2022 Lexus RX 350 L

This hitch does not clear the bracket holding the pre wired connections for trailer lights on my Lexus RX350L. It is located passenger side above the exhaust outlet. The bracket is factory installed. I am using this for a bike rack so I removed the wiring connection from the bracket which allows the bracket to be pushed up enough to correctly bolt the hitch on.

After a year it works perfectly as I expected. It is a quality hitch and Etrailer stands behind it. Thanks

Lexus

This product is amazing! Completely changed our ‘20 Lexus RX450hL into a true SUV. We carry our e-bike with us now using the hitch and plan to buy a cargo platform soon

by:

Took it to Florida and back with a Thule bike rack attached. Still seems solid. Installed it myself with another person to help hold it up under the car during installation.

by:

Looks to be very good quality. Installation was very easy with the included instructions.

by:

I am very happy with e-trailer as a company, shipping was good, the installation went smoothly, and I appreciated all the resources. The hitch functions as expected and hoped for - so 5 stars worthy on all these aspects.

My only concern is that after only one year, rust has developed (see photo). True, we are in the midwest, but we had an extremely mild winter with little to no snow or salt this year, and we always keep our vehicle washed and garaged. I didn't expect to see rust already this soon.

2019 toyota Highlander

Overall not too bad of an experience. All hardware was included so no problems there. Only issues I had were it needed a bit of muscle to get to fit perfectly with holes of highlander frame. After getting it mounted, it was a bit difficult to find the proper torque specs for this model. For us simpler folks, a small paper with simple instructions/specs could be useful. Build seems sturdy and made with quality materials.

by:

Hitch was damaged a little during shipping. No big deal just a few scratches given the weight and everything. Other then that works perfectly fine

by:

This is a great hitch. I was able to install it very easily with the instructions provided. The hitch fit for my vehicle was spot on. I'm using the hitch for baskets and bike mounts. It has been working great for them. The whole installation process was very fulfilling.

by:

Installation was straightforward and video was helpful. Having some helping hands and the proper tools makes the job great for the do it yourself person.

by:
2021 Lexus RX 350 L

Installation was not a challenge on my Lexus RX350L- the hardest part, by far, was removing all the driver's side fascia connections. My son did help me lift it into place while I initially placed the bolts, so I recommend getting help for that. Looks great - thank you, e-trailer!

I had previously purchased an a trailer for a Ford edge SEL 2011
Well, that trailer hitch only fit on a Ford edge or are there other vehicles it can be installed on

by:
2019 Lexus RX 350

This was my first time installing a hitch. Thank goodness etrailer was able to identify a potential problem before it occurred --the RX350 and RX350L require different hitches, and I almost bought the wrong one. Etrailer's followup was also great. My only complaint was that the instructions didn't match up perfectly with the actuality of the situation. It would also have been helpful to know the exact tools needed before I embarked on this project (most notably the Dremel that was required for cutting away parts of the trim on the underside). It also wouldn't be terrible if the package included a few extra plastic snaps to replace the ones that are inevitably damaged when you have to remove trim.

Hitch was sprung, mounting holes did not line up without use of multiple pry bars in 2 directions. Powder coating was chipped, bare metal exposed under cardboard wrap. Overall disappointed with purchase, for this price I expected more.

2019 Lexus RX 450h L

The install was easy but required two persons. The instructions were very good. For those with the Lexus RX 450hL, this hitch fit like a glove. Now I can haul my two eBikes with ease. Thanks etrailer!

Looks like an OEM hitch and functions well. We take our bikes everywhere we travel. Don’t pull a trailer, but for us this hitch put the U back in SUV for us. Anyone who has a 2019 450hL with the spare tire underneath the back, this hitch plaits like a glove using the existing tapped and threaded holes. Good job Curt!!

2020 Lexus RX 350 L

Great for my bike rack and hauling my bikes around on my 2020 Lexus RX350L. I wanted the 2” inch receiver for my heavy duty Yakima rack. Instructions were slightly unclear about how much of the bumper facia had to be trimmed. I had to trim the plastic bumper facia the entire length of the receiver. Also, two of the brackets between the frame and bumper had to be removed to allow clearance for the receiver. A lot more modification of the bumper and brackets than I expected. The good news is you don’t see the trimmed plastic when you look at the car. The other downside is that you lose the kick sensor to open the hatch. It get blocks from the receiver. I am trying to see if I can move it or trim more plastic to expose it. The overall appearance of the receiver is nice from normal view. You only see the receiver which is very nice, looks like factory. Have another strong person helping you with the installation and all will be well.

2020 Lexus RX 350 L

A few weeks ago I installed the Curt C13394 hitch from etrailer.com on my 2020 Lexus RX450hL. etrailer and Curt don't seem to know that this hitch which is meant for the 350L does also fit the 450hL but it fits perfectly. The install was fairly easy, I did it all myself except I had my son help me to lift it into place and get the first few bolts in place. The videos on etrailer are helpful, but there isn't one for a Lexus RX for this hitch. However, there is one for another hitch that installs very similar, so suggest watching the Lexus RX350L install video. The biggest task was probably cutting the driver's side panel to go over the hitch since they don't give you a template or anything. What I did was pushed it into place to see where it hit the hitch and then tried to just trim the minimum amount necessary with a Dremel and a cutting blade. The second picture shows the panel after I trimmed it and re-installed it. The third picture is the front part of that same panel to show where I trimmed it there.

I won't be towing with this vehicle so I only installed the hitch and didn't bother with the electrical hook up. I just need it for a bike rack and possibly a cargo carrier. Most of the time I only need to carry one bike so this will allow me to have a small single bike rack most of the time and I can add room for a second rack only when I need it.

I'm very happy with this setup. Attached are some pictures.

2018 Toyota Highlander

First of all this is my fifth or sixth purchase from "etrailer.com" their prices cannot be beat!! Thanks for that. This hitch was installed on my "new to me" 2018 Toyota Highlander Limited. As a very qualified Toyota tech was doing the install, we did not exactly follow the video instructions that were for a 2019 and 2017 (attached to my order). Anyway the install was clean and well done, the large "tab" over the exhaust was cut/trimmed away. The other two small arms/tabs were NOT removed and added to the clean install. My only issue, would be that there was no "retention" port/plug for the 4 pin wire harness, so it hangs free. See pictures. Otherwise very happy. thanks again etrailer.

by:
2019 Toyota Highlander

This is my second hitch purchases from etrailer. I would have given 5 stars however, like noted in some reviews my hitch too was bent, almost a inch off. The best way I found to bend it back in shape is use two 4x4 post pieces and a hydraulic jack, used from my Yukon.. Otherwise it is only a 30 minute job to install. I recommend, since this seems to be a issue from time to time, is place either a 1x1 or 2x4 or other ridged device to ensure the hitch maintains its shape during shipping. You guys have great vids showing how to install. Highly recommend your products.

Thank you...

2020 Lexus RX 350 L

This curt hitch fit my 2022 RX350L. The six holes in the hitch were mostly aligned, although it did require use of a crowbar to open the hitch slightly for the last two bolts. The install took under an hour and I am pleased with the result. At some point I may add a wiring harness too.

by:

Excellent trailer hitch for the 2016 Toyota Highlander. I use it for hauling Jet Ski's. Installation was easy while using a jack and a bucket to hold it up for me.

by:

Great instructions and videos. Have ordered from etrailer 4-5 times over the years. ALWAYS a pleasure. Keep up the good work!!

by:

The hitch appears to be very solid and the crossbar is concealed behind the rear bumper. The bolts supplied are about 1/2” shorter than the Lexus bolts that are removed prior to installing the hitch. I ended up reusing 4 Lexus bolts and only 2 of the new supplied bolts. The supplied new bolts were just too short to get the bolts threaded into the bolt holes. I’m an experienced DYI’ er and the install took me 4 1/2 hours. Way more than the 1 hour they claim a Novice can do the install. I did the install by myself so I expected it might take more than an hour. I would buy the hitch again

  • Does Trailer Hitch from 2015 Toyota Highlander Fit a 2020 Highlander
We do carry the Curt hitch that fits your 2020 Toyota Highlander, it's part # C99FR. The hitches that fit the 2015 Highlander will not fit the 2020. The Curt hitches for the 2015 are part # C13200 and part # C13394 which look a lot like the newer hitch but aren't the same. As you likely know the 2020 is a new generation for the Highlander.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13394 will fit with a full size spare tire stowed under vehicle unless the spare is on an aluminum rim, which is too wide. If you're concerned about the fit of the hitch with your spare tire I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT84MR which doesn't have this restriction. The Draw-Tite is also a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has the same gross towing weight of 5,000 lbs and max tongue weight of 500 lbs. It also comes with...

  • What Causes Hitch Accessories to Bounce or Move at Rear of Vehicle When Travelling
The shanks of the Curt hitch # C13394 that you mentioned is totally fixed and would not flex or cause movement/bounce. It essentially will be as rigid as your vehicle frame since it is so well reinforced. The length of the hitch tube would have really no bearing on movement of hitch accessories, but we do have ways to greatly reduce this type of movement with anti-rattle devices such as the # 63232 which install in the hollow shank of a hitch accessory and hold it tight against the hitch...

As far as the rear door kick sensor is concerned, we haven't heard anything about that but it isn't uncommon for hitches to get in the way of the sensors so you may need to move your foot around using different motions at various locations to see if the sensor can then pick it up.
