Rugged, Matte Black Finish

The sturdy steel construction is protected with a matte black finish for added durability. This unique powder coating gives etrailer hitches a carbide-like appearance and a rugged look that sets them apart from traditional glossy hitches. In addition to being rust and corrosion resistant, the tough matte coating hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than a glossy finish.

2008 Chevrolet Equinox

Perfect fit on my 2008 Equinox LX. I went up a weight class just because the price was better. The removable tow bar fits nice and secure. This everything in a hitch you'd expect.

Still solid as a rock. It is not even a thought as I hook up my trailer.

2016 Chevrolet Equinox

Trailer hitch arrived in excellent condition with all parts necessary to install it on my 2016 Chevy Equinox. The install was a breeze (this was the first time I've installed a trailer hitch). I watched the video, and picked up on all of the tips to make it easier. I definitely recommend using a the recommended M12x1.75 tap to clean out the frame welded nuts prior to install. I originally used Liquid Wrench and scrubbed out the holes with a brush, but it was still very difficult to get the bolts in. After I ran the tap through, they went in with ease. Everything else went smoothly and I'm very happy with the product!

Comments
Its been a year and the hitch is still working very well! I mostly use it for a bike rack and it provides a very stable platform. I would definitely recommend this product.

Product is as advertised.. Fit well. Finish great.. For my 15 V6 Equinox... Though only 37k on my SUV... The hitch should include a tap to clean out the holes or just state a tap will be needed... Also the access panel can be cutout to fit close around the hitch with not much effort at all for a cleaner finished look... and the wiring kit was easy as advertised also.. Though I choose to run my power line from the front to back .. since I do not have a Lift...

Fit my 2013 GMC terrain perfectly! Trailor hitch installed perfectly. Great videos to help The wire that was included to help put in screws worked perfectly. At a shop they wanted 500 to put a trailor hitch on and I spent under 100$ doing it myself with the help of great videos.

2017 GMC Terrain

Product arrived in a timely manner with one of the hangers fully exposed out side the box. The heavy construction of the Hitch receiver proved to be too much for the delivery process and the unit was in perfect condition. I viewed the video and started the job of installation. Took me about 1 and a half hours to complete the job. The design of the unit was such that no drilling was required and the included fish wire was a wonder tool bringing bolts and square hole locks to the proper hole down a hollow frame. The wiring kit was super easy to install with step by step instructions and with NO cutting wires. Sorry it took so long to install. At 82 years old I have slowed a bit. Now I can pull my Jon boat to the lake. Happy Camper.

Comments
Easy order, fast shipping the best instructions I ever got with a product and it works perfect. About an hour and a half installation for this old 82 year old. Toes my Jon boat very well.

Bolts that came with the hitch where to big went to hardware store to buy the right ones

Comments
Thank you for your review. It sounds like your weld nuts need cleaned which is why the bolts seemed too big. This is common and an easy fix. Using the wrong hardware is not recommended and voids your receivers warranty.

Easy one-person installation. Pre-cleaned all mounting holes as recommended. Since I did this myself, I used the top hole of the side flange to temporary secure to the lower hole of the vehicle. On the other side, I used the top hole of the side flange to secure to the top hole of the vehicle. Returning to the other side, I removed the temporary bolt and positioned the flange in the correct position and secured with the two bolts. I did the same on the other side. I finally installed the two bolts for the tongue. Nice and clean easy installation.

I like the product. The frame nuts were very corroded, I did spray lubricant and used a wire brush. I tried to put in the bolts and they didn’t go in all the way. So I ended up buying a tap at the local hardware store to clean up the treads. I suggest you do that.

- e98865
by:

Took about an hour and 30 min. To install, hardest part was tightening the carriage bolts that I had to fish into place, that and the fact I had to lie on the ground and use a manual ratchet to tighten them, but overall a good install, and the videos on your website were excellent.

I got this so I could attach a bike carrier and it works great. The install is very simple if you follow the directions. Of your car has been on the road for awhile make sure you clean the threads on your frame and you will have no problem installing it yourself. I cleaned the threads and installed the next day in 15 minutes

Ordered it Tuesday, said it would arrive Monday. Received email that it shipped Wednesday and it arrived Saturday! Installation was EXACTLY as they stated! Had to remove the center fascia (easy to unsnap with a screwdriver) and had to retap the M12 1.75mm factory holes as they were quite rusty. I was leary about fishing the bolt with square washer/plate through the tube steel so I tied a string to the bolt so I could pull it back out if it didn't come through the hole. But like magic, the bolt fell right into place in the hole! Doing this alone was a bit cumbersome so I used three 4×4's on either side to lift either side and a floor Jack in the middle as shown. Then used a 1x4 on top of a 2x4, as a fulcrum, and lifted one side in place and bolted. Did same to other side and then the last two center bolts under the bumper. The hitch fit my 2014 Equinox perfect, no wedging, prying or beating required, great product!

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver and Bike Rack Recommendation For 2015 Chevrolet Equinox
I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98865 for your 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. This class III receiver will accept bike racks with a 2" hitch tube. The maximum tongue weight for the receiver is 350lbs which is more than enough for 2 bikes. The Thule Apex XT 2 Bike Rack # TH9024XT is the bike rack I recommend for your Equinox. It can carry 2 bikes up to 37.5lbs each and supports those bikes at 3 points to stop the bikes from swaying in the rack. A built in anti-rattle device,...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Hitch Receiver Bolts That Won"t Install in Factory Weldnuts
For your 2013 Chevy Equinox, the # e98865 you bought (according to the invoice associated with your email) is the correct fit. It is a fit for 2005 to 2017 models so it is likely there is either grime in the weldnuts or powder coat overspray that is in the threads that needs to be cleaned up. I don't think the bolts are too big... which should be M12-1.75 x 40mm. I've attached a help article on cleaning the weldnuts to assist.

This is how much the trailer can weigh by itself and still be safe. I've confirmed this information with the owner's manual.
