Question:
Part #C13651 is for Escapes with a factory installed trailer hitch. Part # 13650 is for Escapes without a factory installed trailer hitch. Are both these hitches the same height off the ground? Im not sure I understand the difference between them.

I spoke with my contact at Curt and he told me that the Curt Trailer Hitch, # C13651, does sit lower to the ground than the Curt Hitch, # 13650. Both trailer hitches will fit the 2005 to 2011 Ford Escape without a factory hitch, but the # C13651 will fit on models that were equipped with a factory 1-1/4 inch hitch.
Once installed, the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13651 will sit approximately 13-1/2 inches from the ground and hitch # 13650 will sit approximately 13-1/4 inches from the ground. The OEM hitch on the Ford Escape sits higher up in the bumper and, while the difference in the Curt hitches is not very much, the additional 1/4 inch drop is needed to clear part of the OEM hitch.
