You can use rubber or chain adjusters (sold separately) to increase the tension on the chains for a tighter fit.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

Tire size on sidewall

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates tire width in millimeters
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)

etrailer delivered these quickly, as always. The chains themselves are pretty good, but not perfect. The chains look nice when new, but the finish wore off immediately on the first use, which led to rust immediately. Maybe that's expected? The storage bag is fine for shipping, but not great for storing, so have a plan for that. My biggest issue is that the cam tightening wrench that came with the chains is really soft metal and twisted badly on the first install (not much pressure IMO). I do't trust it now as it will likely break...it's twisted bad. I also ordered the TCTH3 wrench with the chains as it was listed as an accessory. The flat doesn't fit into the cams, it's too big. Not good to figure this out in the field. Luckily I had two sets of chains so I was able to use the wrench from the other set to remove the chains. To summarize, the chains themselves work fine as chains, just wish they had a better finish. The cam wrench is terrible...not sure what to do about that yet. The accessory wrench doesn't fit the cams.

Haven't installed it, but ordering through eTrailer is an exceptionally good process. Free shipping and no tax made this a much better value than going through local retail. Shipping was a few days and delivered to my door. Research through local suppliers requires them to order model-specific products and it takes them a few days and at least two trips to their store -- this is a much better process. The instructional videos, reviews, and product details are spot on and more helpful than the manufacturers' site. Plugging in my vehicle loads up recommendations that fit my vehicle -- other retailers make you use filters and I'm less confident the product is specific for my make, model vehicle.

Review from a similar Alloy Snow Chains with Cam in Tire Chains

We purchased these chains for our Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 conversion. I only did a dry fit so far. I can say that these square link chains are heavy duty and appear well made. Cam tighteners snug the chains down tight and the adjusters should keep everything in place. I'll update after use.

Review from a similar Alloy Snow Chains with Cam in Tire Chains

They fit very very snug and looks like they won’t break the brake line off my Ram. I did have to bend 2 cross links open and un twist 2 links of the outside chain which I believe was a manufacturing mess up causing one of the cams to dig sideways into the side wall. After that it fit a bit better and won’t damage my tire. Overall very well built and good quality! I would recommend these to anyone who has a Ram! Just check the way it fits before hitting the snow.

Review from a similar Alloy Snow Chains with Cam in Tire Chains

Getting ready for winter, searched the web and local tire shops for tire chains for my 2019 Toyota Tundra. I found that etrailer.com had the best prices on the above chains plus FREE SHIPPING out to Oregon. The chains arrived on the day they stated. After ups dropped them off I installed them on the Tundra to make sure of a good fit. They fit perfectly. I'll be doing more business with etrailer.com in the future! Thank you Rick

Review from a similar Alloy Snow Chains with Cam in Tire Chains

Chains are great. Turn 3/4 ton truck into a mountain goat/tractor. Will take you anywhere. Heavier than buddys chains and the square links that make them bite better than round links ride rougher when you hit clear pavement. I would say these are best for offroad, dirt road, covered roads scenario and not great for people who are gonna spend most time riding over a plowed road, where the “slinky stretched over rubber cable” design excels.

Review from a similar Alloy Snow Chains with Cam in Tire Chains

Heavy duty tire chains really worked well in our snowy area. They are fairly easy to put on, and they really grip the snow, with their square chains in the gripping area. They are made of high-quality materials, and the side chains are plated. The unique adjusters are very cool, and eliminate the need for bungees to keep things tight. I am very satisfied.

Review from a similar Alloy Snow Chains with Cam in Tire Chains

First order of product arrived damaged and snow chains were rusty and appears to be used product. I contacted etrailer and they responded immediately. I had to send photo's which was understandable. They responded within the next day, and sent instructions for return of product and sent out replacements. I received the replacements in 5 days. Chains are in good condition and appear to be unused and new. Have not tried them out, and it looks like it may be a while before we have snow arriving in our area. I will be returning the first order immediatly and thank etrailer for quick and easy solution.

Review from a similar Alloy Snow Chains with Cam in Tire Chains

I received my order on the 2nd day. great response time. haven't open it yet, winter is a little ways off so i won't Know my satisfaction or dislike till that time comes I plan on this weekend to put both, the blind spot mirrors, and my boat mirror on. I live in Florida so I will know about the boat mirror soon. I bought a little Jeep wrangler for my son who lives in upstate NY (Adirondack mts.) . he owns a restaurant up there and when it snows they charge him a pretty penny to plow it.so I got to get the jeep up there, buy and install a plow for it and walla! thank you for your concern! i'll let you know how it all shakes out.

Comments
Sounds great! Make sure to practice getting the chains on and off in your driveway or garage. Kneeling in a snowbank on the side of the highway isnt the time or place to familiarize yourself with the process! For more helpful info on tire chains, take a look at the help article Ive linked for you.

Review from a similar Alloy Snow Chains with Cam in Tire Chains

Awesome set of tire chains! One Winter in the books so far for these chains and they have held up well. The cam adjusters are just the ticket to keep them tight, but I still throw on a set of rubber adjusters, for even more piece of mind.

  • Snow Chain Recommendation for 2014 Ram 1500 with Tire Size 275/65-20
We have several tire chain fits for the tire size of 275/65-20 that you referenced. I attached a link to this page to see them all. I really like the Titan chains part # TC2335 as they install easily, do not require much clearance (they are Class S Compatible), and provide great traction. The diamond pattern also gives a smoother ride quality. If you'll be in icy conditions you'll want a V-bar chain setup instead like the part # TC3831 as the V-bars break up the ice, or if you will...

The Titan V-Bar chains part # TC3831CAM that you referenced are a fit for the tire size you have on your 2018 Jeep Wrangler that is 315/70R17 and would work well, but the V-bar style of chain is mainly designed for ice conditions as the V-bars are sharper and designed to break up the ice. Reason being the links are a little smaller at 5.6 mm instead of 7 mm which means you'll have a smoother ride in the lighter snow you mentioned. You'll still have really great traction though. All three of of the tire chains you're looking at are great quality. Which one is best for you depends on your application and what is most important to you because they have a few differences. First the # TC3831CAM. This is a ladder pattern, which means the chains go straight across the tire tread and when you lay the chains out flat on the ground they resemble a ladder. It's a very traditional style that's been around for years. The downside to a ladder style is that the ride...
