Question:

Considering purchase of either 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid or 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid. Do you offer hitches for either of these Hybrids? Thank you.

Hi Grant!

We have hitches for both vehicles and I have then listed below:

2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid:
Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C77MJ

2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid:
etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e83ZR

Both of these are 2" Class 3 hitches and will max out the capacity of the vehicles. The Forester Hybrid can tow up to 1,500 pounds and the RAV4 Hybrid can tow up to 1,750 pounds, so those will me the max you can tow, even though the hitches are technically rated higher than that (you are always limited by the lowest rated component).

The hitch for the RAV4 is much more hidden than the one for the Forester (see attached images), but it is more expensive.

Which way do you think you will be going? I will admit to preferring Toyota over Subaru. I don't like that Subaru uses silicone to seal their heads instead of a gasket, but that's just my opinion.

Hey Grant, did you decide to go with the RAV4 Hybrid or the Forester Hybrid for your hitch setup? It’d be great to hear which one you chose and how the hitch fit worked out. Your update could make it easier for others comparing these two vehicles.

Waiting to check out the "all new" 2026 RAV4. Heard rumors that the 2006 all wheel drive can tow up to 3500 pounds. Is this true? Also assume you folks will have a hitch to fit the redesigned RAV4? Thanks.

@GrantH There is indeed a full redesign for the 2026 Toyota RAV4. I have also seen the 3,500 pound towing capacity for the all wheel drive versions, but we will have to wait and see if that changes once it is released (which should be in December of 2025). And I'm sure we will have hitches available for it pretty quickly after it's released. It's a super popular vehicle and the hitch manufacturers are probably on the edges of their seats with anticipation! : )

Just purchased a 2026 Toyota RAV4 XLE Premium Hybrid AWD. Not sure what the towing capacity is, either 1750 or 3500. Interested in purchasing a class 3/4 hitch. Assume you folks are researching the 2026 models now. Thanks.

@GrantH They are currently being designed and/or produced. They aren't out quite yet, but it should be very soon. I can't give an exact date though.
