Video Transcript for Review of the Replacement Lube Plug for DeeMaxx Grease Caps

Hey everybody, Ryan here at Etrailer. Today we're gonna be checking out the DMAX replacement grease plugs here. So when it comes to these plugs, they almost become a maintenance item and it's pretty important that you just keep an eye on 'em 'cause over time they start to dry rot and crack and and everything else. And since they seal up your actual grease caps, it's important that they stay sealed, that way water and other contaminants don't get inside of there and destroy your grease and destroy your other parts. So take a look at your original ones or the ones you have installed currently. Make sure they're in good shape.

If not, this will be a good solution for you. And the one I have on my boat trailer here today is a perfect example of what can happen when one goes bad. The one on my trailer is getting ready to let go. This part of it popped out and it's starting to dry rot and any day now, it's gonna eventually crack and let water in. This thing's in and out of the water a lot.

I sore this outside so the sun beats it up and that's just what, what happens over time. And I'm sure you're probably wondering, is the DMAX one gonna fit your cap And so I'll just pull that out. And for the most part these caps are pretty standard. Of course they can work with, these are gonna be replacements for the DMAX style of caps which actually I have right here. They're stainless from my understanding.

So if your cap's bad, you want the whole package, you can grab that. But for the most part, as long as your opening here is 1.18 in diameter, these are gonna plug right in. And generally speaking across the board, the manufacturers that make these caps here, they're all pretty much the same size. So just double check to be on the safe side. But the main thing that separates this one from a lot of the others is the fact that it's made from a silicone material as opposed to just kinda your standard rubber plugs.

And I think I'm actually going to use these, I gotta replace my existing one anyway. I'm curious to see if these will hold up longer. Seems like that other one I got about a year out of, but they feel well made. They're a little bit softer in theory, that silicone should hold up to the elements a little bit better. And I noticed too, if you look at the ceiling surfaces, on the backside of this plug, it goes up further. It's just a thicker flange there almost. So it might do a better job of keeping things sealed and things like that but they're gonna go in the same way any other plug would. They just pop right in. That's really all there is to it. It's a good tight fit and kind of stands apart as well having that yellow coloration. These plugs are gonna be sold individually. And what I recommend, if you're gonna replace one, just replace 'em all. That way you start fresh air. And something I wanna mention, if one of your existing ones failed and let moisture, other contaminants in. Definitely take a little bit of extra time, inspect everything, make sure your parts are in good shape. if you need to repack your bearings or replace your bearings or anything like that. Usually those type of components are pretty affordable. And if I take 'em apart, I usually just replace 'em myself but that's entirely up to you. But it's important that all that stuff stays properly lubricated and things of that nature so you don't have any failures. But other than that, at the end of the day, this is a perfect replacement or even upgrade as far as these grease steps go.

Awesome replacement for the original OEM product which I also purchased as spares.

Seems more durable than the rubber ones that I am replacing on my 2020 Tracker/Trailstar trailer(for Tracker 175TF boat). Fit perfectly and simple to install.
I had one of the original seals on the axle dust caps develop a hole and leak grease onto the wheel. I figured that if I was going to replace it then I would try to do right the first time. So far so good.
Product arrived very quickly after ordering.
Here is what I replaced, for reference for others with the same trailer. I bought an extra pair of the black rubber ones in case the yellow ones did not fit, but now they will be the backup ones for the toolbox.
RG04-010 Grease Cap Plug for E-Z Lube Grease Caps - these appear to be identical to what came on my trailer (noted above)

Love these replacement grease caps, they are so much better than the old-style rubber caps. The rubber caps in the Arizona heat don't last as long!
