We love that the Reese cargo carrier is ready to install in your hitch, out of the box - just add straps and you're good to hit the road. It also has tail light cutouts so it's easy to upgrade for all your adventures in the years to come.

Features:

  • Raised rails and inset floor. The inset floor in addition to the rails really help keep your cargo contained, while providing raised anchor points all around the carrier
  • Angled shank. We've bottomed out enough of these carriers to know you're gonna want the extra ground clearance this feature provides
  • Mesh floor. This thing's gonna get dirty on the road. The mesh floor keeps road grime from building up and makes it super easy to clean
  • Tail light cutouts. Once its loaded up, your cargo might block your vehicles tail lights. These cuts let you easily add tail lights to keep you street legal
  • Simple, 1-person assembly. It literally took us a few minutes to put this together. It's so easy, we're confident in saying you could build it while loading up for your first trip with it

Reese Cargo Carrier Features

  • Locking hitch pin (e98881) upgrade to a locking hitch pin to secure the carrier in your hitch receiver

  • Ratchet straps (e72NR) secures your gear in the carrier
  • Enclosure cage (e82FV) converts basket into an enclosed carrier
  • Cargo bag (988501) provides weather resistant protection for your gear

  • Can a Trailer hitch Mount Cargo Carrier be Used at the Back of a 5th Wheel Trailer for Generator
I do have a solution for you but our contacts over at Pro Series have recently told us that the cargo carriers they manufacture, including # 63153, are not rated for use behind a 5th wheel trailer. Curt has carriers that can be used on the back of a RV like the # C18152. There is much more movement at the back of your 5th wheel trailer than on a vehicle so you will want to make the carrier as stable as possible using the built-in anti-rattle device. I also strongly recommend using straps...

  • Best Cargo Basket And Hitch Extender For 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Yes, it would be wise to grab the 8 inch extender # e88YR but the Reese Cargo Carrier # 63153 isn't what you want. It lacks the tilting feature which also means it cannot fold up to your 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited when not in use. The etrailer Cargo Carrier # e98874 can tilt and fold up! That's a feature I use alot because I don't like having to take the carrier in and out that often. With the 8 inch extension, you should be able to fold it up with no problem! If it were me, I would...

  • Recommended Cargo Carrier For 2" Hitch Receiver On 2022 Keystone Cougar 22MLS
I recommend checking out our 24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier # 63153 for use behind your 2022 Keystone Cougar 22MLS. This will fit the 2" receiver opening included from the factory and has a 2-1/2" rise built into the shank to help with ground clearance.

  • Using Exhaust Tips to Redirect Exhaust Away From Cargo Carrier
An exhaust tip that re-directs the exhaust gasses downward can indeed help protect items carried on a cargo carrier from excess heat. Using a carrier like # 63153 that has an angled shank to raise the carrier further away from the exhaust pipes also helps. If you click the provided link, you can see the various tips we have available. To choose the correct tip, you'll need to measure the outside diameter of your exhaust pipe. Most of the tips are weld-on applications, so you'd need to...

  • Will the Pro Series Trailer Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier Fit a 2008 Acura MDX
On the trailer hitches we have installed on a 2008 Acura MDX and similar models, we have found that the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to clear the rear bumper on the vehicle measures up to 5 inches. The Pro Series Cargo carrier, # 63153, measures 12-3/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest edge of the carrier so it will clear the rear bumper. This is also enough distance to allow you to open the rear hatch on the vehicle. If your tail lights are...

  • Can Any Cargo Carrier Be Used on a Trailer
The 20x47 Reese Cargo Carrier part # 63155 has a fixed shank so there won't be any reason that you couldn't use it on the rear of your travel trailer. If it had a folding shank then there would be issues as the added movement from any accessory on a trailer would create problems in the pivot point for the cargo carrier. If you are looking for a trailer hitch to attach to your trailer's bumper then we do have options for you but all of them have a 2" receiver tube. For this, I recommend...

  • Can Hitch Mounted Bike Racks be Added to Hitch Mounted Cargo Carriers to Carry Bikes and Cargo Items
We do have some options that will allow you to carry cargo and bikes on your 2012 Toyota Highlander, however, bike racks should not be mounted to a hitch mounted cargo carrier. The opening that you see on this cargo carrier is simply a hollow tube, not a receiver. Adding a bike rack to a hitch mounted cargo carrier would place too much weight too far back from the trailer hitch. This will create additional stress that the trailer hitch and your vehicle frame cannot support. It is similar...

We do offer some hitch-mounted carriers that may work for you on the back of your Sprinter RV. Using an extender in any hitch will reduce the weight carrying capacity of the hitch by 50 percent so we do not typically recommend using those. One carrier you might want to check out is the Pro Series Cargo Carrier, part # 63153. This carrier's outside dimension are 61-1/2 inches long x 25-1/2 inches wide x 5-1/2 inches tall. The distance from the center of the hitch pin to the closest edge...

The cargo bag I highly recommend for your Pro Series Cargo Carrier # 63153 is the etrailer Cargo Bag # 988501. It has 20 cubic feet of storage, is waterproof with PVC coated nylon, and has six tie-down straps that will secure it to your Pro Series Cargo Carrier. If you take a look at the photos I've added you can see exactly how this bag looks when used with the Pro Series. I've also attached links to video reviews of this bag for you to take a look at.

  • Is License Plate Bracket Needed when Using Cargo Carrier # C18113
If you wanted to mount your license plate to the Curt Cargo Carrier part # C18113 you could but we don't have a specific way to do so. You could attach something like the part # LP35BB to it if you'd be willing to modify the carrier. Now that said we've found that when license plates are obscured by cargo carriers like this police officers generally are not bothered enough to pull people over and give them a hard time. Using a rise adapter to try and gain more ground clearance isn't...

  • Cargo Carrier with Spare Tire Clearance for 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
As a first step, you will need to determine what kind of clearance you will need. Measure from the hitch pin hole rearward until you clear the furthest rearward portion of the spare tire. The cargo carrier you choose will need to have a shank that is longer than that dimension. The FAQ article I've linked for you shows how to take that measurement. If your Wrangler has the stock tire size, this distance will be around 6 inches, but if you have larger tires, this distance could be greater....

The Curt # D210 is designed to hold a cargo carrier in the top while towing but can also be used exactly how you are using it; to get more height. Provided that you are withing the capacity of the hitch, D210, vehicle, and carrier (whichever has the lowest tongue weight capacity) then there will be no problems. The D210 receiver portion has a capacity of 350 pounds. There should be a sticker on the hitch that lists its tongue weight capacity. The hitches we carry for the 2008 Odyssey...

I spoke with my contact over at Thule and they say that using a cargo basket with the Thule Cantilever # TH24002XT and Thule TracRac SR # TH43002XT-780 is not typically something that they've seen and have not tested this application use on this product. Just because they haven't seen it, doesn't mean that it can't be done, but it was noted that the Cantilever bar was not designed to carry an extremely heavy load-it was simply designed to help spread out the weight on longer loads. Hello Sue; you can definitely use the Reese 60x24 Hitch Cargo Carrier # 63153 with your 2023 Honda Ridgeline. The only thing you need is a trailer hitch with a 2" receiver. The carrier has a 500 lb capacity but you will likely be limited by the max tongue weight of the hitch so make sure you double check your hitch/vehicle capacity. If you are driving a larger suv like a Tahoe you could use the Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket item # C18115-117. This one measures 64-1/2" Long x 39" Wide x 7-1/4" Tall. Both of these...

We can definitely help set you up. The best trailer hitch for your 2024 Mazda CX-50 as far as tongue weight is going to be the Curt Class 3 Hitch # C38BR. This hitch has a 525 lb tongue weight capacity, which is the highest available for your vehicle. So you will have plenty of capacity for a hitch mounted cargo carrier. We have successfully installed this hitch on a 2013 Transit Connect here at our shop in Missouri, and I have linked our install video for you below. For your 2021 Forest River 2883WS I would recommend a hitch mounted cargo carrier over a bumper cargo carrier, as Forrest River does not recommend mounting anything the the bumper although people have done it in the past with no issues. Because of this reason, I recommend using something like the 24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # 63153. Unfortunately, you wouldn't be able to use a dual hitch adapter like # D-192 for that, as having one accessory installed would prevent you from installing one in the other receiver. They just wouldn't fit. We do have the perfect solution for you though. I'd go with the Hollywood Racks # HR1450Z-85 SportRider SE which can carry two bikes weighing up to 50 lbs each and up to 100 lbs of cargo. • Will A Bumper Mounted RV Cargo Carrier Attach To A Trailer Hitch On A 5th Wheel Trailer
The 24x84 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper # e96ZR is designed for 4" x 4" bumper tubes so this particular cargo carrier wouldn't be a compatible fit to attach to your trailer hitch crosstube. Instead I recommend a hitch mounted cargo carrier option like the 24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # 63153. Hitch mounted carriers will slide right into the receiver tube of your trailer hitch and secure with a hitch pin for a fast and convenient carrier option.
