Will The etrailer Hitch e98844 Fit A 2018 Toyota Highlander XLE Hybrid?

Question:

Will this fit a 2018 Highlander Hybrid xle? I want to make sure the hybrid has the same available mounting points. Thanks.

Hi Scott!

The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98844 will fit all models/trim options for the 2018 Toyota Highlander XLE, including your Hybrid. The only notes we have on the install is there will be some trimming or removal of an underbody panel required for the installation (I included an install video we did showing this) and it will fit with a full size spare tire stowed under vehicle unless said spare is on an Aluminum rim, which is too wide.

What are you planning on using the hitch for?

Ok thanks! Glad to hear it. I’ll also watch the video. I’ll mainly use it for a bike rack or cargo rack. That being said, if I ever wanted to do lightweight towing, is there an option to get a hitch and hook up electrical as well?

@ScottM This will work perfectly for that! We do also have wiring available, but it will depend on if you have the factory tow package. This doesn't mean your Highlander would have come with a hitch, so I would contact a local Toyota dealer and have them run your VIN to see if you have it or not.
