Manfacturing quality could be better - chain loops welded on crooked - visible to the eye (ongoing issue with Draw-Tite as I've had this on others from them). Packing is poor - ends/attach points poking through the box and scratched up. I've order a few receivers here - always the case. Plan on doing some touch-up painting before installation.
Jenny N - 08/09/2023My 2nd order from etrailer. Will knew of the best inconspicuous hitch available for my Rav4 along with the trailer light kit. Fantastic customer service even asking if I needed anything else since my SUV was new. He mentioned a few things and I ended up ordering great mud guards that mounted up without tire removal. Between YouTube videos and printed instructions, we got the hitch, wiring and mud guards installed fairly quickly. A great experience and I will be back.
Well built and fits great on my 22' Rav4. Only complaint is the paint quality. Not sure if they used any primer, as some of the paint came off during shipping. Then some more came off where I rested the hitch on a jack to lift it into place when installing. I had to apply primer/paint to the bare metal to prevent rusting in the future.
Travelled across the country with this hitch supporting a bike rack with my two price possession bikes on it. Have checked to see if I need to tighten it down at all, but it is all set and the perfect hitch. This is my second time having an etrailer hitch and I will return to them again and again for any vehicle hitch needs. Thank you!
I received my order two days earlier than what was anticipated. After the hitch was installed I tried it out for a two day getaway. Worked like a charm. Very well pleased and satisfied. The associate who helped me was/is a pleasure to worked with. She answered all my questions not only about the receiver hitch, but about other products as well. Yes I will do my business with them again.
The product arrived on schedule. I read the instructions and got my tools out. I ordered the exhaust hanger removal tool. This was a great less than $20 investment. I have never removed the hangers with such ease. Everything went as planned as I got the two top bolts into the hitch. Then there was a problem. The hook installed on my 2020 RAV4 did not allow the hitch to swing all the way up to put in the final two bolts. See the pictures. I had to go find the right socket and remove hook. Then I was able to complete the installation. The hitch cannot be installed with the factory hook on the passenger side. Hopefully I'll never need the hook. The hitch frame can probably serve the same purpose as it could be used to tie something down.
As others have said, the container was in rough condition but the receiver and parts were intact. The installation went exactly as shown in the etrailer video. I can use my boat again!
watched the video and ran wire exactly as shown. the lights and hitch have been working ever since.
Ordering process was excellent. Shipping was fast. Product fit was very good but as others have said the finish had multiple chips and scratches.
Fit perfectly without having to remove the muffler. My wife and I installed it in less than a half hour. It looks solid and came on time and the package was undamaged.
On time can’t wait to star hauling
The hitch was received a bit scratched up but that wasn't a huge deal to me but something to note if you are a stickler. I was able to ask my partner to help me install it and he used the help of his brother and sister to get under the car and help him lift the hitch up and secure everything in place. A year later and its still on nicely and intact and I have no complaints. Wish I could post a picture but I cant find my phone at the moment, but this is a real review if that makes you feel better. This was applied on my RAV4 LE 2021.
Jenny N - 04/05/2022Had difficulty with the left side bolts because of how the vehicle is manufactured. Had to buy a torque wrench extension and then do the math. Fun! Toyota has all the tools so it's no problem for them to do this kind of install. However, the hitch is good and has worked very well for hauling my 4x8 trailer.
Fit perfectly and install was a breeze in my own driveway!
This is the third time I've ordered the same receiver hitch for my bike rack, each for a separate car. Initially, I started ordering from Etrailer because they were located in Wentzville MO and since I'm originally from Missouri, I liked being able to promote the community of my home state. However, since I've purchased the three receiver hitches and Swagman XC2 bike rack from Trailer, I've been extremely impressed with their timeliness in shipping and additional service available after the fact. Once I get this receiver hitch installed, I will try to provide pictures of receiver hitch upon our RAV4. Until then, this review is geared towards Etrailer and the excellent service they provide. Perfect fit and fast shipping
I watched the video. It was very helpful. Although this is really an easy job with a little help from a second person I was able to install the hitch myself on the floor of my garage. A second strap to help hold up the hitch made it work.

Good fit on my 2022 Toyota RAV4
This is my fourth hitch purchased from etrailer in the last few yrs and it has been a great experience each time. Shipping is very quick and the installation videos are amazingly helpful for a non skilled average Joe such as myself allowing me to do the installs. Hitch does a good solid job hauling my 50 lb bike rack carrying two 50 lb e bikes.
