There are several trailer hitches that will fit the 2006 Ford Escape and it is possible that those hitches will fit other vehicles so the opposite can also be true. I will break down each of the hitches to determine which vehicles they fit.

2005 - 2012 Ford Escape
2005 - 2011 Mercury Mariner

Curt hitch # C13651 fits:
2005 - 2011 Ford Escape
2005 - 2011 Mercury Mariner
2005 - 2011 Mazda Tribute

Draw-Tite hitch # 36501 and Curt hitch # C12060 fit:
2005 - 2012 Ford Escape
2005 - 2011 Mercury Mariner
2005 - 2011 Mazda Tribute

So basically, trailer hitches for the same generation Mariner and Tribute will fit the 2006 Ford Escape.
