No drilling required for installation , Access holes may need to be enlarged by drilling, filing, or rotary tool , Wiring 118251 will not work on models with backup sensors. Models with backup sensors should use wiring harness 118551 or C56329 , Hitch will only fit on vehicles with 1-1/4" factory hitch

I cannot complete this review because I never put the hitch on my car. Unfortunately my car was totaled before I could install the hitch, so it’s still in the box in my storage. I am curious if I can return it to you for a refund.

I hope you are okay! At least the hitch wasnt installed yet. Since the hitch has never been installed, you can most definitely return it.

Wow came fast I mean fast how fast 48 hour to Chicago this hitch worked perfect with a little elbow grease thanks .

by:
FordEscape

ordered this product didn't say if it was for an escape with tow package already installed so ordered the correct hardware kit but had to pay full price for the hardware they wouldn't exchange just the hardware, other than that its been a good hitch use it all the time

by:

My trailer hitch was backordered and Rebecca was awesome at keeping me posted on it's delivery date.
Love the hitch.
Thanks!

Came really quickly from Missouri to Idaho, so that was great. Delivered on the morning promised. But the hardware pack was somewhat incomplete. On my particular model of Ford Escape I needed all six bolts be carriage bolts with blocks. It only came with 2 blocks and 2 carriage bolts. I had to go to the hardware store and buy more bolts and nuts to complete the install. Anyway… it all worked out.

by:
FordEscape

The hitch is well made and fit perfectly with only minimum drilling needed to get the bolts through the frame. The instructions showed threaded nuts on the frame of the car. My Escape did not have that so I had to buy 4 nuts to match the bolts that came with the hitch. Not a big deal though.

by:

was easy to install took about 45 minutes I bought a lot from etrailer and they ship fast and the products are great

by:
FordEscape

Good solid product. Bought this for my Ford Escape. Easy to install. Gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 because I didn’t get all the hardware needed to install. My vehicle doesn't have threaded holes to attach this, so I had to go fine 4 nuts to fit the bolts that were supplied.

by:

Looks well built and very strong! Instructions lack... needs to be more step by step instructions so you can do it yourself.. 4 out of 5 for timely delivery and well built. Would recommend

by:

The product was as advertised and I installed it myself.
Not hard at all.

by:

Parts came bent & some missing!

  • Recommend Trailer Hitch For My 2011 Ford Escape
When it comes to installing a trailer hitch on your 2011 Ford Escape V6 The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 inch # C13651 will work. I recommend looking into your vehicle's manual to find out the proper towing capacity for your vehicle. Per my sources your vehicle can tow up to 3,290 pounds. The Curt Hitch has a gloss black powder coat finish that offers superior rust resistance, and has a simple bolt on installation. Depending on if you're towing a trailer I...

  • Recommended Hitch Fit for 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid
I'd recommend a Curt Class III receiver for your Escape. Curt makes a great product with a durable powder coat finish. The hitch you need will depend on if your Escape is already equipped with the factory 1-1/4 inch hitch. If it is, you'll want to use # C13651. If it isn't, use # 13650. As confirmed by Curt, these hitches are compatible with the hybrid model, and the only slight issue you might run into is if your Escape is equipped with the exhaust dampener as shown in the provided...

  • Difference Between Curt 13650 and 13651 on 2008 Ford Escape
The difference between the two Curt hitches is the fitment. The # 13650 is designed for the 2008 Ford Escape that does not have a factory hitch installed. The # C13651 is designed to fit models with the 1-1/4" factory hitch.

  • What Is The Difference Between The Curt Hitches # 13650 and # C13651
The difference between the Curt # 13650 and # C13651 hitches are pretty simple. The # C13651 hitch is designed to fit your 2008 Mariner if you already have an OEM trailer hitch installed. It will also work for your vehicle whether it has a hitch installed or not. The # 13650 trailer hitch will not work with vehicles that have an OEM trailer hitch installed. If you do not have an OEM hitch, then the # 13650 will work great for you.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2007 Mercury Mariner
2 inch trailer hitches have the best weight capacities and the most hitch accessories made for them so whenever available this is the hitch size to go with. So for your 2007 Mercury Mariner you'd want the part # 13650 for if you do not have a factory hitch currently or # C13651 for if you do have a factory 1-1/4 inch hitch. For trailer wiring then you'd want the Tekonsha part # 118551 as it installs the easiest and also has the most reliable converter box.

  • Will a Class III Trailer Hitch for a 2011 Ford Escape Work with a Full Size Spare Tire
The Curt Class III Round Tube Receiver Hitch part # 13650 if you do not have a factory hitch installed or the Curt Class III Round Tube Receiver Hitch part # C13651 if you do have a factory 1-1/4" hitch installed will work with the factory 155/70-17 spare tire. If your spare tire is larger than this then we cannot confirm fitment. Please keep in mind that some models have a vibration dampener on the exhaust which may interfere with hitch installation. The dampener can be bent out of the...

  • Differences between the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13651 and # 13650 for a Ford Escape
I spoke with my contact at Curt and he told me that the Curt Trailer Hitch, # C13651, does sit lower to the ground than the Curt Hitch, # 13650. Both trailer hitches will fit the 2005 to 2011 Ford Escape without a factory hitch, but the # C13651 will fit on models that were equipped with a factory 1-1/4 inch hitch. Once installed, the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13651 will sit approximately 13-1/2 inches from the ground and hitch # 13650 will sit approximately 13-1/4 inches from the ground....

  • Will a Trailer Hitch from a Different Vehicle Fit a 2006 Ford Escape
There are several trailer hitches that will fit the 2006 Ford Escape and it is possible that those hitches will fit other vehicles so the opposite can also be true. I will break down each of the hitches to determine which vehicles they fit. Curt hitch # 13650 and etrailer hitch # e56AR both fit: 2005 - 2012 Ford Escape 2005 - 2011 Mercury Mariner 2005 - 2011 Mazda Tribute Curt hitch # C13651 fits: 2005 - 2011 Ford Escape 2005 - 2011 Mercury Mariner 2005 - 2011 Mazda Tribute Draw-Tite...

In order to obtain replacement hardware for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13651 which is a fit for a 2010 Ford Escape, you'll need to use the Replacement Hardware Kit for Trailer Hitches part # RHK. I don't have a way to offer specific hardware from the entire kit separately.

  • Can 1-1/4 Inch Factory Hitch on 2010 Ford Escape Be Removed to Install 2 Inch Hitch
I have some good news for you! The Curt # C13651 and Draw-Tite # 75751 will install on your 2010 Ford Escape without having to remove the factory hitch. I have attached the installation instructions, a video, as well as a picture to illustrate how this will look once on your vehicle. Please keep in mind that both hitch receivers will still be functional but should not be used at the same time. Using both receivers at the same time could overload your vehicle and cause damage. • Will a Hitch from a 2008 Ford Escape fit a 2012 Ford Escape
A hitch from a 2008 Ford Escape will fit a 2012 Ford Escape like the Curt Hitch part # 13650. What you would need to order is the part # RHK. On the product page you would need to enter the hitch part number and then select the hitch manufacturer. Based on the capacities you listed you either have the Curt Hitch part # 13650 or the part # C13651. You will need to check out the product pictures of either hitch so that you can compare them to the hitch you have so that you can pick out the...

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2009 Ford Escape
To carry 3 ladies bikes with your 2009 Ford Escape, I would recommend using a hitch mounted bike rack. There are 3 bike trunk mount options for your vehicle such as the Yakima HangOut 3, # Y02638, but a hitch mounted bike rack will be the safest and most convenient route. A hitch mounted bike rack like the Swagman Titan 2 Bike Rack, # S63400, would insert into a 1-1/4 inch or 2 inch trailer hitch receiver and has a tilting feature that will allow you to access your rear cargo area without...

  • Availability of 2 Inch Hitch to Fit 2009 Ford Escape with Factory Class II Tow Package and Hitch
We have two Class III 2-inch hitches that will fit underneath the OEM 1-1/4 inch hitch. One from Curt, # C13651, and one from Draw-Tite, # 75751. Either of these hitches will fit just fine with the factory hitch. However, you cannot use both the Class III hitch and the OEM Class II at the same time. It would put too much stress on the vehicle frame.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2005 Mazda Tribute
The Curt # E-3S is meant to install on a full or medium size truck step bumper, and wouldn't work on your Tribute. We do offer custom designed hitches meant to fit your vehicle, and that's what I'd recommend you use. If your Tribute already has the factory 1-1/4 inch hitch on it, use Curt # C13651. If it does NOT have the factory 1-1/4 inch hitch on it, use # 13650. If you'll be using the hitch for towing, you'll also need a wiring harness like # 118426, a ball mount like # AMSC2 and...

  • Comparing CURT Class III Trailer Hitches for a 2008 Ford Escape
The CURT Trailer Hitch # 13650 and # C13651 are very similar. The 13650 has some additional hardware and updated instructions that make it compatible with the 2012 Ford Escape. The 13651 hitch only includes up to 2011 on the Ford Escape. The other difference is that the C13651 will fit if the vehicle has a factory 1-1/4 hitch already installed.
