Question:
Looking to upgrade factory fitted class II 2 inch hitch on my 2025 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. It is the 2.0l L4 engine automatic transmission configuration that Jeep says will give a max capacity of 5000lbs. Class II hitch can’t get us there so what are our best options for a class III hitch?

Hey Jason, for your 2025 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited the best option for a Class III hitch would be the etrailer part # e98856. I like this one because it installs super easy, is priced great, made in the USA, and has a 5,000 lb towing capacity. What are you planning on towing? Do you have trailer wiring already?

Thanks Jameson! Really appreciate it. For now we're looking at pretty low weight (under 3500lbs) general purpose towing, but would eventually like to work our way up to something like an Airstream Caravel 19CB (3,850-lbs) or 20FB (4,100lbs) camper. Our 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4dr Rubicon does have factory fitted wiring. I have since read that that the Curt (#e98856) might interfere with the mounting and that the design of the Draw-Tite (#DT78MR) or Blue Ox (#BLU33UR) appear to me more accommodating of the existing harness mounted on the crossbar. I'm aware that the Draw-Tire is is rated lower at 4,500lbs, however the higher tongue weight of 675lbs might be more advantageous if we were to say consider the Airstream 19CB or 20FB which require 550lbs TW and 650 lbs TW respectively. If that makes sense?
