What Hitch and Wiring do I Need for My 2022 Toyota Highlander XSE?

Question:

Greetings, I am looking for a hitch for my 2022 Toyota Highlander XSE and I was looking at C99FR that is on sale for $241.51 I am confused because the listing page says both excluding XSE and XSE Models. Will this part fit my vehicle? Thank you

Greetings George,

I understand your confusion, and I get this question a lot. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C99FR fits all models of the 2022 Toyota Highlander. So yes, it will work great for your XSE model. Sometimes the hitch will only fit one model so in that spot it will just say "XSE models" or "excluding XSE."

I see that you already found the wiring to go with it the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # TK99FR will be a great fit for towing a light trailer without brakes or to plug in hitch mounted accessory. Don't forget to grab a Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat # 18144 for a clean looking install.

If you do not already have a ball mount the etrailer Ball Mount w/ Pre-Torqued 2" Ball - 2" Hitch - 2" Drop - 7,500 lbs # e67DR would be excellent for some light towing. Our etrailer 2" ball comes in a black nickel coating that gives it a nice sleek design, and it even comes with a hitch pin and clip.

Thank you very much for the thorough response. I plan to use it to mount a bike rack or possibly a cargo rack. I don't think I will mount a trailer, but it couldn't hurt to install the wiring while I am down there.

@George Absolutely, George! There may come a time when you'll be glad you went ahead and installed the wiring, better to have it and not need it than the other way around.
