2 inch trailer hitches have the best weight capacities and the most hitch accessories made for them so whenever available this is the hitch size to go with. So for your 2007 Mercury Mariner you'd want the part # 13650 for if you do not have a factory hitch currently or # C13651 for if you do have a factory 1-1/4 inch hitch.
For trailer wiring then you'd want the Tekonsha part # 118551 as it installs the easiest and also has the most reliable converter box.
