are made of steel, not aluminum. It is not easy to weld steel and aluminum (due to the two metals' different melting points) but a skilled professional welder should be able to do it. If you prefer to avoid the complication of welding you might consider the bolt-on D-rings shown on the other linked page. For example, Brophy offers various sizes such as # SR15-C...

  • What Size and Type of Screws are Recommended for Installing Light Duty Trailer Tie-Down # SR10-C
Since you would be putting the Light Duty Trailer Tie-Down, # SR10-C, on a wooden trailer floor, I recommend using 1/4 inch wood screws. For the underside of the trailer, should the screws go all the way through, I would use some silicone sealant like # 0160297 around the holes. For the underside of the pressure treated wood floor, you can use any product for a pressure treated deck floor that you can get at a local home center.

  • Installing Brophy Light Duty Trailer Tie-Down # SR10-C in a Haulmark 7 x 16 V-Nose Trailer
The Brophy Light Duty Trailer Tie-Down, part # SR10-C, mounts with hardware of your preference using two holes that are centered at 1-1/4-inch spacing. Note that the plate and D-ring are separate parts until installed. The mounting holes themselves are of 1/4-inch diameter. These D-ring tie downs have a safe working load limit (WLL) of 330-lbs each. Since it sounds like your application requires that these provide only horizontal hold (to keep the tables held firmly against the interior...

  • Material of Brophy D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor
That sounds ... complicated. But to answer your question, the Brophy Light Duty D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor # SR10-C is made of zinc-plated steel according to the manufacturer. I have also attached a photo showing the measurements of this d-ring for you to check out.

  • Hardware Needed to Install Brophy Tie-Down SR10 on a Truck Bed Floor
When installing the Brophy Light Duty D-Ring Tie Down Anchor # SR10-C to your truck bed floor, I'd recommend using the mounting plate # BP12, which will be placed under your truck bed directly under the D-ring. This will give you additional support for the D-ring so that you do not damage the bed of your truck. As for the hardware, Brophy recommends using 1/4" x 2 1/4" Zinc bolts, nuts and lock washers which you should be able to purchase locally at any hardware store. I've attached a video...
