Old drum brakes can drag and lose power when you need them most. This DeeMaxx 13" disc brake kit replaces your hubs with a 1-piece hub-and-rotor assembly that delivers strong, even stopping. The ceramic pads and stainless steel piston provide fast, responsive braking you can feel right away. Each rotor is vented to shed heat quickly, keeping braking consistent under load. Rated for 7,000-lb axles with an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern and 1/2" wheel bolts, the setup is built for reliability and control.

If you tow in rain or winter salt, corrosion can ruin unprotected brakes fast. The Maxx coating on these hub-rotors, calipers, and brackets lasts more than 1,000 hours in salt spray testing—far outperforming zinc or Dacromet finishes. Drainage holes in the hat section let water escape to minimize corrosion inside the rotor. The result is long-lasting protection that keeps your brakes looking clean and working smoothly in tough environments.

When brakes overheat, they lose performance and wear faster. DeeMaxx’s vented rotor design moves air efficiently through the core to pull heat away from the pads. The added drainage holes improve airflow even more, so these brakes stay cooler and more consistent on long grades or during repeated stops. This engineering also helps the pads last longer and keeps pedal feel steady.

Servicing disc brakes shouldn’t mean digging for a manual. Each caliper has clear, laser-etched bleeding instructions right on the body so you can keep things maintained without guesswork. With fewer moving parts than drum brakes—no springs or magnets to deal with—the design saves time over the life of the trailer.

Everything needed for one axle comes in the box—two Maxx coat hub-rotor assemblies with inner (25580) and outer (14125A) bearings, races, grease seals, grease caps, 1/2" wheel bolts, and zinc lug nuts. It’s all prepped for straightforward installation using a hydraulic actuator rated at 1,500 psi or above (sold separately). Backed by a 7-year warranty, this kit is built for dependable performance season after season.

Glad to hear they are working better than your previous brakes, Jerry! Disc is definitely the way to go. ^___^ I will let Ashley know they are much better as well! What's the next trip you have planned to really test them out?

The best upgrade that I could’ve made to my fifth wheel was to get rid of those drum brakes and converted over to electric over hydraulic
