Geoff: Hello, everybody. This is Geoff at etrailer.com. Today, I'm going to take a look at this conventional single spring ramp door spring for up to a seven foot wide enclosed trailer and this has an 80 pound spring capacity. Now, this will let you replace your old trailer door spring with this nice heavy duty conventional ramp door spring and it's ramp door spring lets you easily lift and lower the door on your enclosed trailer without the risk of injury. Basically, it'll help take on the weight of the trailer door so that you don't have to. The spring does reduce wear and also helps produce damage to your door hinges and the spring is designed to mount one way for proper operation and basically what you want to look at is when you're installing the spring, the cable drums are marked with a splotch of paint.
You can see right here there's a black mark on this one and then there's a red mark on this one right here. If I'm standing on the inside of the trailer looking out, the cable drum with the black spot on it, that should be on the left hand side of the trailer when you install it.Now, to install this, there is a warning. It is recommended that only individuals who have experience winding torsion springs install this product because when you get to winding the spring, tension gets very dangerous, could cause injury. If you've not worked with a torsion spring system before, we do recommend contacting a local garage door company to help you install this system. What's nice also, this spring system can be modified to fit your specific application.
You can slide the mounting bracket, the bearing and the cable drum down and then cut off the remaining shaft if you're going to put this on a shorter length or shorter width to work. If you slid this all the way down, the minimum you could put it on would be a 38 inch wide trailer door or if you slid it all the way out, the maximum would be a 77 inch wide trailer door. It does include the mounting brackets with the bearings and the hardware to install it.Also, on the table here, it comes with the 100 length, which is just about nine feet of 1/8 inch diameter cable and the hardware to install that. Comes with a nice set of instructions and it comes with this set screw cover that, once you get your spring all tightened down, this will go over the set screws once they're tightened. This is a nice sturdy steel construction.
It is made in the USA. Few specs, if we measure from the end of this pipe all the way to the end of this end is going to be 77 inches wide. The diameter, which will be the drum diameter, is 4 3/4 inches. And we mentioned the spring capacity is 80 pounds. But that should do it for the review on this conventional single spring ramp door spring for up to seven foot wide enclosed trailer and this has an 80 pound spring capacity..

I bought this to retrofit an enclosed trailer that was originally built with exterior springs.
This is a major improvement over the other style and money well spent. Everything went smoothly according to the instructions. I was good at 38.
My door is now a "one hand wonder".
It was what ordered, had all parts that was needed & arrive in a reasonable time.
The spring was great but the cables were too short.
Fast shipping, good people too do business with, just give them a a call they will help anyway they can thanks for everything
Took less than 4 hours to fit and install. I added a ramp to a double door cargo trailer was a strain to close until I added this spring now can close with ease. Perfect for my now motorcycle trailer

This product worked great! I just got installed last night on a ramp door that I built for a shed. No problem and everything functions well. No problem winding it just watch a couple videos first and be very very careful
Exactly as described. I was concerned because processing of order took so long according to the order tracking but it did arrive on time as promised and installed fairly easily.

Product is good and quality was as expected. Instructions were decent. Packaging was very poor. Product was dropped into oversized box with no packaging materials. Arrived with rod sticking out of the end of the box and a crack in the cable wheel. Wasn't worth the effort to return, so I used as-is.
