Today, we're gonna take a look at this Pop & Lock Custom Manual Tailgate Lock Handle with the BOLT technology, and this is for Toyota Tacoma trucks in the Spruce Mica color. Now, this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 2005 to 2015 Toyota Tacoma trucks, and the color on this is a Spruce Mica, so it is designed to match the color on your vehicle. It is a locking tailgate handle, it'll discourage the theft of your cargo and of your tailgate itself, creates secure storage for your valuables when it's used with a tonneau cover or a truck bed cap. This part will include the tailgate handle with the locking mechanism, and again, this will replace your existing factory tailgate handle by using this tailgate handle that has the built-in manual lock, and you won't have to carry any extra keys. This lock cylinder uses the BOLT, B-O-L-T, codeable technology, so that it can be keyed to match your OEM truck key.
Basically, you see this red sticker on there, when you peel this off, that'll give you access to the tumbler, you'll take your OEM Toyota key, stick it in there, turn it, turn it back, and it sets it to your OEM key, so you don't have to carry any extra keys, you can just use your factory key. It is a tough armored steel lock, does resist tampering. It is a raised lock designed for quick key access, and as we mentioned, it's customized for your vehicle, it replaces the OEM tailgate handle. And if you noticed on the underside right here, they have this cutout here, this will work with or without a backup camera, so if you don't have a backup camera, you can leave it just as it is, if you have a backup camera, you just knock out this little opening here, so that'll work. We mentioned the color on this, it's probably hard to see, but it is a Spruce Mica color, which will match the factory color or to even compliment any other dark trim on your truck.

Instalation went well , key locked & unlocked, then closed gate, and locked again,but then the left side of gate would not open. OH MY, ha. Somehow the sm. Plastic lock for the rod came loose.oh my, but thanks to my HEAVENLY FATHER , after some time I was able to remove screws and force my hand in to pull rod open an replace.thanks looks good.

For the cost, I was expecting a much nicer finish. The paint is dull compared to my truck, and it’s basically mostly plastic for that price of a far superior latch assy. 2 years ago I purchased a metal replacement latch assy for my Chevy pickup that only cost around $40. Both units have the same key-coding process.
Color match was a little off not too bad. The fit was good. The handle is very cheap feeling and flimsy. I'm trying to be careful with it. Not really worth what I had to pay, but no other options.
Installed lock unit in very short time with no hassles. Was very happy with ease of installation and fit.
Have plenty of faith that this tailgate lock system will give years of service.

It matches my 2005 Tacoma paint silver streak mica. Easy to install with u tube video. The feature that keys the lock to the ignition key is great. Don't have to carry an extra key. Also, etrailer's processing, pick and tracking information was excellent.

works well... but coating is fading and starting to peel off.
Tailgate handle feels sturdy. It was an easy installation probably less than 10 minutes. However, it is not the most ergonomic handle. Takes quite a good amount of strength to open the tailgate. It’s a bit clunky not so smooth but the lock now works with my ignition key so that’s good.
Arrived on time and as advertised. Found a great You tube video that covered installation. Was able to do so in 30 minutes. Only suggestion is that the package came with no instructions but had a QR code. Unfortunately, the QR led me to a brief installation guide with size 4 font. Nonetheless, it was pretty straightforward to install. Another challenge, nothing to do with the product, was unplugging the harness connector to the camera! Just a note for future buyers to be prepared for. All automotive connectors have latches but over time these latches can lose their elasticity so I had to use a small screwdriver to disengage, being careful to to break it. The key setting feature is awesome allowing me to use my ignition key to lock and unlock the tailgate latch.
