Question:

Do you still have to hammer the fascia supports and trim the heat shield on the 2024 XC60 Recharge? You had to do it in your install video on a 2021 XC60 for this Draw-Tite Class 4, but you didnt have to on the Curt Class 3 when installed on a 2024 XC60, and for the life of me I cant see any noticeable difference in the design of the two hitches.

Great question, Tex!

You are correct that both the Curt # C92WR and Draw-Tite # 76194 trailer hitch receivers have the same basic design for your 2024 Volvo XC60 Recharge. We actually had the opportunity to install the Curt on a 2024 XC60 so if your XC60 Recharge has the same cutout in the bumper that we show in the video (and I've attached in a photo) then you won't have to trim anything or hammer anything into place.

If the rear bumper on your XC60 Recharge doesn't have the cutout then you will need to do a bit of trimming in order to get either hitch to properly fit.

Thanks. I was really wondering whether the drawtite (class iv) can be installed now without trimming and bending. The timming is no big deal, but we’re not exactly eager to hammer away at our new car’s fascia supports.

@Tex If you check out the linked installation video it doesn't look like we had to modify any of the fascia supports for the installation - hope this helps!

@JonG Thanks and I apologize but I still think we're talking past each other. My question is whether the Draw Tite (Class IV) still requires hammering away at the fascia support. The video you reference is for the Curt, not the Draw Tite. The most recent model shown in the Draw Tite videos that I can find is a 2021 and that shows a need to hammer the supports down. This is important because I'd rather install a Class IV (Draw Tite) than Class III (Curt), but if the Draw Tite requires me to bang up the fascia support, that's not happening. (Also not happening for me is the Stealth hitch where one is required to abandon the factory bumper reinforcement bar altogether).

@Tex Thanks for reaching back out! What I'm seeing is the Draw-Tite hitch sits ever so slightly lower and closer to the vehicle than the Curt hitch does. When comparing our installation videos that fascia support looks to be in the same place on the vehicles so if you install the Draw-Tite you will most likely need to bend that fascia in (I only say most likely because we haven't installed the hitch on a 2024 yet). Curt hitches tend to be a little more durable and even though it's a Class III, the tow rating is 4,000 lbs which looks to be 500 lbs over what your vehicle is rated to tow anyways so I recommend going with the Curt on this one.
