I am very pleased with my purchase.The etrailer hitch is a perfect fit for my 2015 Toyota Highlander. This company went above and beyond to assist me with finding a location to install it.
Hitch arrived in a timely fashion packaged in a double wall box with handles that made carrying very easy. There were a few rips in the box but the hitch looked fine. Had a local repair shop install it which took 30 minutes. The matte finish you recommended matches the rear bumber and looks great! Saris bike rack bolted up smoothly and hitch provides clearance for power tailgate and bikes. Extremely pleased!!
Out of all the etrailer hitches I have install for myself or my friends...this one was the easiest. They are all easy but this one was the cake! Love the quality and the fit. Can't beat the price either! I decided to run my 4 pin flat outside the SUV through a rubber grommet. Cleaner look to me. :)
Followed all instructions on video posted. Some small differences but all steps complete. 1 of 6 bolts did not not line up. Not even close. Would blame user error but took hitch off multiple times and starting with different bolts every time and always same result. Something off. Using for bike rack so imagine fine but really frustrating and makes no sense. Quality of hitch otherwise seems fine.

I cannot recommend to use the hitch without one the bolts torqued down. It sometimes takes a little finagling to get the hitch to line up with the holes. I recommend to line the hitch up first and loosely tighten the bolts by hand then torque them down alternating sides. It is also possible you received a flexed hitch. In that case, you can flex the hitch back into place before installing. If I were you I would remove the hitch and make sure the mounting brackets aren't flexed inward. I know that is not something anyone wants to hear but safety first in my opinion! Check out the link I posted about fixing a flexed hitch.

Ordered this past December '23 for my 2016 Highlander Limited. Got around to installing it a few weeks ago. Heavy but easy install by myself using ramps. I cheated and quickly removed a cover panel on passenger rear to more easily get around the muffler. Wiring harness super easy as well. Love the matte black finish. No regrets

I bought this trailer last year to add extra storage for a trip, and it has exceeded all expectations. The installation was much easier than anticipated, with clear instructions and everything fitting perfectly. Using it for a large hitch carrier was no challenge at all. The construction is rock solid, and it feels like it’s built to last. It has made traveling much more convenient, giving us ample space for all our gear. We’re extremely happy with the purchase—our only regret is that we didn’t invest in it sooner!

Trailer hitch is working out great. It has been a good addition to our vehicle. We use it for a cargo carrier for ball tournaments.
Easy DIY. Perfect hardware fitting. The install video on etrailer is missing an entire section of critical steps, so I went to a "U" site to watch how they do it. Installed in a leisurely 90 minutes with no struggle, no specialized equipment except for the torque wrench. The hardest part was trimming back the driver's side under-body shield using my tin snips. Since I had basic tools, the only item I was missing was a 20mm/half-inch torque wrench - about $95 from HD. I combined the extenders from two socket wrench sets to make one long extender. It took me another 30 min. to install the recommended wiring harness in my 2019 Highlander - also sophomore level skills. Since I installed yourself using wheel ramps, I used a chair to hold up one side while I bolted the other.
Very nice product and easy installation. The online video was exceptional and made preparation to install much more organized. I had to install the hitch by myself, and as suggested by another reviewer I used a jack/lift at the receiver tube to get the hitch to the correct height. I found that inserting a ball mount in the INSIDE of the receiver tube helped keep the whole hitch assembly pretty much level during the fitup. My second etrailer hitch, and I'd use them again!
Arrived quickly and undamaged. A really solid purchase. Installed (professionally) easily on my vehicle and has a nice look. Blends into the vehicle and looks like it could have been an original install at the time of manufacture. Matte finish is a really good look. Used for 4-bike bike rack and has been a great performer. Secure and easily holds the load. Very happy with this purchase and glad we went with this brand and style. Would definitely purchase again and will certainly look at this hitch should we need to install on a different vehicle in the future.

A year later I am still very satisfied with this purchase. Continues to be a solid product and have had absolutely no issues with this purchase or install. Definitely a good purchase and would highly recommend to others who are in need of a hitch that will allow you to transport multiple bikes long distances. Still looks new after a year installed on my vehicle.

Customer service is a lost art , if other companies and particularly monopoly mega corporations would adopt even a portion of your business ethos and acumen , everyone’s life would be a lot less frustrating! Great detailed videos linked right in the order confirmation email!!! I didn't have to go searching for it. Really appreciated ordering by phone to have all questions answered. Even tho the dealer told me I have a tow package (for the wiring), it turns out I didn't, and I am glad I ordered both harnesses just in case! Everything fit well, just had to clean up some surface rust on my highlander due to Northeast snow salt.
Very well made easy installation seems to be holding up well at an affordable price would recommend taking a look at this product if you are in the market for a hitch.
Couldn't be happier with my purchase. I had it installed at U-haul and have been towing a Kuat 3 bike rack assembly. Was initially wary that the receiver would throw off the weight balance on my car, especially when driving through snowy conditions and on snow (I live in the Pacific North West and drive through a mountain pass to get to my local ski resort every weekend), but that hasn't been an issue so far.
The hitch receiver fits perfectly and looks good. The instructional video was very clear and helpful. Instructions said that installation difficulty rating is "moderate", the only extra effort I experienced was pulling 86 foot pounds while lying on my back at 83 years of age (I should have used an extension on my torque wrench). In my opinion the installation was easy.
On another subject, you recommended several nearby shops that could install the hitch receiver. One of those shops was Brown's RV center in McBee, SC.
I have had some experience with Brown's. My experience and opinion is that they provide the worst service I have ever come across. I would certainly never recommend that shop.

Ive seen a lot of people recommending the curt trailer becuase the bar is hidden but I actually think the etrailer bar with the matte finish enhances the physical appearance.
Online video how to made installation easy and explained every step and wrench size. Very happy.
Straight forward installation. I used two jack stands spaced equally apart from the square receiver tube. This allowed me to easily support the hitch and rotate the flat portion up to sub frame and get the first bolt started. The bolts could use being 1/2" longer. I used the OEM bolts when I reinstalled the tow hook on top of the hitch.
In a world of disappointments in products and services, this hitch stands out like an oasis in the desert. It’s been one year since we bought it and it gets used frequently. It was easy to install and quality built. Highly recommended!
I just got receiver hitch installed on wife's 2019 Highlander. Went pretty good. I opted not to drop spare tire to install it. The installation video on the website was great help also. I did it on floor with assistance from a jack and my wife. On a scale of 1 to 10 on difficultly i would say maybe a 3. I have not used it yet but seems to be make very sturdy. I do like the way it kind of hides and dont stick out.

Been very pleased with the Trailer Hitch Receiver. I only use it when we go to the beach for a cargo carrier, Thats why i wanted one that fit tight up against the car. Blends in and looks factory.
Watch out if your car is not made in the US
The Hitch works perfect, it works how it should. The heads up here should be before buying it... I'm from Mexico so I bought it to a suite I have in the US... I brought it over to Mexico, followed the tutorials to install it, cutted what was needed to cut and assembled it to find out that the spare tire was not able to be placed in its place... searching for an answer I found that the spare tire for Highlanders in Mexico is a regular size tire, but in the US it is a thinner spare tire. Once you put the make and model in the site, it gives you the compatible hitch, not imagining that a Mexican would buy it.
At the end I had to buy a thinner spare tire to make everything work... extra expense!
The Etrailer hitch was very easy to install on my 2019 Toyota Highlander. It is well constructed and the fit was visually applealing.
The trailer hitch was easy to install on my 2017 Highlander with accurate instructions. It required a slight modification to the plastic undercarriage cover which was easily completed. I’ve used it a few times and it has worked well.
Very simple to install. I did in my driveway without dropping spare. Had a little help holding up side while installing bolts on other rail. Only tough bolt to put in was one right above muffler. Very happy with the way it fits and looks. Highly recommend

Ive had my hitch for an year and I have not had any problems. It is very well made the color hasnt faded and theirs no rust. I will be purchasing another one for my next vehicle.
