What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out this Brophy Ball Mount. So this is gonna go in a two and a half inch hitch, and it's gonna bring the ball out just a little bit more to give you more room when you're towing for those tight turns. Let's check it out. Now the extra length on the ball mount is gonna help you out. Get more space between the trailer and your truck, which is gonna help out when you turns.
You're less likely to jackknife if you have one of those trailers that has a shorter tongue. This is just gonna get further away and help you out going down the road. Measuring from the top of our hitch here on the inside to where the ball sits, it's gonna have a two inch drop. Now you can put it in the rise position too, that'd be just flipping this upside down, then the ball will sit right here level with the top of the hitch. I do wanna point out that the ball does not come with the ball mount, so I can loosen up and I can show you.
You want to also get one that has the right diameter. There's gonna be an inch and a quarter for this inch and a quarter diameter opening on the mount and make sure you get the right one that fits your coupler and the ball mount. I tighten the ball down hand-tight, but you're gonna need to torque this when you actually go to put this on there. So this is not tight enough for it. This is just demonstration purposes, so make sure you torque it down to the specified instructions.
This is gonna have a trailer weight rating of 10,000 pounds. It's gonna have a tongue weight rating of 1,000 pounds, so just keep that in mind with what kind of truck and trailer combination you're using. Now, it's also got a black powder coat finish on this sturdy steel construction so you don't have to worry about rust or corrosion if you leave this in the hitch and the elements. It also doesn't come with its own hitch pin, so I suggest getting one on the site. Might as well get a locking hitch pin as a recommendation just to lock up the ball mount so that nobody can mess with it when you're not around.
Overall, it's gonna be a good ball mount, especially if your truck and your trailer is already level. You only have one trailer with one coupler, so this is gonna work fine. That extra space from the hitch and the coupler is gonna help you out too. If you're having problems with tight turns, your trailer coming a little too close, this will get more space in between there. Now for some suggestions, if maybe you have two different trailers or a few different, they have different size couplers and you don't wanna switch this out all the time or they're at different heights, you can get an adjustable ball mount. There's plenty of options out there to look at to wear on the fly. You can just move it up or down, switch it out. Even some of 'em have a dual ball design where you can flip it and then be on your way once it's hooked up to the trailer. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. Hope this helped.

the box was torn and parts are missing i called in today 4.45 pm to report this please call me to resend this order back out this is 2nd time this week this has happened !! my buisness is across road from Dexter in tuscumbia it is tempted to not do buisness with etrailer anymore and use Dexter order i am sending photos of torn box that was retaped by someone in shipping but they forgot to put items back in box !! bad buissness !!! please respond !!!!

The original order for this mount busted out of the shipping box while in transit to me. I notified etrailer sending them a picture of the ripped-open box and they notified me that a replacememt would be send ASAP. I received the replacement mount in 7 days.

Just received the product and installed it (7/10). Ordered June 28th and it was in stock. Called Theresa -who was wonderful - and George T. said item was to be here July 6. The products are fine, the service was fine, but the delivery times changed 3 times.But, I would still recommend E-Trailer and the product.

Ball mount is awesome! Just what I needed, my aftermarket bumper has a long step that wont allow a normal hitch to work. It sits underneath the step, the only thing that would of work is a ball mount with more of a drop. Then my trailer would of dragged on the ground. I don't have a lift on my F150. I forgot to take some before photos but I have the after photos and its just awesome. Hope this helps!

I was looking for an extended ballmount for my dually as a regualr size ballmount with a 2" drop would not clear my heavy duty bumper. I have a 6" drop but it is too low for my new car hauler trailer. After finding this Brophy ball mount, BH20, I ordered it right away. I was pleasantly surprised to receive it in only a few days. I expected to get it in about a week.
This ballmount is just as described. Solid, heavy-duty(10K lbs. with a 1K lb. tongue weight) and fits great. See my before and after pics. The extension is enough to clear my bumper while using a 2" drop. Thanks, etrailer!

- 2 1/2” Ball Mount Extension for Tailgate Clearance I have a solution for your tailgate clearance issue but we do not have a 2 1/2" extension that doesn't reduce that is also around the length you are looking for. I recommend going with an extended ball mount. Item # BZ20 is the Brophy Ball Mount for 2-1/2" hitches it has 3/4" rise or 2" drop and is 13-1/4" long. I have linked a review video.
