With a multi-ball adjustable ball mount like the B&W # BWTS20040B and the similar chrome-finish model # BWTS20040C, both intended for 2-1/2-inch hitches, the weight rating depends on which of the hitch balls is in use.
As you might expect, the larger ball will have a higher weight rating. The 2-inch hitch ball is rated for 7500-lbs towing and the 2-5/16-inch ball is rated for 18,000-lbs.
Either ball mount can be used along with a locking pin # C23025.
