Updated 11/03/2026 | Published 11/01/2026

Question:

Do you know if the TC2536 5.5mm tire chain can be used safely on the rear tires of a 2026 GMC 3500 Denali single rear wheel diesel pickup with 275/60 x 20 inch tires? thanks.

Hey Lawrence, thanks for reaching out! No, the Titan Chain Tire Chains # TC2536 aren't the correct fit for the 275/60R20 tires on your 2026 GMC Sierra 3500 Denali. Those chains are designed for 275/65R20 tires. For your tire size, the correct option in that series is following:

- Titan Chain Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - Square Link - Assisted Tensioning - 1 Pair # TC2533

The main thing to keep in mind is tire clearance. While GMC doesn't specifically prohibit chains on your tire size, these chains have 5.5 mm thick links, so you'll need to make sure you have adequate clearance around the tires to prevent contact with suspension or brake components.

Are you planning on using the chains primarily for mountain driving or occasional snow and ice?

Thanks, Jesse. I mis-typed the tire size and intended to ask if the TC2536 5.5 mm tire chains can be used on the rear wheels of a 2026 GMC 3500 Denali single rear wheel pickup with 275/65 by 20 inch tires. It looks like those chains should fit, correct? i only intend to use them for occasional snow and ice. sorry for the error on my part. thanks, Lawrence

@LawrenceM Ok gotcha no worries! In that case, yes, the # TC2536 are the correct fit for the 275/65-20 tires on your GMC.

@LawrenceM I bought these chains for a 1985 toyota pickup which I use as a dedicated plow truck. I have a floating 7' plow, manually lifted up and down. The rig works amazingly well, and the chains work well. They are relatively easy to put on, just a bit fussy to adjust. Third season of plowing coming up.
