The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The circuit board is sealed, which means that water will not damage the diodes or circuit board.
A PC-rated light produces a 90-degree angle of light to either side of its centerline for a total of 180 degrees of coverage. This beam pattern can be clearly seen when you are standing directly in front of the light, as well as when you are standing on either side of the light. When properly installed, this type of light can function as both a front clearance light and a side marker light or as a rear clearance light and a side marker light.

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Optronics unilight LED trailer clearance and sidemarker light. This small, round trailer light functions as both a clearance light and sidemarker light when properly mounted, completely sealed, waterproof design is submersible, and it's an LED system. Now, LEDs are going to make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer. They burn brighter, and they're much more efficient. You don't have to worry about replacing bulbs and you don't have to worry about brittle filaments.
That's a nice, strong, durable design. When it comes to the lens and housing, we're looking at a polycarbonate construction. It's going to be an Amber light, so it's going to have the Amber lens, two Amber LEDs, and it's designed to be a recessed mount installation with a mounting grommet. The installation does require a 3/4" diameter hole at the desired mounting location, and it's a two wire design, so your wires are protected and then here at the end, you can see that they split. You're going to have a black wire, which is your power lead and you're going to have white wire, which is your ground wire. It's Department of Transportation compliant. It is a PC rated light. When it comes to the dimensions, it's a 3/4" diameter light. The length of the unit measures about 7/8".
It's going to contain two diodes, or two LEDs. When it comes to the power draw, at 12.8 volts, we're looking at 0.03 amps. Optronics puts a lifetime warranty on the LEDs. We're going to go ahead and hook it up to power, that way you can see what it looks like. We'll also turn off our overhead light, so you can see it in a lower light setting.
You can see, here, that it sends out a really bright, consistent signal. Again, it's going to contain two diodes, or two LEDs. The multi diode design really helps optimize the light output of the unit. That's going to do it for today's look at the Optronics unilight LED trailer clearance with the sidemarker light.
