Installation

Installation Step 1

1. Spread the chain around the back of the tire.

Installation Step 2

2. Connect the yellow and blue cable at the back of the tire.

Installation Step 3

3. Push the cable into place behind the tire and center the cross chains on the tire's tread. Then, on the front side of the tire, join the 2 ends of the yellow side chain using the green hook.

Installation Step 4

4. Feed the silver draw chain with the rubber tensioner through the red channel at the bottom and pull it tight. Then run the tensioner through the red rings. (Note: Depending on your tire size, you might not be able to thread through both rings.) Pull the tensioner across the tire and fasten it to the yellow chain on the opposite side.

Installation Step 5

5. Pull your vehicle forward and retighten the chain.

Class "S" Designation

SAE Class "S" tire chains are designed for use on vehicles with restricted wheel well clearance. Certain newer cars, vans and small trucks, especially those with large, aftermarket tires, may require Class "S" chains.

SAE Class S Clearances

These chains will fit your tires provided there is both:

  • A - a minimum of 1.46" (37 mm) between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well
  • B - at least 0.59" (15 mm) between the tire's sidewall and the vehicle itself.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

Tire size on sidewall

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates tire width in millimeters
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel rim in inches

2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty

I bought these for my F350 dually to use in the mountains when the roads get really snowy or icy. I haven't used them yet, but they fit nicely. The only trick to installing them on duals is to make sure they are bunched up because they only fit between the wheels when they are stretched out. But once you get the steel cable through you can shake them a little and they go right through. I use them on the outer dual wheels and on the front if needed. I like that they are chain link, but the links are not so big that they ride rough. The chain pattern helps with smooth riding too. See photos. 343202

"etrailer" is fast (no surpirse), we use them a lot. These chains ROCK. They go on SO EASY. The grip is KILLER, not just forward thrust, but the back end stays planted in corners (diamond pattern is why). My '96 F-250 throws serious snow and ice roost with these on. They come off just as easy: Unhook, swing the cable out of the way from behind the back of the tire, back up 3", fling them in the case. If you are really tired of floppy ladder chains and latches, trimming links and cable type chains (that just don't work)? GET THESE CHAINS. I've tested them in axle deep snow, thick ice, they didn't break, the truck flat hooks up and goes. These WORK- PERIOD! 167906

Still roosting snow! Use them several times a week in winter. Good stuff. Getting another pair once these wear out.

I bought 2 pair. I have used them several times on my 2500 HD Chevrolet pick up. They work well. Easy to put on, easy to takeoff. I wish they were a little more heavy duty. I should have bought the next size up. I would recommend these. 330405

Review from a similar Diamond Alloy in Tire Chains

The titan Chain Diamond Lt Alloy Chain-sq Link work great on my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. It’s been a year since I bought them, and I knew they fit because I practiced at home, but last weekend I used them in the snow for real. Easy to install, not too much vibration while driving, and easy to take off. Bonus: they fit easily back into the case! Never had a set of chains that easy to put away. 733031

Review from a similar Diamond Alloy in Tire Chains

I have used these a few times in the snow and ice to be able to tow my 11000 lb fifth-wheel trailer. The provided enough traction to tow my trailer up a 6% hill from where it was parked. (chains on all four wheels 4x4) These are easy to install. I did have an issue when trying to install after getting into some snow. I was unable to get the proper tension and they would come off. Broke a couple of links. They come with a few repair links. Once they are on properly, they are good. This was also while towing the trailer, which is really the only time I need them. 745229

Review from a similar Diamond Alloy in Tire Chains

We purchased some snow chains. We did what was recommended by the etrailers representative, which was to try putting them on the car before we actually got into snow country. We were very glad we took her advice. Coming from California we didn't have any experience in putting chains on, but with the step by step pictures we were able to figure how to put them on in about 1/2 hour. It was very simple. We haven't used them yet, but they look like they will work great. Thanks 152157

Chains were easy to equip. No need to drive on which is great if you're already slipping. After a few miles they would loosen up (no real way to tighten them since i was already pulling it across the tire). Advertised as low profile, but eventually loosened and damaged inner wheel well liner. Great for the price and only if driving a few miles 738218

Review from a similar Diamond Alloy in Tire Chains

Fit my tire(s) as advertised (that's 4 stars right there). Installed on tires not (yet) mounted on a vehicle. Makes it a bit easier to install, adjust, and tighten. Bought one set to be sure they'd fit, then bought a second for the front tires (4wd). Doing the same for an AWD vehicle as well. Waiting for the inevitable ice storm (or snow), so 4 stars until battle-tested. 458993

  • Tire Chain Recommendation for a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with LT255/75R17 Tires
For a set of Titan tire chains confirmed to fit your LT255/75R17 tires you have on your 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited you would actually want the part # TC2321 for a confirmed fit. Ideally you would put chains on all 4 wheels as that would give you the best possible traction for acceleration, braking, and turning. But if you only one to run one set you would need to put them on the rear axle. You will also need to check the owners manual of your vehicle to determine if there are any...

  • 2017 Silverado 1500 Snow Chains Recommendation
The signing away of your warranty when using snow chains has unfortunately become normal for some manufacturers. They are attempting to release all liability for the misuse and damage that can result from misuse. Unfortunately you will need to determine if you want to be safe and obey the law or if you want to keep the manufacturer warranty. When it comes down to the basics, there has to be an ultimate authority you need to follow and state laws will trump the manufacturer warranty....

According to the owner's manual for your 2013 Ford F-250/F-350, tire chains can be used on either two or four tires as long as you do not have 20" wheels and the tire chains are Class S complaint. The choice to install them on two or four tires will remain up to you. However, if you will only be installing tire chains on two tires they will need to both be on the same axle. I also recommend using them on the rear two tires as your truck is rear wheel drive (RWD) and this will give you the...

  • Class S Snow Chains for 2017 Ford F-350 Dually
I'll start off by addressing your question on Class S compatible tire chains like the Titan Chain # TC2321, since it will directly affect the type of chains you're going to be able to use on your 2017 Ford F-350. Class S compatible chains are designed for vehicles with limited clearance in the wheel wells and offer a low profile snow chain that can be safely used on these vehicles. The tire chains you see in the fit guide for your vehicle are based on the size of the tire and do not take into consideration what the owners manual says. Since your owner's manual states to use Class S approved tire chains this is what you will want to use. Class S tire chains require less wheel well clearance than Class U tire chains. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend you use Class U tire chains on your truck as the owner's manual states not to and since we have not tested Class U chains...
