Question:
I have a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. I want to use it as a toad and also pull a small utility trailer. What parts do I need so I can do both tasks? Thanks. Jan

Hey Jan, thanks for reaching out. Yes I can provide a full parts list for that. Assuming you don't already have a rear trailer hitch, here is what I recommend for pulling the utility trailer:
- etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98856
- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55124
- etrailer Adjustable 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 6" Rise, 6" Drop - 10K # e66PR
Next, here is a full flat tow package for your 2016 Wrangler:
- etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # e98949
- etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,000 lbs # e34ZR
- Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord # RM-15267
- Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25
- Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Braking System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Wireless Monitor - Proportional # DM86VR
That will cover all the main components. You may end up needing a drop hitch like part # BLU28XR to compensate for any height differences between the base plate arms and the hitch on your motorhome. Any difference of more than 3" requires a drop hitch. I also recommend grabbing a cover # e76FV and a hitch lock # e98881 to protect your tow bar.
Keep in mind the base plate is intended for models with the standard factory bumper. It will not fit Backcountry, Hard Rock, or 75th Anniversary models.
Also, the trailer hitch I mentioned has an extended receiver tube designed to help accessories clear the rear mounted spare tire.
Have you flat towed before? Will you be taking all this to a shop, or installing yourself?
