Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

I recently ordered a Class 1 receiver hidden trailer hitch for my 2008 Hyundai and was very pleased with the service I received. After watching the installation videos I saw how easy it was to do myself. When I sent emails to inquire about the correct light hook up for the trailer there was no delay in their response. I was contacted by phone by representative Jesse M. and he helped me pick the right Tekonsha T-One wiring harness. I got everything I need in less than 3 days to install my trailer hitch. Thanks etrailer

Great Price. Was easy to install. Looks great

Nice heavy quality, good fit, boxed well, tester is nice.

by:
2010 Hyundai Elantra

The fit was perfect on my 2010 Elantra, requiring only one bumper tab to be trimmed. It is a snug fit, but bolts right on in about 20 minutes.

by:

Products came quickly and installed much as decribed. Took a little muscle ;) but fit in nicely. Highly recommend and tutorials were a selling point for me.

by:
2008 Hyundai Elantra

The hitch was easy to install and did not take much time.
Great service and product

2009 Mazda 3

Very easy install, (much easier then my Mazda 3 was). Only took about 15 minutes. Hitch is hardly noticeable! Highly recommended!

by:

Simple installation. Timely delivery. The salesman I spoke with was incredibly helpful and very pleasant. Made moving a pleasure.

by:

Serves the purpose. I did not try to install it on my own. Did in the service center for $45. Works well.

by:
2009 Hyundai Accent

Product was easy to install on my 09 accent. It is indeed hidden pretty well.

as for hooking up the wiring with the optional wiring kit. I had to extend the wires and mount the box to the hitch under my car; with the wires coming up behind my bumper and tail light. Since i have the hatchback version i couldn't get to the wires from inside the car. everything is nice and tucked away and i am happy

by:

Arrived quickly and in great condition. Very easy installation, just as indicated in 30 minutes.

by:
2007 Hyundai Elantra

Nice fitInstallation was just as described. Very easy! Nice look. All you can see is the receiver, the rest is hidden. 2007 Elantra.

by:

I was a little skeptical about how "easy" this would be to install (difficulty 3 on a scale of 10), but was pleasantly surprised. It literally took me about 1/2 hour to install it. Everything fit as claimed. I watched the video first and had a very good understanding of what I needed to do. This usually doesn't happen, I find that normally these "easy to do" projects require much more work and time than claimed. Thanks guys.

2009 Hyundai Accent

Easy to install on my 2009 Accent 3 door hatchback. The hitch hangs lower then I expected, it could have been and inch or so higher. If I had known this I would have gone with another brand that was drawn up closer to the bumper.

by:
Hyundai Elantra

The hitch easy to mountFairly easy to mount the hitch on the Elantra, took me about an hour. The electrics were super simple to install.Well pleased with the product.

by:
Hyundai Elantra

Instructions good. Perfect fit - says something about both the product and the car. I turned spacers to fill out the drawbar mount holes for less slop because the Elantra frame uses the smaller bolts in the package. The bolts still went in by hand. Took about an hour including coffee and clean up.

by:

Fair Prices Immediate Shipping Terrific Communication during order selection, shipping and after
Parts packed securely
Thorough and plentiful video assistance
Parts fit precisely
Overall - EXCELLENT in all respects.
THANK YOU!

by:

Got it delivered in 3 days. Took about 20 Min. to install. Seems like a great product. Hardest part of install was getting the bumper tab plastic screws out. They have a plastic screw and the head strips before they come out. I pulled them out and replaced them. Watch the install video and its a breeze.

by:

Great service, quick delivery. Simple installation & video online in ad
for product was excellent. My only problem was not having a car lift or ramps. Trying to work under a compact car with little ground clearance was a real challenge.

by:

Installation was slightly more difficult than described, specifically getting the hitch behind the back plastic bumper. Also, it was imperative to clean the bolt holes of dirt, grime, and small particles. In general, it was a one-hour project with no other major installation or use issues.

by:
2011 Hyundai Accent

I received the trailer hitch a day earlier then expected. I installed it on my 2011 Hyundai Accent and I am very pleased with it. I installed it so I could use my bike rack with it so I did not install any wiring.
It really takes two people, one person to help hold it up in place while the other person screws the bolts in place, other than that I followed the instructions and all went as advertised.

Great hitch quality; best bargain for the money; free shipping; and it arrived in only a few days!
Make sure you follow the directions exactly to make it fit. If not experienced, have a helper to pull fascia plastic bumper away and lift opposite end while installing. Might be easier under a lift instead of working from garage floor on your back. The advertised 30 minute install and "3 out of 10" difficulty rating is for a pro.

  • Difference Between Hidden Hitch # 60872 and Draw-Tite # 24795 for 2008 Hyundai Elantra
When it comes to the difference between the Hidden Hitch, # 60872 (no longer available), and the Draw-Tite, # 24795, trailer hitches for a 2008 Hyundai Elantra, part # 60872 includes a ball mount, hitch pin, and clip. If you do not plan to do any towing with your Elantra, these extra components would be unnecessary. Other than that, the hitches are nearly identical since the two manufacturers are sister companies. If you are still in the market for a hitch mounted bike rack, one of my...

  • Difference Between The Curt C11092 And The Draw-Tite Sportframe 24795 Trailer Hitch
The difference between the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11092 and the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24795 is that # 24795 has a hidden cross-tube design and will actually sit above the exhaust which is why there isn't an L bracket like the Curt # C11092. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11092 will sit below the exhaust which is why the L bracket is needed, and has an exposed cross tube. I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe # 24795, because it offers the same weight...

  • Can a 2 Inch Trailer Hitch be Installed on a 2009 Hyundai Elantra Sedan
There is only one Class I, 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch available for your 2009 Hyundai Elantra, the Draw-Tite hitch # 24795. If your bike rack only fits a 2 inch hitch then you would have to use an adapter, # HTAD, to be able to use that specific rack. The use of an adapter will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent. All of the hitches for the Elantra have a tongue weight capacity of 200 pounds so when using the adapter the capacity is reduced to 100 pounds....

I do have an option for you for extra storage but the owners manual on your 2010 Hyundai Elantra does not recommend using that vehicle for trailer towing. A lot of people still do it but it is not recommended by the vehicle manufacturer and could lead to damage to the vehicle. Instead I recommend using a cargo carrier on your hitch. The Draw-Tite hitch #24795 will fit your 2010 Hyundai Elantra as long as it is the Sedan model. The main difference between the Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 60872, and the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 24795, is that the # 60872 (no longer available) has a drawbar, pin and clip included with it, whereas the # 24795 does not include those things. When we installed the Draw-Tite Class I hitch, part # 24795 on a 2010 Hyundai Elantra, we found that the hitch pin hole in the receiver was recessed by 6 inches, as shown in the provided photo. This means that the hitch mounted accessory like a bike rack you choose such as the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider, part # HR200Z would need to have a shank that has a hitch pin hole to closest portion of the rack distance longer than 6 inches. • What is the Towing Capacity of a 2010 Hyundai Accent
The best place to confirm a vehicle's rated towing capacity, or to find out if it even has one, is the owner's manual. Since equipment can vary between versions of a vehicle sometimes the towing/cargo weight capacities may also differ. If you cannot find a definitive statement in your owners manual then you may want to speak to your local dealership, giving them your car's VIN number. This way your specific vehicle's capacity can be confirmed absolutely. Do please note that all of the...
