I bought a drawtite hitch for my 2025 Volvo XC90 (Same older body style). While we did make it work the 2025 does have a “lip” of metal that prevented the back of the hitch to sit flush against the frame. There was small gap so my husband tried to pry the metal downward so the hitch was sit flush. In the end we had to push really hard and he was able to drill in the bolts enough to force it flush.
Not e-Trailers fault but just know that it’s like that for the 2025. The hitch instructions showed pics and it was slightly different on the older year models.
We did not have to cut any of the heat shield. Even with that 1 hiccup we installed it in 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Today I had to drive up a very steep drive and scraped the bottom of the hitch…so be aware of that.
Great hitch and easy install. While a little concerned over the lack of bolt threads left after the hitch and bumper install, I'll trust the engineers that it won't rip off with a heavy load. The extra included bolts add some reassurance. The bumper cover has a couple molded in lines that let you know where to trim for clearance. Didn't check the clock but was definitely less than an hour to install with basic hand tools and no assistance. Much less expensive than factory original.

Excellent and easy installation thanks to the videos. I attached the same one to my 2020 Volvo XC90 T8 and it took some coaxing to line up the mounting points and require trimming. However, on my 2023 Volvo XC90 T8 the holes lined up perfectly and no trimming was necessary. Take your time with the fender trim. Don’t “pound” it back in. The end pieces when reinstalling will require you to reach in and provide reverse pressure or else you’re gonna have a gap.

This worked perfect for my 2021 XC90 T8 recharge. I bought the wiring harness and trailer control module from Volvo and installed everything myself (had to have the dealership program the TCM). I took my time (~4 hours), the biggest issue was how to install the 7-pin connector. The final result works great to tow my vintage trailer!

I have a 2026 Volvo XC90. The website has no recommendations yet for the 2026 but had some changes from 2025. The hitch fit perfectly onto the bolts but the sheet metal to the inside of the bolts has a metal stamping holding the inside of the hitch off the bolts. Had to adjust the small stamping with a 3 lb hammer. Then fit perfect. Be careful with fascia putting it back on so to hit each snap.
Product arrived on time and was well packaged. The online videos helped me pick the right hitch for my needs and car. The installation video showed me how to install it and was very well done. I had no surprises when installing it however as with most of these projects it took longer and was a bit harder than I hoped it would be.
It was a pleasure working with Joshua B and etrailer to get my new hitch receiver. The order was reasonably priced and came quickly. It was well packaged and had great instructions of how to install the receiver. (I did not install the hitch myself, but a friend installed it on my car.) There were no problems with getting the hitch and putting it on. I also ordered a pin alignment stop, but did not need it, so I plan to return this item. I would definitely order from etrailer again. We watched the videos, taped off the quarters, easily removed everything, trimmed the heat shields and began the hitch install. We couldn't believe how easy the process was - only hiccup was the bending of the brackets for the rear bumper cover (T25 underneath). Once they were "re-adjusted" we finished the re-install of the cover!! Now, on to the wiring!! Thanks for the videos, they really help!! Only wish is that it was a bit more discrete...
Fits perfect easy installation .
I have purchased and installed a few Draw-Tite hitches and have yet to be disappointed. Quality-made product. Everything you need to install is included. Easy to install.
This hitch was installed on a 2022 Volvo XC90 T6 Inscription. Hitch installation only required about one hour with a little bit of prep and clean-up time. For this specific vehicle, the heat shield only required a minor nip (and not as much as the instructions suggested), and the facia was already shaped to accommodate the hitch (maybe factory finished for a towing option?).
Two suggested additional steps to the installation that we have done with every hitch project: 1) Lightly sand and apply a bit of paint to the mounting surface after removing the bumper; it is usually bare metal and sometimes already starting to oxidize. 2) Apply a little bit of anti-seize to the fasteners for the bumper / hitch.
We are very satisfied with the hitch and the upgrade to our vehicle!

Not one issue after 1 year on my 2022 Xc90 T8
2020 Volvo XC90 T8 Hybrid. Yes it fits. I’ve installed several of these and the holes need “convincing” with a rubber mallet against the bolts to fit. It’s frustration but a little creativity goes a long way. If the holes lines up without coaxing I’d give this 5 Stars. Tap the bolts with a 2x4 wood buffer and a rubber mallet until it goes into the hitch hole. At this point you may have damaged the thread on the bolts so take the nuts and tightening them all the way down to re-thread the bolt. Then take the bolts off and attached them metal bumper plate and attach the bolts again. Also, take your time taking the plastic trim pieces off. Putting them back on requires patience. Don’t use too much force. It’s the plastic tabs are in the right place, snapping them in does not take much effort. Good luck!
Fantastic hitch. Easier to install than I was expecting. Some very minor trimming of the plastic and heat shields. Watch the etrailer video and you can’t go wrong.

Hitch worked out OK. Needed to trim fascia more than was indicated in the instructions (notch at each side plate). Also, our XC60 has the sensor that opens/closes the tailgate if you move your foot below the drivers side rear bumper, which made fitting a bit more challenging. Instructions were pretty vague, so it helped to look at the install instructions for the factory hitch/wiring harness (google instructions 31454723 for part 31439424) for details of how to remove body components. Factory hitch definitely would have installed quicker, for a few more $$$.
Yesterday I installed this Drawtite hitch on my 2019 Volvo XC90. Dealer said it would be $1,600 and would require programming the cars computer to do the taillights.
We installed the hitch and taillight kit from etrailer yesterday. It took about 2 hrs. It was a perfect fit. It did not require dropping the muffler nor notching the heat shield. We did notch the bumper but Volvo already had the notch marked!

I purchased the hitch about a year ago and have been very happy I did. Installation was very straight forward on my 2024 XC90 and the instructions were excellent. I would certainly buy from trailer again!
Great, clean install on 2019 Volvo XC90. Installation video was super helpful to self-install in approximately 2 hrs. Minor bumper trimming required (but can't be seen from looking at vehicle). No other modifications required -- just bolt it on. Paired the install with a Volvo OEM tow wiring harness to get: OEM 7-pin/4-pin plug, integration with stability control, backup camera tow bar function, and trailer lighting checks.
Fit perfectly and very sturdy very happy with this purchase.

I haven't towed yet so this review is for the install and fit. It fits perfectly. Followed the clear instructions from the video on your website and it was a straight-forward install on my 2019 XC90. The trickiest part is the lower bolts - I couldn't get the threads to bite until I put in the new 4th screw and tightened it up a bit. I had to go back and forth between the two lower bolts until they were snug. I was also a bit nervous about taking off the rear fascia but using the same panel removal tool as in the video made it easy and nothing to be worried about. Just took my time and everything went smoothly. Also, I measured and cut the fascia just as instructed and it came out perfectly and that was the first time using a Dremel cutting tool (I know, I should have practiced first, but it worked out). This was a good project and worth my time to do myself. Took about 2.5 hours including cleanup.
Only used a few times but overall the installation instructions and videos made the install super easy. Would absolutely use again.
Perfect fit and easy to install. The 2021 installation video works fine for the 2022 model year. I did not need to trim the heat shield nor the bumper fascia, so it was just a bit easier than the video showed. Watch the whole video and unpack the bag inside the hitch before you start. Took about two hours with my son helping me.
