What Size Bolts Come With The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver e98865?

Question:
Part Number: e98865 the 2013 equinox does not have M12 mounting holes maybe M10 or M8, the hitch lines up perfectly, but the bolts supplied have to work, What size bolts are in the hardware package for Part Number: e98865. Thanks Robert

Hello Robert, thanks for reaching out. The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98865 uses 1/2"-13 x 1-3/4" long grade 8 bolts. Every 2013 Equinox will use this same size bolt. These are test fitted by the manufacturer, and the included bolts will always match the factory weldnuts. Also, we have installed this hitch several times here at our shop and have never had a problem with the bolts not fitting.
That said, in some cases when the vehicle is older we do see issues with the factory weldnuts getting rusted and this causes the bolts not to fit. In these cases the weldnuts will need to be thoroughly cleaned with rust remover and a wire brush.

Hey Robert, did you get a chance to clean the weldnuts and try the bolts again? I'm asking because your experience could help others who might face the same issue with their Equinox.
