With the SuperHitch Original's 2 receivers, you can tow a trailer and carry a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier at the same time. And if you have a truck bed camper, this hitch has pre-drilled mounting points for TorkLift's super-sturdy camper tie-towns (sold separately). You can also add one of TorkLift's SuperTruss hitch extensions (sold separately) to extend the top receiver of the SuperHitch so that it clears your camper, allowing you to tow your trailer while your camper's installed.

Truck Bed Camper Compatibility

TorkLift is known for their truck camper tie-down systems and other camper accessories, so it just makes sense that they would have camper enthusiasts in mind when designing a trailer hitch. Each SuperHitch is built with integrated mounting points for TorkLift camper tie-downs, making it easier than ever to get a quality tie-down system for your slide-in camper.

TorkLift SuperTruss in SuperHitch

The dual-receiver design of the SuperHitch also makes it easy to tow with your truck bed camper in place. The SuperTruss line of high-capacity hitch extenders is specially designed to extend the hitch receiver back far enough to clear your bed-mounted camper, while still allowing for an excellent towing capacity. An ordinary hitch extender can dramatically reduce your towing capacity. But each SuperTruss extension forms such a solid connection with the SuperHitch that the setup is able to maintain one of the highest weight capacities in the industry. When used with a standard weight distribution system, the setup can maintain up to a 10,000-lb weight limit, even with an extension that is 60" long. As a result, you can clear almost any truck bed camper and still do some heavy-duty towing.

Dual Receivers for Maximum Versatility

With the SuperHitch from TorkLift, you can tow your trailer and use a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier at the same time. This is thanks to the dual-receiver design of the SuperHitch.

Most trailer hitches have a single receiver. Typically, you can find an adapter or extension piece that will slide into your hitch to give you 2 receivers, but these adapters dramatically reduce both your towing capacity and your tongue weight, limiting how much you can tow, as well as how much you can carry with a bike rack or cargo carrier. Each SuperHitch is specially constructed to maintain a high weight capacity so that you can use the 2 receivers without sacrificing towing or carrying ability.

Torklift has been spectacular. It has performed flawlessly towing my Jeep around. The secondary receiver is great for the spare tire carrier.

Excellent product

Holy cow this is an amazing hitch! It fit perfectly on my 2001 Ford excursion diesel 4X4. The bolt wire fishing tool easily solved the problem of accessibility with the huge factory 45 gallon diesel tank in the way. I couldn’t believe how easy this install was. And it has a ton of ground clearance and the top receiver is almost exactly where the factory receiver hole would be.

It was a project for sure. With limited access due to large fuel tank, and have to drill out two of the factory bolts it took much longer than anticipated. I considered not using both fender washers as directed, and wanted to loctite all bolts. I dislike the supplied 7-pin mount, seems to place connector far too low. I'm still looking for a solution, and may re-use factory part. Hitch is an amazing piece once installed. Ford dealer quoted me $125 to install, once I was finished I wish I had taken them up on the that deal!

One year later and this amazing receiver is still as good as the day it was installed. It does hang lower than the factory hitch it replaced, but it hasnt been an issue. I reused the OEM 7-pin mount after some clean up and a respray. I used stainless steel pipe clamps from the local home improvement retailer to secure to the hitch. It fits nicely under the bumper and is well protected.

by:

This Hitch is the best hitch I have ever purchased. Easy to install everything was included. If you looking for heavy duty an American made then you can't go wrong with this hitch.

Thank you Tammy D. for helping me.

Thanks again

Great product other than the power coat paint. It’s rusting just like I said it would, whoever came up with powder coating should be fired.

Rocks and flying debris under the vehicle can sometimes cause scratches and dings in the powder coating of the hitch. Routinely check the hitch for scratches and immediately spray paint any bare metal areas with a black spray paint such as rustoleum to prevent rust. Also, periodically washing the hitch off with fresh water will prevent corrosion from salt exposure. I have attached a link about rust prevention.

Better than the stock receiver by far. Stock one rusted out and need to replace it. We tow a 12k lbs. Toyhauler with our Excursion. This works great!

Still a great product.

I am a repeat customer of etrailer.com. As always the customer service they provide is top notch. They also offer some of the best prices around. This hitch is a special order item and an etrailer customer rep was in constant contact with me. She provided me with updates and ETAs on my special order. As far as the hitch goes its also a great product. Torklift also has great customer service. I have used Torklift hitches before and they are very well made and very sturdy. They provide a massive tongue load rating. Thats the most often overloaded weight on a hitch.

by:

Excellent customer service, excellent install instructions.
I have used this for not only towing, but also stump removal (as well as chain breaking service) and it has not disappointed.

by:

It rocks I have an 11k weight 38 foot travel trailer no issues. The extra bulk steel around the hitch pin holes really help prevent rounding out pin movement.

by:

Product is the best I’ve seen ...but....

I
would say the directions lack some important information..... when undoing the old hitch they neglect to tell you that the factory nut plates can puncture a hole in the fuel tank unless you remove bolts in a certain order... so I punctured a hole in mine ... also the new hitch makes retightening the fuel tank bolts very difficult.... with this said the hitch itself is great !

by:

I love this hitch. The only think that could be improved on is the profile of the plug frame. I'm not sure how, but is seems to hang lower than necessary.

by:
FordExcursion

Just what I was looking for, it's larger and heavy duty even the chain holes are double plated. I'm very excited to install and put it to work. I am very happy with the whole setup.

by:

Item arrived before estimated time and in perfect condition. Old hitch broke and bought this as a replacement. Better than factory by far.

by:

Nice looking unit. Starting to see surface rust over entire hitch.

by:

Absolutely Love the hitch. Built extremely well. Would definitely buy again.

by:

Excellent hitch

  • Long Ball Mount and Hitch Extension for 2000 Ford Excursion with Dual Rear-Mount Spare Tires
The extra-long 2-inch ball mount we offer, part # EA40 from Brophy, is 15-3/4-inches long and may give you the clearance you need at your dual rear-mounted spare tires to let you use a friction sway control unit like # 83660 on a bracket # RP26003. If you measure from the center of your hitch pin hole rearward 15-3/4-inches that point will be where the center of the hitch ball hole will be. Do note however that this ball mount is rated for 6000-lbs gross trailer weight and 600-lbs tongue...

  • Charging Trailer Battery and Weight Distribution for 38 ft Primetime Lacrosse 3311RK
Most people will trickle charge their trailer battery through the 12-volt accessory circuit of the 7-way trailer wiring connector. You'd basically just run a wire from the 1:00 pin of the 7-way to the positive terminal of the battery # BRW37FR and it would receive a trickle charge when you are towing. You'd want to use 10 gauge wire like the # 10-1-1 which we offer by the foot. If the tow vehicle side of this connection isn't made you'd can use 10 gauge wire for this as well but you'd also...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2000 Ford Excursion
The 2000 Ford Excursion is actually rated for 10,000 pounds gross trailer weight. The 18,000 pounds is the gross combined weight rating or GCWR. The GCWR is the most that the Excursion and trailer can weigh including cargo, passengers, and fuel. So the Excursion cannot tow 18,000 pounds and its weight plus the trailers weight cannot exceed 18,000 pounds. The trailer can weigh up to 10,000 pounds total but no more. With that said the highest capacity trailer hitch we have for your vehicle...

  • Curt Hitch C14011 Installation on 2001 Ford Excursion
You will naturally be better off if your shop does NOT break off the factory weld nuts when removing the OEM hitch from the frame rails on your 2001 Excursion. Given the vehicle's age its quite likely that the bolts securing the OEM hitch will have some rust.
